Looks like something went sideways with the minifig count -- yesterday, I had 183 sets and 275ish minifigures and this morning it is showing 183 sets and 4 minifigs.  I've double-checked my collection and I'm pretty sure I have more than 4 minifigs ;)
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
Yes something has gone wrong but I'm away from the office at the moment and the security of the server is such that I can't access the underlying data to see what the issue is. I suspect it's caused by unexpected data in the feed from BrickLink or something like that.

I'll investigate fully when I get back.

  • ToddMyersToddMyers Member Posts: 403
This just adds fuel to my love/hate relationship with BrickLink.  :)

    Safe travels!
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
Actually that seems to be OK on further investigation.  I suspect the Id field on one of the tables has exceeded the max size of an integer which I can't sort until I get home
  • PaperballparkPaperballpark Member Posts: 4,270
So do Brickset members now collectively own more than 2,147,483,647 minifigs? ;)

  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
No, because the data is deleted and recreated when you log in which I suspect had caused it to exceed that number.
  • vanvan Member Posts: 1
Hello, I encounter the minifigs count bug. It shows 28 minifigs owned since yesterday when I have more than 150. What can I make to get back the correct list of owned minifigs ? (hope my bad english is understandable !)
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
It's now sorted, everyone's numbers should be correct

    @Huw

I just noticed that, while my "minifigs owned" number has returned to normal, my "parts" count in the header of the main Brickset site has completely disappeared and I'm unable to find any link to view a list of all the parts I own. I do have "Enable parts collection functionality" ticked.

What's happened there? Does it have something to do with the new banner perhaps?
  • soundmarshsoundmarsh Member Posts: 11
I notice many people talking about minifigs. I do not see the Bricks in my top bar anymore, did that go away?
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
It'll be back once Iron Man has gone ;)

  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
    Now sorted.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,730
What happened to the Lego . com affiliate link on the main page? Did it have to be removed because of the logo? It makes it more difficult to find a click-thru link to benefit the site with.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
It's shown to those in countries in which LEGO operate an affiliate scheme, so not Bulgaria.
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,730
Oh ok. I live here but still order stuff to my US address.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
You can change your 'preferred country' using the flag at the top of the page which will cause the site to behave as if you are in the USA, except in a few places.

I've just looked on the 'My Collection' page and it says I have 97626 pieces, but the counter at the top says I have 94503 pieces. How come they're different?
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
The one at the top includes only parts that are in set inventories, and which show when you click on the number.

The one on the 'my collection' page is a sum of the number of parts we have recorded for sets in your collection, some of which, it seems, do not have inventories.

    Clear as mud? :-)

The general category disappeared on mobile (iPhone 6s) there is only one subject under that category instead of many.
  • Bricklover18Bricklover18 Member Posts: 722
Sorry that is for the forum not Brickset itself

Help! This pop up ad is destroying brickset forums (for me, at least). The below add pops up when I'm on my iPhone, only on the brickset forums, nowhere else. It won't go away and sometimes it pops up several times. It doesn't even leave brickset open. Just takes me to a new site. Surely I'm not the only one with this issue.

I'm on an iPhone 6 (iOS 9.3.2) and I have never had a pop-up like this.  I'm not familiar with malware infecting iPhones (or how to clean that up), but if you were on a PC, that would be my first guess.

Edit: if you do a google search for ads.loadreviews.com, the second search result mentions virus removal for this.  I did not click on that results link, though....

Disable javascript in settings and clear your cache for Safari (also in settings I think) - that might do it. I've seen stuff similar to this on my wife's iPad and I think they use the same code in the browser as iPhones.

    Or see this: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT203987

It could be a bad ad. Log in and you won't be served any.

I'll report it to the ad. network.

I have a question. I've accidentally muted a few discussions that I want to see on my home page in the forum. But I jave no idea how to unmute them. Help, anyone?

You can reinstate categories here http://bricksetforum.com/categories

So I just realized something inconsistent in the database. Brickset has a tag for sets that include Airjitzu fliers but also includes "Airjitzu" as a subtheme of Ninjago. The problem is that not only are these categories mostly redundant, but they prevent "Airjitzu" sets from being categorized under other applicable subthemes.

I think what would make the most sense is to eliminate the "Airjitzu" subtheme altogether (with all of the 2015 Airjitzu sets being switched to the "Possession" subtheme and 70590 Airjitzu Battle Grounds being switched to the "Day of the Departed" subtheme) and possibly for the "Airjitzu flyer" tag to be shortened to just "Airjitzu" (since all sets with Airjitzu flyers carry the "Airjitzu" branding on the box).

