Abe, has a weird shaped head but you can feel the top of his head for his spikey hair.

Yeah, Abe's head feels very conical as well.

I found Marge to be the easiest to find out of all of them, simply due to her unique hair piece.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but It appears that possibly the identifying dots are back on these packages. Just for fun I picked up 12 packs today and noticed that they have the dot patterns along the bottom seams again like they did with older minifig series.
I can confirm that 7 figures I got were unique and the additional 5 I have unopened have matching dot patterns to ones that I already opened. Using the feel technique I can confirm that they are correct as I have a Marge and a Wiggum with unique dot patterns that match already opened packs.
I'll post a link to pics soon.

You can also weight them. Ralf is about 9.8 grams while Milhouse is about 10.2 grams.

This page has some of them, but looking through the comments, it sounds like it might be dependent on what batch they come from:

We just used the "feel" method and successfully got them all.

I have purchased 17 bags so far, all blind and have 12 of the set already. Glad to see a more normal distribution per box.. hopefully Lego sticks to this. I'll be feeling for the rest now!

I wonder if there are more Simpsons sets to come? Plenty of characters to choose from. Smithers would be great, as would Principal Skinner.

No one outside of Lego or Fox knows if they plan on doing anymore. I can imagine if sales of the house and minifigs continue to go thru the roof, Lego will probably want another wave of minifigs and/or sets.

Thankfully they already are going through the roofs! At least online. In retail stores, the minifigures are selling okay. But they've been a best seller on TRU.com and S@H, and have sold out for S@H once! They've been the best seller since the release.

The House set is doing great too. It has out done all the other D2C sets (sans the first week of the Sea Cow and May the 4th Sandcrawler) on S@H. http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Top-Sellers;jsessionid=NTgjNAiwDlnG2nhuIdxlyQ**.lego-ps-4-3

The tricky part is that with more sets, we may not be able to get new moulds, if they choose to go the D2C route like the House. Unless there's a new CMF series. We'll have to wait and see.

  • darthdcdarthdc Member Posts: 228
The house would be ok if not for the huge £180 price tag.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,556
I wonder also if the CMF coming out will impact sales of the house. In my view, the CMF series has better minifigs and having the complete family available as CMFs may mean a kid that was going to get the house now gets the CMFs plus another large set that they also wanted instead of the Simpsons house.
  • Gooker1Gooker1 Member Posts: 599
I think it can work both ways too. Someone will get the minifigs, and then they'll want the house on top of that.
  • VortexVortex Member Posts: 342
My spidey senses tell me the sales on the house should probably decline since the advent of the minifigs. I can't speak for all but I agree with CCC .

For many including myself the biggest charm for the house would be the mini figs that come with it. Now that I can just buy the figs and 16 of them , my motivation or urgency to buy the house gets reduced by half . I may still buy the house but I can wait. Probably buy the triple E or Sand crawler before that now.

    Just my two cents

I think they'll improve, actually. People who got the CMFs want a place where they can put their new minifigures, and many do not like the ones in the House set, so they'll switch it out.

I just thought I would mention that my local Walmart finally got these about a week ago. It was a shelf type box instead of the end cap hanger style Target always gets. The box is on a top shelf, at the far end of the isle by the Creator sets. Interesting thing is, nobody seems to be buying them. It seriously looks like not one figure has been taken from the box as of tonight.

I guess it is hard to tell. I come from the perspective of a MOC'er rather than a set builder, and my minifigs will be put in small vignettes rather than the house. But I imagine people that don't MOC will want some other way of displaying them. The house is one expensive display case though.

It may have been mentioned already, but Bart usually wears an orange t-shirt, yet the figure has him wearing a red one.
  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,477
^as someone who works with industrial print almost every day I can honestly say the degree of difference between red and orange can be very subjective
  • beebee Member Posts: 33
Also, in the the LEGO Simpsons episode he is wearing a red shirt

I take any 'best seller' notices with a grain of salt. Are they really best sellers, or are TRU and LEGO trying to push them at 3.99 to get people to buy them?
They were in demand when the first run was bought up by those looking to profit take as much as those collecting. Now that the second wave it out lets see how they do. My guess is they will sell out fairly quickly though, and really there are enough characters in the Simpsons to make a second CMF series if they wanted (or two more if they rehash the Simpsons family in other poses, clothes or expressions (like Bartman for example)

I was swinging by Target earlier today, and there was a woman who was rifling through the Simpson's figures, taking them over to the iPad kiosk, and doing something (?) to them, then putting certain ones back.
I just blindly bought 10 in a row. Haven't opened them yet.
  • Gooker1Gooker1 Member Posts: 599

Good luck on not getting a bunch of dupes. In a new box, grabbing 10 in a row, you'd probably get 2 sets of dupes, and at worst 3. But if she rifled through them, maybe they're a bit jumbled. Good luck!!

