Has anyone who has built the Simpsons House run into this possible mistake by TLG? Page 69 of book 3 calls for 4 1x8 plates. They supplied (3) 1x8 plates and (2) 1x4's.

Mine was perfectly fine. It came with the usually suspicious extra studs and miscellaneous pieces, but nothing was missing.

I did not have that problem with mine. Although I could see that factory mistake slipping through the bag weight checker.

Uh oh, sounds like you got to go back through all the books and check if you used a 1x8 instead of 1x4's. Could be TLG's mistake too, I hate when I have to go back and find a mistake, I just wanna build.

^The bags are all numbered. This was bag #7 and the final steps in the build. No reason to go back and check. The only brown used is for the removable roof sections.

So it was the last pieces for the roof? I should check my model, I might have the same number batch as you.

Yes. The last pieces. The step calls for (4) 1x8 brown plates to help brace the roof.

If this is true, then you do not "own" the set since the instructions clearly calls for
4 1x8 plates and your's was obviously tampered with by substituting one of the 1x8 plates for 2 1x4 plates. :-)

But the set was purchased technically "incomplete". The whole things needs to be returned and a new one swiftly exchanged for and built to ensure 100% accuracy and completion.

Ok fruitcakes. Don't.start that in this thread; the other thread is bad enough.

    Somebody probably said this already.
Flanders who is notoriously left handed in the Simpsons, has been pictured holding a spatula in his right hand. Maybe this is why he opened the Leftorium shop. :)
Why have TLG done this? When they normally put things in the left hand of the minifig so that the body is clearly displayed?
As per the comic/paper in Bart's left hand.

Only a minor thing, but it bugs me. Doh!

Takers on the over/under on the EOL for this set with the Kwik-E-Mart due out soon? I wonder with the 199.99 USD price tag what that will do to the sales especially being an exclusive. I mean gosh even just grabbing two personal copies sets you back a cool $400.00.

I've always assumed  they don't really pay attention to things like that and just place the figure however looks best.  There are lots of instances of right-handed's holding in their left, and vice versa.  Oh well :)