Several (well a lot) of my minifigures appear to have doubled up mysteriously overnight.  I now show 1065 minifigs which (sadly) is just ot the case as it should be 5-600 or so.  Any reason for this and is there anything I can do about it?
  • PinoPino Member Posts: 5
    Hai Huw,
I emailed you about this before but is there any chance the awesome website Brickset.com and it's api will be available through https?

Reason I also ask here is that there might be more users of this website wondering the same thing. And I'm getting increasingly more questions about my extension not working.

Because now my BrickTip chrome extension does not work on https websites since chrome no longer allows calls to insecure sites from https websites.
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
I should work on serving it via https but I'm not sure how to. I think it can be done via CloudFlare but I've not investigated fully.

I'll make a point of doing so shortly.

I found #6648 Mag Racer accidentally tagged as Blacktron in the database.
  • omniumomnium Member Posts: 831

    3) Have the forum comment boxes use the "ctrl" arrow navigation, i.e. hold ctrl and hit right or left, it should skip words.  Right now it goes to the beginning or end of a line.
I think this came up before and we decided it was to do with which OS/browser you're using. Which is not to say it couldn't/shouldn't be fixed, of course, but trying another browser could be a workaround.

I just got fed up of ctrl-arrow not working so decided to search and see if it was fault of a known problem.

For me, ctrl-arrow works fine with Chrome, but not with Firefox (I have version 50.1.0 right now). I tried both Windows and Ubuntu and it's the same.

I don't want to have to switch to Chrome, but as I start to use the forum more often, I might get frustrated enough to do it for this everything brickset related.

Probably because the minifigure driver uses the Blacktron torso.  Agreed though, should not be tagged as Blacktron.

Why not? The Blacktron tag does not identify Blacktron sets (a subtheme does that) so  items that are associated with Blacktron are tagged: http://brickset.com/sets/tag-Blacktron.

Because that set isn't really associated with Blacktron. Sure, it uses a torso that was originally from Blacktron sets and figures, but it has no Blacktron logos or other hallmarks to indicate that every figure that uses that torso is Blacktron-affiliated. If you were to follow the same train of thought for other reuses of minifig torsos outside the themes/factions they originated in, then #6403 should be tagged with Pirates, #10211 should be tagged with Pirates and Farm, #10229 should be tagged with Farm and Black Hole Gang, etc. It gets silly really fast.

Yes, I was really surprised to hear that about the torso because I own the set and, while I don't have it to hand to check, it's never occurred to me before that any of the pieces were Blacktron re-uses. It's not the sort of thing you'd guess. And people who like the torso and want to see its history of use in other sets could do that by clicking on the torso in the set inventory.

Slightly odd one - when looking at a set's part list, if a part is in >999 sets, the "In 1000 sets" text wraps within its box, which then breaks the next row of parts (it just starts below and to the right of the part in 1000 sets).
Weirdly, zooming text out and in fixes it.
I'm on an oldish laptop which is only 1024x600...
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
Thanks. If you can remember which set I'll look into it.
  • NickF22NickF22 Member Posts: 489
Yeah sorry that would have helped! Try 30474... I think maybe the black 1x2 plate has just hit 1,000 sets which is why I'm seeing it now.
(Although oddly if I click on the "In 1000 sets" link it shows me "1 to 25 of 983 matches"...)
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
    Thanks, will look into it.

Hello, I can't seem to locate the Elves theme. I can find stuff if I look up an item by its number, but if I am trying to find something by browsing by theme it is not showing up. It doesn't show up in a drop down or in on of the other fields. I took some screen caps on my iPad Safari browser to better explain.

Here, I looked up a set via item number.

Then when I selected Elves at the end of Home-Browse-Sets- , it led me to this screen:

So so I went to the main browse screen and it showed me the number of sets under the Theme.

Then when I selected Elves (33) it lead me to an identical blank screen

Is the theme dead in 2017?
  • HuwHuw Administrator Posts: 7,120
That will almost certainly be because you have specified it as a theme you are *not* interested in, in your profile settings here: http://brickset.com/profile/themepreferences

That's one feature I wish I'd never implemented: it's the cause of more help desk calls than any other!

Went to use the AGM feature in the data base for the first time and it won't allow me to add details, curser doesn't even register in the spaces. Am I missing something?

    Cheers

What device are you using? It cna be problematic on tablets and especially phones because the edit link is on the extreme right.

It's something I need to fix when I've figured out the best way to do so.
  • oldtodd33oldtodd33 Member Posts: 2,729
@Huw  Could you please add the latest Kladno minifigure to the minifigs list? Bricklink has it as gen076. Also, why when I search minifigures under the M-TRON theme does it come up with no results?
