edited February 2014 in Shopping USA/Canada
TRU has some decent prices (below MSRP) on many City sets to include several discontinuted sets. I dont usually collect those but here's a few that I noticed:

#7937 Train Station: $45.59 (5% off but sold at Lego.com)
#60022 Cargo Terminal: $75.99 (24%)
#60027 Town Square: $108.00 (10%)
#4204 The Mine: $88.00 (12%)
#31011 Aviation Adventures: $52.00 (13%)
#60013 Coast Guard Helo: $30.39 (25%)

If anybody manager to nab a #3766 for $80, they got the deal of the day!

I saw their Lego movie toys were at MSRP yesterday...but knowing them they raised the price before the 20% off...that and the CMFs are all a dollar more anyways.

@ecmo47 What set is #3766 supposed to be? I assume you transposed some numbers but TBH I don't feel like putting in the mental work to figure out what set you are referring to :)

I love how the CMFs are on 'sale' for 3.19 when retail is 2.99
TRU is a joke, while there are a couple of deals most are hilarious to see as their 'sale' prices are higher than retail. The sad thing is there are probably people that will think those are good prices.

I submitted the Family House Price on TRUs site though ($55.99) to Amazon.. will be interesting to see if Amazon drops it as they are sold out online at TRU, but I figured it was worth a shot.

As for 3677.. good luck finding them in stores somewhere, because they have been sold out online for about 1 year now. I guess they must still in a store somewhere as the entry is still in their system.

This week, in addition to the sale already mentioned, a purchase of $50 or more on any LEGO set should yield a free LEGO movie ticket.

I haven't tried to obtain this yet myself, so I don't know how the actual redemption will work, but the fine print says $7.50 towards the purchase of a movie at participating theaters. If anyone has anything further to add, please post.

^TRU = slime....$7.50 might get you a ticket in timbuktu on a Sunday at 11:00 AM

"Slime" is a little drastic. It's true that it will almost certainly have to be matinee pricing, but I think it would still make it free for everyone outside of NY and a few other cities.

Also, as I read it, you can apply the credit towards a more expensive ticket.

I ended up picking up the LEGO Movie set Rescue Reinforcements #70813 for $35.99+Tax using my Rewards dollars, so I'm pretty happy with this sale. Always nice to get a set I wanted anyway for 50% off, especially when it's a TRU exclusive.

What you get is a voucher worth $7.50 towards admission at participating theaters.

The way it works is you go to Hollywood Movie money site, enter the provided code and print the certificate. Use the certificate to purchase your actual ticket.

    Code expires on 3/31/14.

The TLM sets where not marked up at my store. Stacked with rewards dollars as well. Got 70813 for $47.55 before taxes.

We picked up some of the Lego books at 25% off (The level 1 reader book and the essential guide) and yes set were regular priced so 20% off is a good deal right now...

I'm trying this online in the USA. No mention of movie tickets. I've gone as far as checking my cart before purchase. Can anyone confirm online success?

^ Movie ticket is B&M only.

^ And apparently only with the mailed flyer...

    ^ Email works too. ;)

Not true at my store. They had signage for the ticket offer and gave it to me without requiring me to present any flyer. I used up my rewards and bought #70813 for $23 including tax.

The flyer also mentioned the free polybag with ticket voucher? Anyone getting this?

Can you scan the flyer? I'm not seeing this advertised.

^^ ^ Thanks, but I guess I'm still not seeing where it talks about the polybag like @Yellowcastle mentioned.

^^ The car shown in the Margots link appears to be from set #3177 although the front bumper is different. Is that the free build?

Wow nice, YC. That would make that a pretty sweet deal indeed, if anyone asks about this at the guest service desk please report back...might be a TRU run in my future...
  • xeeeejxeeeej Member Posts: 71
No luck with that at my TRU.

At least they didn't do a "find the 1 of 5,000 chrome gold Emmetts promotion".

^ Not even a 5000 chrome gold Emmett taped randomly under theater seats across the world ? :)

^Visions of AFOLs crawling across theater floors while the movie plays. " 'Scuse me, could you lift your legs?"
