Not sure if this has been posted already, and it seem that they don't have watermarks, so...

    More at The Brick Fan.

This is apparently the year of transparent light blue.
  • Lego91Lego91 Member Posts: 86
The Brick Fan has the same pictures!

When the Arctic City sets were announced I thought that I definitely need to buy them. Seeing the pictures now I'm kind of disappointed.

Bicycle shop & café looks amazing. Like a baby modular building.

Baby modular. Perfect. Love it and it will fit so well with the modulars. Also really really love the new passenger train and train station. Cargo train also looks awesome but not my speed.

Patron: "I asked for no cream in my coffee!!!"

Barista: "Ummm... That isn't cream, sir. It appears to be a huge pile of bird s----t."

I'm loving this set!!! The Modulars are just too big for the amount of space I have. These buildings are perfect tho.

The Bike Shop and Café looks really cool, hopefully we get more Creator sets like this as I've been slighty let down by their offerings over the last couple of years. The Arctic sets look better than what I was expecting. Are the sled dogs a new piece?

Arctic - much worse than I expected. Some nice vehicles but too.much.orange. I loved the 2000ish arctic city. (Bizarrely as its was blue and grey, see below)

Agents - can't see too much. Better than I expected though, although what are those multi coloured things poking out of the rear top of the truck. Want to see more of the sets before i finally decide if its a pass or definate buy, but so far so good.

#70816 - you know what, i just don't like the blue/grey colour scheme. I know I know its classic space, but if im honest, theres a reason its 'classic' and I remember why i was so excited when classic space went to blue/white and then to futuron the first time around.

Chima - can't tell from the lighting

#70728 Battle for Ninjago City looks really nice to me, fire temple nice, and thats very nice. Too expensive, but should be heavily discounted.

#31026 Bicycle Shop & Cafe - amazing. Simply amazing.

I think that is the minifig lineup for the series. I wish we could see the set to the right with the pink haired minifig.

and agreed, the Creator bike shop looks just awesome. I might start trying to design some similar-sized buildings to flesh out my city on a budget.

^^ Ah yes, that makes sense. Makes me happy too, as I was worried they'd stuck some kind of weird candy shop on the wrong side. Totally unrelated but one of things i really liked with the original agents was the little rainbows of trans cheese that turned up every now and then.

The Agents truck looks great, looks smaller but still awesome! It appears to be quite a bit stronger than the previous version as well. Now please include a light brick projector! :o)

Agents is starting to look very "Tron-ish" IMO

That massive Chima mammoth has me thinking about trying to MOC a LOTR Oliphaunt.

@richl I was thinking the same, I can't believe they made that but they wont do another LotR wave with an Oliphant!

My first impression was the same. A LotR mumak. But then after a closer look, i couldn't see anything much that would really work. But here's hoping...

I'm with you on the Futuron color scheme. Much more visually striking than the blue/gray combination.

How many bike shops does one Lego City need though. We had them recently in #7641 and #60026. I suppose they provide the means by which the plethora of robbers and arsonists can get around.
  • richoricho Member Posts: 3,830
Wow, I quite like the Artic base camps with the orange. I am thinking a MOC of The Thing.
  • mathewmathew Member Posts: 2,099
The new passenger train looks great. Reminds me a little of the first space monorail. I'll have to consider picking it up when it goes on sale.
  • korkor Member Posts: 392
I really like the look of the 60052 train set. I grew up right beside a railroad track and this reminds me of many of the engines I would see multiple times a day.

I'm really digging the Chima mammoth set. But be honest, how long would it have been before LEGO stuck a trunk and tusks on an AT-AT anyway and tried to pass it as a mammoth? ;-)

Also: trans light blue right legs (what's wrong with left legs btw?) are present on many of the Chima figs. That's a new leg colour.

Prices are a all over the place, but everything I was interested in is way overpriced. $100 Benny's Spaceship (939 pieces)? $90 Arctic Base Camp (735 pieces)? Arctic is going to hit major clearance discounts.

