Is it a Lego Shop exclusive? I suppose not many retailers sell sets that expensive.
Build The Simpsons™ House with detachable roof, modular design, car with dent, the famous family couch, 6 minifigures and so much more.
Recreate hilarious scenes from the classic animated TV series with The Simpsons™ House. Taken right out of Springfield, this amazing model is crammed with tons of LEGO® brick detail. Lift off the roof and open up the house to discover Homer and Marge's big family bedroom including bed and Maggie's crib, Bart's room with his skateboard and Krusty the Clown poster, Lisa's room with her favorite books, jazz poster and more, and bathroom with shower, toilet, sink and mirror. Lift off the top floor to reveal the fully-fitted kitchen with dining table, chairs, yellow and light-blue tiled floor and lots of pots, pans and other accessories. Then it's into the living room with couch and TV playing Itchy and Scratchy, purple piano and more. Next to the house is the detachable garage, complete with workbench, tool rack, vacuum cleaner, broom, toolbox, tools and the family car, complete with dent (because only in a LEGO world are dents a plus!), opening trunk and 'radioactive' bar from the nuclear power plant. Step outside onto the terrace and you'll find loads of cool items, including a grill, wheelbarrow and air conditioning unit with 'Property of Ned Flanders' decoration, sausages, 2 garden loungers, flowerpots, a shovel, 2 fruit cocktail glasses, Lisa's camera, Bart's skateboard ramp with 'El Barto' graffiti and an antenna on the roof. The Simpsons™ House is the perfect collector's item for fans of all ages. Includes 6 minifigures: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie and Ned Flanders.

The video was surprisingly light on details. Usually they explain every little item. But that's ok - I am excited to discover this one on my own.
(I am a bit of an overhang obsessive, and will change the roll so it's 'the right way' if it's underhanging in the loo at work!)
Me? I don't care. She's married to me and not him, coincidence? I'll leave that to you to decide! :)
Oh my god. I just noticed the "Property of Ned Flanders" sticker on the wheelbarrow. Too perfect.
It looks incredible, and does the house justice! Figures look great too.
At $199, I think it will do fine. I'd be happier with less, but if they do $249, then they are nuts.
It is nice, but not that nice. They can get away with it for EV, only because that is SW, this isn't Star Wars.
Oh, that wasnt postedm but the set is available feb 1
I don't think it would go over well if the main characters, in some form, weren't available in the CMF line. And given that the minifigures included with the house look like variants, I think they will be.
I'd probably also make the car symmetric at the front. I guess the cheese slopes on the left hand side of the bonnet / hood are meant to suggest damage, but I don't think they look so good.
Glad she passed him back the final versions that actually look pretty nice.
The PR is about the same part count, for $160. So this set is $40 more. Is it because there are larger parts? If so, fair enough. Is it just because of the licence?
If so, fair enough, but it would be interesting to know the cause.
For the sake of comparison, another licence set --> Tower of Orthanc from LOTR is 2359 pieces and it's $199.99.
This one has 2523 piece for the same price so it's a better deal!
...Wait no Doughnuts??
So don't get me wrong, I do think this is a great effort, and if i was a big Simpsons fan, i'd be all over it because there's so many things they've done so so well, but it isn't without some significant issues that, equally, were I a big simpsons fan, would irk me quite a bit, and more importantly (for Lego), put me (an undecided type) off completely.
Namely, (having seen the show many times) I'm finding the internal layout of the rooms a bit questionable, to say the least. Of course, they didn't have to do them, but they have. I am bearing in mind that over the years the animated show has (naturally) had the odd inconsistency and some artistic license, but still, if it's a model of the simpsons house with interiors that i'm forking out £175 for, I shouldn't be looking at a complete re-build to get it 'right'.
The front room should be where the bay window on the front of the house is, with a second living space behind that. The stairs/landing shouldn't (and never) turned back on itself, but runs a T-junction at the stair head. This in turn means the entire interior upstairs is then 'off' in some way too. There are other things, but to list would be boring in a thread post (and more suited to a review), such as the main bedroom losing its en-suite.
And Lisa's Sax.
(I can't see it in the photos). Yes, it's only a small piece, and easily solved for a lego fan bricklinking bits, but come on, in a set as complete as this tries to be, it's her most iconic thing. Homer shouts at her to stop playing it, the opening credits roll with her playing it. Entire episodes feature it. It's effectively her light sabre.
Apart from that, nice (if expensive) set. :o)
