Found a box at the Fair Lakes TRU Customer Service. I'd like to thank the awesome person out there who previously had bought all the figures, took them home, slit them all open and then returned the unwanted ones back to TRU taping up a few but leaving most just slit open.

That's ridiculous. Opening and taping things back for return? That's a defective product. It is not right that TRU took it back.

It's pretty horrible when people take these blind CMF pack's home, open them and return the ones they don't back to the store. TRU needs a better return policy when comes to lego CONF!

Was told today at TRU Fullerton, Ca that they will be getting another shipment of CMF Simpson's this weekend Saturday and next Thursday for the May 1, 2014 release date. Just a lil "FYI" for anybody in the O.C. area.

To those who brought the simpsons cmf, what do you think about the quality of minifigs?

The classic "Chicken or the egg".

If you believe the egg came first, then I would have to blame TRU because they are not supposed to sell The Simpsons CMF's before May 1st. If they didn't have them out, then that awful person wouldn't have bought a box.

I see one strike against the person who bought the box and 2 strikes against TRU for first selling the minifigures before the street date and second because they took back a damaged product.

I would love to be in line behind people who do this sort of thing. This is where I would speak up. "You aren't actually going to let this person return all these cut open minifigures are you?"

They're ok I guess, but really didn't get the excitement of previous batches. There are very few accessories, let alone novel accessories, and all molded heads. So the bags are really just light on contents.

I would imagine the minifigures that came with the Simpsons House are of better quality.

What are your thoughts on people who buy packs, take them home, identify them by touch, and then take the ones back that they don't want (still sealed). I do this occasionally so I don't have to stand in the store for an hour. Just curious if others would object to this practice.
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
Oh boy. Here we go again. I knew this what going to happen. I'm blaming @Yellowcastle this time :)

I personally don't think it is cool to buy tons of minifigures or boxes and take them home and feel them up and then bring back the ones you don't want. Now, this is only my opinion, so don't go all crazy on me. I just think that while these mminifigures are in your home, you are depriving other people of having a chance to grab some. Not everyone can visit a store every day to get a chance to grab some. Also, you are buying something with every intention of returning some or most of the minifigures you don't want. Again, it is just my opinion :)

It is not as satisfying as the normal minifigures.
The over-sized heads mess up the proportion so it is not as visually pleasing to me. It makes Lego minifigures looked "rough" and not as delicate.

If the Simpsons is not part of my adolescence and if I did not enjoy it's humor so much, I probably wouldn't buy this series.

Ahhhh. You didn't attempt to correct her mistake?

This happens from time to time with me. If I go to the store to buy something specifically and I'm expecting it to cost a certain price, I will question why it rang up so low. If I have bought a ton of groceries and I get home and they forgot to charge me for something, I don't fret because I'm not going to drive all the way back to the store to return a pack of gum.

It wasn't even until I got home that I noticed that they were so cheap. But even if I did notice, honestly, I wouldn't have said anything. I told her there were 60 in the box.

So you're trying to say that when the cashier said "$80 (plus tax) please," you didn't notice then how cheap it was? You were expecting to pay $240. You justified $240 with yourself when you walked in their door. Nobody pays $240 for something without coming to grips with "Hey, I'm going to pay $240 for this and I'm ok with that." So then you paid $80, which is a full $160 less than $240, walked out the door and didn't realize until you got home?

Even if that amazing chain of events happened, you then wrote this...

When I bought mine they were ringing up at 3.97 each. But the next morning the add came out with the Lego movie figures for 2.97 each. So I went back and was able to get a price adjustment of a dollar each + tax.

Nice find at WMT last week! Jealous as mine didn't have them out yet. Anyone know if they're they still ringing up at $2.97 or back to $3.99?

Nope didn't even think twice when she told me the price.

With the extra 44 I had a traded six of them and sold the rest. Sell now while you can. A set of 16 fetches you a good price on eBay.

^I wouldn't either. If a store can't hire competent workers why should we care? I bought $60 of storage containers from WM yesterday and the lady first didn't give me change back, and then when I told her she tried giving me $60 back. I told her she owes me $4.20 and she just looked at me for a few moments. Like, hello, am I supposed to care about your job more than you? I sure as hell don't get paid for doing their jobs.

I've never had a deal that good, but I do have a policy for that sort of thing. If I see the cashier ring me up too low, I ask them to check and make sure that is correct. If they still think it is right, I am gone with my loot.

It's all a matter of moral level, and apparently mine is an easily hopped wall.

I bought a new bike for my daughter at WM along with a few small items. The cashier rang up my items and told me something like 32.00. I looked at her and asked about the bike which was $200 by itself. She looked at the register and then confirmed the 32.00 price. I had to call a manager over to get her to realize her error before she would correct the total. Some people don't deserve the air they breath.

I'll bite. What rationale did you use to justify a price adjustment on what is essentially a different item? That would be like me buying a Haunted House, then going back and saying "Hey, the Vampyre Castle is only $100, can you please adjust this Haunted House down to $100?"

Similar experience. I returned a trimmer and the clerk tried to give me over $200 more than the original purchase price. I told him that there must be a mistake and then proceeded down the long path of explaining basic math to the poor guy. I've never had to work so hard to get out of money in my life.

There is something far worse than being stupid though and it's being the kind of person who takes advantage of others. That's not me and it won't be the example I set for my son.