That Mammoth set is the worst at $90 for 604 pieces.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,536
This is the German toy fair right? Do they even display US$ there? Could just be guessing based on the Euro prices by those who posted the photos. But yeah after awhile any and all of these ought to be found with decent discounts on Amazon or elsewhere.
  • rancorbaitrancorbait Member Posts: 1,842
@TheOneVeyronian TLG is slowly piecing together the Jedi ghost figures, in a few years we'll have all the necessary pieces. "then we shall have peace" ;o)

The Cargo Train at $200 for 883 pieces is rough too. Now trains always carry weak cost-per-part ratios, but this one seems especially worse.

Doesn't the train come with track and power functions ales?

The cargo train is really a miss in my mind. I like the loco well enough, but after that the actual train cars are really skimpy. a spool carrier? that weird small tank on another flatbad, and then a flatbad with some railings and a single cow. fill it out with another train and truck. ugh. wish they would have spent the extra piece count on making a cargo train that actually seemed to be somewhat substantial. I'd prefer just to get the loco and swap it into my existing yellow cargo train

I'm the opposite - like the carriages (admittedly as extras for the yellow train) but not at all keen on the engine.

I think it looks cool, but the engine is a bit on the plain side. It ain't no Maersk, that's for sure.

What I'm not a fan of is its $200 price tag. Did TLG confuse themselves with TRU?
  • pillpodpillpod Member Posts: 273
That yellow mech looks like a great set for $60. Probably nothing I'd buy personally, but if I were a kid again...that would be where my eyes were glued.
  • tamamahmtamamahm Member Posts: 1,987
I am bummed about Arctic. Disappointed. My son will have no interest. The bear and husky look nice, though.

The one agent set shown, there is potential there. I could see my son potentially wanting that.

I am not thrilled with the Friend's mall. I am hoping the jungle sets will be a bit more interesting.

    Overall, blah.
  • Steve_J_OMSteve_J_OM Member Posts: 993
The Mech and Police Dropship are grabbing me more than Benny's Spaceship as far as TLM sets go - I think they are both excellent.

Wish we'd gotten proper reveals for the rest of the SW summer sets, have no interest in the Rebels stuff.

Here is the box art for the baby modular, showing the two alternate builds:

I really would like to see the back as well,...
  • binaryeyebinaryeye Member Posts: 1,831
One of the alternate builds is reminiscent of Market Street.

Baby modular. Perfect. Love it and it will fit so well with the modulars. Also really really love the new passenger train and train station. Cargo train also looks awesome but not my speed.

Baby Modular? Maybe. This reminds me of a 21st Century version of Medieval Market Village.

Why is the classic spaceship look to be blue and dark blue grey, instead of a lighter shade of grey like the true classic space line? Or are my eyes just fooling with me?
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
Lego doesn't use the old light or dark gray colors anymore. Reproducing the new neoclassic in those "old" colors would have cost them crazy money, I'm sure.

Most of the grey parts seem to be Medium Stone Grey (Light Bluish Gray), but a handful are Dark Stone Grey, probably for variety's sake. Having a slight contrast in color for certain parts draws attention to certain details. You can see the colors very clearly in this photo from Brickset's photostream.

None are going to be in the old Grey and Dark Grey colors, for obvious reasons.

I don't think @krklint was asking why the set doesn't use old gray, but that the gray in the photo (linked to by Aanchir) looks like DBG/DSG. And it does, because the photo is dark. The parts that are actually DBG/DSG look black (e.g. the two bows near the front, on either side of the Classic Space logo).

You can see in this image that the majority of the gray is LBG/MSG.

But they changed the damn stormtrooper design!! Argggh, just as the clone troopers are finally finding stylistic peace in the wake of The Clone Wars.

The Phantom is going to rival the Mandarin Battle set for "most likely to have been designed by a six year old." I mean, that is just AWFUL... along with being nothing I have ever heard of before.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ Both designs are from the upcoming Rebels cartoon that is replacing the Clone Wars cartoon. The half sized droid is a main character in the cartoon.

If the Simpsons mini-series is only Simpsons characters, then I'm in for a whole box!
Friends Mall? Guess I'm gonna have to appease little Miss 11yo (she's had the entire Friends range over the last couple of years).
Everything else? Have to give it all a miss. Simply got too much these days.

It was originally called the Sharc Tooth, piloted by Deep Six and including a hand bellows. ;o)
