Just came here to post about Fairground Mixer.... I finally caved and ordered 75059 Sandcrawler @ $236.76. I've put off ordering it since I came out of my dark ages about two years ago... finally pulled the trigger. Xmas in October!

Will probably get canceled, most of the items on his store are selling for 5.08, so I'm guessing setup error. But good luck! He might be one of those rare vendors that own their price mistakes instead of cancelling them

I think I prefer the Akro Mils 10144 case more though as it is half small trays and big trays.

For what it's worth, I had never had something similar to store LEGO, but I got the 10144 last week and found it to be quite useful. I was able to put some CMFs in the big bins (most of them fit standing up), and hope to be able to organize my stuff better.

Keep an eye on Amazon, sometimes they get them back in. It was a good deal, but I have a couple already and money is tight. Hoping they do make another appearance at that price somewhere

A set like #60097 is super easy to sell or trade away the sections you don't care for. (Except probably the helicopter, might be hard to find takers for that)

For me I think it's just that everything in 60097 feels incomplete or a smaller version of something you can get elsewhere. I think this would have to drop to $50 for me to be interested in picking it up.

Except the AstroTrolley takes up, what, a third of the set? I could more easily invest in a Modular, or a series of Creator buildings.

I think that after modulars and even the more basic creator sets, you get 'unused' to having buildings that are not complete, or completely closed. I get that, first and most, these are sets for children who will actually play with them and having 'open' sets is necessary, but for the rest of us (mostly AFOL) that will not play but display them, it doesn't work well.

That said, i want the LEGO store and trolley. I really want the trolley.

#60097 may not be a grand set, specifically at 189.99 USD, but for under 120 USD? Seems OK to me, as I think all of the individual building sets would likely cost at least 50 USD each if they were sold separately, with the tram, its station and the coffee shop likely being its own set.

#60097 is a set that at retail for $190 I wouldn't touch; and when it came out I said to myself oh this looks cool - unfortunately I won't have this at this price. But fast forward a couple years and a steep enough discount on Amazon and I bought it. The more I think about it the more I feel as though each "set" within the set really is neat and goes well in a nice city layout. Someone mentioned above the use of baseplates - and I think some roadplates really do make all the difference. Long story short, not a bad set.