I did mention it earlier, but my first 10 packets - bought them from Argos without the chance to pick them (all stored at the back) and I got all different.

Maybe she was trying to match up the dot codes on the bags.

I found the Simpson's CMFs at a Meijer in Columbus, OH for $2.99 with a sale going on for 15% off general merchandise. I bought a total of 16 packs and ended up with 12 unique CMFs. These are distributed much better than previous CMFs. After buying the CMFs it made me finally commit to buying the house. I had been considering it, but after seeing the minifigs in person I felt like I had to have the house.

    Just an observation:

The Simpsons CMF don't seem to be selling well in my area which seems odd to me considering how popular new CMF releases usually are. It can't be completely blamed on the price increase either bc the Meijer stores in the central Ohio area have been selling them for 3.00 since release. Minifig displays normally get tore through pretty fast in my area. This hasn't been the case this time at all though. Just wondered if anyone else has noticed this or if it is perhaps a lack of Simpsons popularity in my neck of the woods.
  • brickupdatebrickupdate Member Posts: 1,020
From what I can tell, you can easily grab a complete set of 16 figs on eBay for not too much more than retail. For $7 or $10 more total, I'd prefer to buy it on eBay, than waste money on gas, and sit there trying to feel out little baggies in the aisle of a store. (hope that doesn't make me a snob!)
    :)
But I suppose, there is enjoyment in the hunt.

Yep...I've noticed the same thing in our area. For fun, I stopped by our local Target store three consecutive days to see how they were selling (I pass right by it on the way home from work). Hardly any were gone during those days. Normally the standard CMFs are picked through, but that doesn't seem to be the case (pardon the pun) for the Simpsons figs. To be honest, my kids don't have a clue who they are and I'm not planning to educate them.

^ The bins at my local Meijer are actually overflowing with them and that is at the $3.00 price. Nobody seems interested. I reluctantly completed a set since they were available for $3.00 (I'm not a big enough fan to pay $4.00), but I swear - it looks like I am the only person who has bought any and that was almost two weeks ago.

The hunt is where it is for me. It's almost an addiction at this point. I actually enjoy seeing how fast I can feel out a complete set + any dups I may want. I think its fun helping others get the ones they are after as well. I can't help but complete a set every release now which is just stupid b/c I certainly don't like all of them. The odd thing is that I probably wouldn't do that if the CMFs were packaged with a window or something that allowed you to actually see the fig you were getting. It's a sickness I tell you...

    ^Yep...

I can't count the times I was in TRU, Target or even our Lego store and some parent was standing there wanting to find a specific figure. It kind of makes you feel like a magician frisking and tossing aside CMF bags while looking at the ceiling and within a couple minutes or less say..."there you go!" I usually get a mixed look of awe and concern.
  • MojoestMojoest Member Posts: 477
Just been into the lego store in Manchester (UK) and they had the figures separated out behind the desk so you could ask for specific ones you need, or I guess one of each for the whole set. Nice idea

Same here. I enjoy hunting them. I got the family for now. But I help my my friend and colleague to get two compete sets and 4 sets of family

I've seen these CMF's at a couple walmarts and targets for 4 bucks and a toys r us for 4.49 . it appears that some people are buying a few but it's a mostly a bust over here.

If I could find them at a THREE dollar price tag, i'd be tempted to grab a mr burns, millhouse, and ralph since they look so cute but the problem is that at 4 bucks, it's a no go in my book.

I was in Columbus this weekend at a Meijer and can confirm the overflowing $3.00 bins. The strange thing was I also visited a Columbus Target and the 120 minifigure end cap was almost empty at $3.99.
