Never goes on sale near me either. I’m waiting though as everywhere has them and none are selling.
  • piratemania7piratemania7 Member Posts: 2,146
The Bat Shuttle was recently (as of a week ago) floating in and out of $64 range on Walmart. So I assume Amazon was matching this. With both offering free two day shipping it’s easy to go with either.

So Amazon US now has the #10248 F40 back in stock, the #10232 Palace Cinema back in stock, and the #10249 toy shop back in stock (all sold by Amazon).
In the very least this can help those that missed out on these when they sold out at LEGO.

What are people's thoughts on purchasing LEGO through 3rd party sellers on Amazon? Any horror stories I should know about? I always try and buy the ones that Amazon fulfills themselves, but even then I wonder just where the sets have been between the original seller and the Amazon warehouses...

(I hope this is an appropriate thread for this question.)

Be a smart shopper and check eBay. You can almost always get the same set significantly cheaper on eBay vs amazon if it is a third party seller.

Thanks! That's a significant enough discount to merit retutning the 3 I got last month.

#21039 Shanghai Skyline is 20% off right now. So are a lot of things, but this is the first discount I’ve seen on this set.

#76086 is 28% off.  Was holding out for 30% or more, which I'm sure will happen.  But 28% is close enough for me to pull the trigger on 1.

Edit - I now see from the very last posts that this was 26% off just a few days ago.  So maybe wait since it might keep going?  I'll just celebrate my 2 points.

Not as good as when they were around 110, but good if you need one now (as they are close to retirement)

Those prices did not last long. I checked an hour after this was posted and they were back to MSRP.

I feel lucky to have gotten the Juniors set then!  Was considering getting it for my nephew for his birthday, so I jumped on it when I saw it at %20 off already.  Good thing I moved fast I guess!  Thanks for the heads up @rd1899!!

It strikes me as odd that some sets now have the circular bases for minifigures, and some do not.

I saw that and was highly tempted to pick up a second one... great car.

I'm really hoping that the Ford Mustang Hatchback hits at a discount too, I'll swoop that one up in a heartbeat at 20 or 30% off!

I had ordered two McLaren 720s for the 30% sale with no rush shipping and they arrived today. However, for some reason, they arrived in two separate and different kinds of boxes, which left one of the sets crushed.

Don't know why they would go for the collapsible box for one of the sets but it is a bit of a bummer. I normally don't care for box conditions but since these were going to be gifts for some friends it would have been nice for it not to have been damaged.

Weird how they could not have just been in the same box.
  • CaptainRogersCaptainRogers Member Posts: 867
^mine shipped separately as well... Only received one so far, in a very protective box. We shall see what happens to #2.
  • 77ncaachamps77ncaachamps Member Posts: 2,442
Mine both arrived in the same box. But they were shipped to a pick-up location.
Wonder if that has anything to do with the packaging...

Did they have separate tracking numbers? That would show you if they originated from different places.

I have an ongoing "feud" with Amazon, as they have been shipping smaller LEGO sets to me in bubble mailers.  Needless to say the boxes are crushed in transit.  This seems to be a accepted policy (as opposed to a poor choice by an employee), as even when I request a replacement it ships in the same bubble mailer.  It's reached the point were I won't even purchase a small set from Amazon because I know it will likely arrived damaged.  No amount of complaining or escalation has changed the situation.

Would be curious to hear if others are seeing this too.

Probably a good idea that you stop ordering small sets and then returning because they will likely ban you if you keep it up.

Abusing the return policy is one thing.  Refusing to accept damaged items is something else.  If anything, more people should hold vendors accountable for these actions and force a change in policy.

You can look at it however you want. Amazon has gotten aggressive with banning people that return frequently regardless of the reason. There have been some articles published recently discussing it. I don't disagree that it's frustrating, but I would use caution moving forward. If it's a set you are going to build and it's small, if you got it on sale, I wouldn't worry so much about the box.

Or try to order at the same time as other items to reduce the chance it will be shipped alone in a bubble mailer.

Or if you can, choose a pick-up site like an Amazon Locker.
It may reduce the handling by USPS who usually do the processing of Amazon packages...

These monolithic corporations will never hold themselves accountable which is why there is growing talk of breaking Amazon up.  I ordered a $90 cooking top that came broken and they wouldn't let me return it.  Unbelievable.  **** Amazon

It looks like they came from two separate locations. Still odd since I ordered both sets at once.

Was it from a third party or Amazon itself?
