Lists of sets retiring soon

By popular demand, I've added a couple of links to the green Browse drop-down menu and the browse page to make it easier to find sets that are due to retire soon.

Rather than cluttering up the home page with an article every few weeks listing them like other sites do, I encourage you to look through the lists at your leisure.

You can view:

They will always be up-to-date based on the information we acquire from LEGO.com, so there's no longer any need to go hunting for the information elsewhere.

Interesting that three 'mods' are retiring this year and that the Galaxy Explorer is also going to be retired after 1 year. I wonder if the retiring this year list is not correct.

I agree, I'd be curious what information the list is based on, especially, the list of sets "retiring this year."  We're only half way through the year, so I'm curious how Brickset knows what will be retired December 31?  Also, when you click on that link, you get a list of 428 matches.  That must be Lego's entire offerings.  I'm confused.

It's not even half of their current offerings. The "official" retirement dates (that aren't openly and visibly available as far as I know, so I won't go into details about where and how - it comes from LEGO though, so it is accurate) go as far as end of 2026. They do tend to change (based on the popularity and stock, I imagine), but at this point it's unlikely for the 2023 dates to change.

No modulars retired last year, so we're getting Police Station (on regular schedule), Bookshop (that normally would have retired last year) and Assembly Square (that has maybe overstayed its welcome in LEGO's eyes). Galaxy Explorer is indeed a questionable decision.

I guess, I mean I can see Assembly Square being retired 'separately' from the other mods due to its run, but just having a hard time seeing a LOT of sets that just came out being retired.. I mean anything is possible, but still.

Check the LAUNCH/EXIT entry for each set. These dates come from TLG just like most of the other data as far as I know.
