#60080 Spaceport 79.99 (33% off)
#60097 City Square 134.98 (29% off)
@Rakul is right... it looks way better with the two extra passenger carts.
I just got a third one to make it even larger and possibly to have an engine on each end.

Just came back from Target with one at 20%... going back as soon as Amazon ships the one I just ordered :)
I was tempted to wait and see if it'll go lower but I since I missed it at this price from Target the other day I had to get it.
Also, not Amazon.com, but jet.com, which is giving 15% off one's next three orders, combined with all the other ways they do discounts (e.g. waive free return shipping, purchase more things in one order), was able to get Jokerland and the Scooby Doo Mansion for $134.80 all-in ($75.46 for Jokerland and $59.34 for Scooby Mansion)! And jet does not charge tax in California like everybody else.
If there was not a response to the Target sale I would compare this to when Amazon went nuts about 2-3 years ago and putting a bunch of exclusives on insanely good prices.
Wonder if the stores really want to get rid of the trains because they cannot sell them and they are just sitting in stock rooms and warehouses everywhere.. Same with the #60097 (which is still 131.99 (31% off) by the way)
Trains have a long shelf life. They have a year or two left.
- 1 dark gray plate 2x4 (Hard to see; any color will do)
- 5 white grill plate 1x2
- 2 white plate 1x3
- 2 dark gray arc bricks 1x4 (Hard to see; any color will do)
- A bunch of white 1x8 bricks... but the extra 1x16, 1x4 and 1x2 will do as substitutes.
And of course a couple of stickers if you want an exact replica.
You will need a lot more pieces if you want to convert the first and last cars into two regular passenger cars. I used the extra car base and motor to create a custom engine (it is just an skeleton engine at the moment).
I hope this helps. Let me know if you needs specifics.
Might be a TRU exclusive in the US. I had to go look where I bought mine, Amazon.fr for $128.
#41104 is $18.99, but Target is $15.19
I hear you. Between Amazon deals and yoyo's promos I have been hurting a bit. I notice that lately a lot of LEGO has been on sale more and more.
Also, there appears to be two entries at Amazon for the #60051 High speed train. I got a notice reporting it is no longer available, but see I have one 'saved for later' that is showing as 92.99, but not in stock until May 31st.
All of these sales with large discounts tells me that stores are not going to buy as much from LEGO the next go around (if stores really are losing money with these sales). I have a hard time believing that LEGO is giving retailers sets for 50% of their retail, and that stores would be wanting to reduce their profits to 10-20% of that by reducing the items 30-40% off of retail. Same with Dimensions.. Seeing the Fun packs at 7.50 is probably where they should have started, but are retailers really only paying 5 dollars for these and then charging 3 times the amount? I can see LEGO doing that but not retailers getting that kind of deal from LEGO.
But what do I know about big business, maybe they are getting such good deals from LEGO.
That's why retailers are able to run those 50% off and 'buy one get one' deals on Dimensions all the time, I bet retailers are getting those for around 25% of rrp. All you get in those packs are a CMF plus a handful of bricks. The disks are next to nothing to produce. So essentially a few dollars AT MOST to manufacture, add a little bit on top for packaging/shipping, and you are making a ton of money.
I am also interested in LEGO business, so thanks for the info.
The #21301 Idea Birds set is available for 38.37 (15% off)
But, yes, I'm sure the prices will become standard like with other sets over time.
