Graphics Files for Custom LEGO Signs

Hi Again: I have attached two files suitable for printing on labels...The files contain a variety of signs that are sized (well, close, anyway) to fit the standard Lego flags, signs, etc...They are .jpg format so they can be easily re sized, cropped, etc...All art is public domain...Please suggest any additional signs you would like to see and I will find them...I included a few national flags, but not all, of course...Again, if you need any particular flag, just let me know...Constructive (?) criticism is always welcome...I will try to upload some additional files of this type when I get another collection together...(Yes, I need a life)...I hope these are of use to some of you, and thanks again for all of your help...

Saving them in a lossless format (PNG) would probably be better than JPEG - there's quite a bit of artefacting visible.

The additional files I have uploaded seem to be vanishing from the Forum...Anybody have any ideas as to why?

It seems like my graphics files are getting combined with prior messages that I have posted...I don't know why, but here goes another method of keeping them together...Here are three files in both png and jpg formats...Hope these manage to stay in the original topic...I will be happy to post lots more if these manage to stay visible and available...Any suggestions on how to do this better would be appreciated!

@LTCSZ Your graphics files are getting combined with other topics because a moderator is merging similar topics together, so that the forums are kept fairly clutter-free. It's nothing against you personally, as it happens to other people too. I think it's just an attempt to keep similar discussions in the same topic.

Because of that it wouldn't surprise me to see this one combined with the other topic, but that doesn't mean your sticker files won't be visible or available, they'll just be in a different topic :)

@LTCSZ I've noted in your other topic that they're being merged into one topic because they're similar topics. For example, your new topic 'Files For Printing (Graphics)' could have been posted as a comment in this topic, as it's essentially the same thing.

One of the jobs of the Moderators is to try to keep the forums fairly clutter-free, and one of the ways they do this is by merging similar threads. I'd expect this one and your other one to be merged into the main thread you created (the scope of which has been expanded by a Moderator to include stickers), which is here.

Please don't take it as a slight against you, it's just one of the ways they keep things tidy around here :)

Thamks for the explanation...I just wish the moderator would combine them with a title that describes them so folks can know what they are looking at...I understand the need to combine to keep down clutter, but I hope readers will be able to locate them...

Don't worry, people will be able to locate them - the Mod renamed your original topic as 'LTCSZ: Looking for assistance in finding parts, stickers for LEGO Railroad Passenger Car', which, while a bit long, nicely covers what is in the topic :)

I actually think people will be able to find them more easily all in one thread, as when you add more to the thread, it'll jump to the top of the list again, and people who are interested will then go in and check what's new. Maybe it's just me, but I think they're more likely to check an updated thread they've read before than read a new thread.

At what size should I print the images?

If you print the entire sheet on 8.5x11 paper, the size should be just about right...I print them on a label sheet 8.5x11 and it works great...If you need a different size, let me know, but you should be able to resize any one if the images with any simple graphics program...

I wouldn't bother rescaling the images. If they are not the correct size, then find the original image and scale from that. Rescaling already small rescaled images is going to lead to poor quality, even at this size.

Another problem using real images is that they don't always look right when used in a lego setting. They are just not lego-like. And they don't always look so good when 1cm high. For example, many of the beer logos are not readable when made 1cm high. If you need a particular company logo, then go for it. Otherwise sometimes it is better to make a more generic looking one. For example, a fairly generic BEER rather than the company based logos.

You really have to think about what can be seen when the images are reduced. I know I have screwed up in the past making a uniform look really great at full screen resolution, which then looks awful when shrunk down to the size of a torso.

Any recommendations for good websites or companies to print a one-off sticker(s) for Lego? I am working on a modular moc that would greatly benefit from at least one sticker. Might also look at using some of these newly posted ones as well if it can be done at a reasonable cost.
