With the Minifig series due in May that lines up with the 'exclusive to [email protected]' window of three months. So regular retailers will get the figs and the house to sell at the same date.

Am a big Simpsons fan but will wait I think, its a decent price for what it is, but I'll wait for a decent deal. I loved the original photos, but in close-up and detail it looks a lot smaller than I thought.

But good effort, cannot see any other buildings being done to be honest, not sure any are iconic enough

    What no nuclear power plant?
  • legomattlegomatt Member Posts: 2,543
Ignoring pressure groups and social issues, I'd have:

Top Tier: Moe's Tavern, Nuclear Powerplant, Bart/Lisa's School

Then: Quick-E mart, Android Dungeon comic book store, Krusty-burger,
But from here, everything is as valid as anything else, Donut shop, Police/Town hall, Bowlerama, Chapel, Leftorium (but it's in a megamall).

    Can't see it happening though.

I could see Bart's treehouse being likely.
    Lego loves trees.

The prototypes that women shows look much better with their eyes full open.

Why does Lisa look like shes got depression???

  • epyon396epyon396 Member Posts: 268
    Because she does :P

If you want to get a feel for the potential of this line, look to the World of Springfield toys by Playmates a number of years back. I think when all was said and done, the line had 200-ish figures, though that included approx 20 variants of Bart and 20 of of Homer. They also had a pretty extensive line of playsets. Though these were basically there to feature the sounds/lines of the characters, there was still a wide range of environements.

I didn't like how the house looked from the outside, then I got a better sense of the scale and started to love it--especially the dollhouse style opening. BUT, the interior pics make it seem crowded, small, and a bit uninspired. I am a Simpsons fan, but I just don't love what they've done here. Conceptually, it's cool, but I don't think they pulled it off completely.

    And Lisa's Sax.

(I can't see it in the photos).

Don't forget the CMF series. I think it likely that Lisa will come with a sax.

Oh yeah, I know. The cynic in me said 'they've left that tiny detail out on purpose, just to make you chase another Lisa in the figs'.
And i didn't like that thought. It's either a daft oversight, or just, well, a bit mean spirited really. (Of course, Lisa's sax might be in the set, just not mentioned or photo'd).

Could always steal a sax from the Sax Guy in Series 11! But yeah, Lisa without her sax would be strange... I mean... it's in the credits...

^ It can be also cheaply made, duplicating the brick made one from #10222

Yep, it would be like Homer without a Doughnut. :)

They could do a limited edition CMF line at halloween with loads of characters from the treehouse of horrors.

Im sure they would sell really well
  • rchaddrchadd Member Posts: 187
they are making mistake if its a whole set of cmf. i will not buy any! simpsons as a theme has limited appeal - hate it.

I think I've made my mind up here... I'm buying this house on day one, it's a gorgeous house in it's own right...

But I will be evicting The Simpsons - or rather, in true Simpsons fashion, I'll gather an angry mob of LEGO minifigures with pitchforks and torches (btw, they are CMF's that are angry about The Simpsons "invading" their CMF line). That should make The Simpsons pack their bags and go for sure!

    (I kid - I like The Simpsons ;-) )

    Donuts Shop

I can name lots of buildings as well, I don't see any of them massively likely, maybe the treehouse. I don't see them doing a bar, and the power plant, and kwik-e-mart, would require too much detail.

Its not often that a series is full of £200 sets, especially a small one, if you do a full series, you need the cheaper sets.

surely this is one off. i hope it is!

What is the point of your comments? Why are you in this thread if you don't like the theme?
  • doriansdaddoriansdad Member Posts: 1,337
An exclusive Burns Manor would be awesome.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
@rchadd After Lego saw your comment, they decided to go all-in and make the Simpsons a permanent theme. There will be wave after wave after wave of new sets, plus 2 more CMF series to really make sure they get their point across. Which is, those who enjoy and like the Simpsons will get what they wished for. While those that don't can leave the party (and this thread) to kick rocks.

They don't all have to be full-on buildings. A couple of sets that would be easy to come up with would be the school bus with Otto and a Krusty Studio with Krusty and Sideshow Bob (or even Mel). A backyard treehouse set to complement the family house seems obvious.

Are we assuming a 1 per customer limit on this one...never mind the limits discussion happening in the thread that shall not be named.

Simpson House up on the Australian [email protected], priced at $329.99AUD. Pretty much what I expected.

For those interested, below is the price in AUD for each region. (Done a few days ago), even though sales tax isn't included for the US, North America gets the best of it.

    US $224.82
    CA $238.42
    DE $305.85
    AU $329.99
    UK $333.46
    DK $348.34

Per usual. Always astonishes me that DK has the highest price!

^ Denmark have the highest sale tax, and the UK and Germany also have much higher sales tax rTes than Australia.

    In Czech it's listed for 4999czk, roughly US$ 250.

Not bad compared to the other EU prices.

Does anyone else think that this is going to sell out quite quickly on the first production run?
  • epyon396epyon396 Member Posts: 268
I could see that. I've seen people talking about it on pretty much every major social media site. It's even being discussed on forums that I frequent that have never had a Lego related post.
I know those don't automatically equal sales, but there's a ton of buzz.

I hope they do some variations of Homer in the CMF line, especially Mr Plow.

    And shirtless Flanders.

Does anyone in Denmark pay full price, ever? I have this crazy idea/fantasy that they all work for LEGO or are related to someone who is and/or they get access to frequent factory "sales". ;)

So, I have a so called #firstworldproblem I guess. I love Lego houses and I like the Simpsons, but I'm definitely not a huge fan or so. I have seen three or four episodes and I love to play the iPad game.

I have the money to buy it when it comes out in February. But I'm not sure about it. If you take the Simpsons theme away and compare it with a modular building it looses. But it is a house and I love houses... plus I will regret it later when it isn't available any more. (I'm not a seller person, so selling the figures to earn some money is not an option).

Do you guys think that this house will still be available in a year? Or better: How much time do I have to decide if I really want it or not? Is it expected to be around until 2015?
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
^You will have plenty of time throughout 2014 and 2015, so no rush =)

The attractive part of this house is that it opens up hinge-wise (Like Haunted House) but also top-down levels with removable roof and floor (Like Modulars). The interior rooms are segmented to create individual spaces that are walled off from one another (Unique and a first for any Lego house). When you put all those points together, and its a must-buy just to experience the build. Then you add the Simpsons on top to make it iconic.

@CCC - Stealth Swimmer (Team GB) torso would do for one of your fig variations
