Pictures have finally emerged of this fantastic set thanks to eurobricks user Carlos S (The same one that posted images for the lego movie pirate ship).

He also told me he will try to get more images of this set (who knows we may even see some more new ones) :D

That is awesome. Will be a must buy for me.

I guess it could've been pink though to be correct. But it still looks good.

That is absolutely fantastic. Drooling here.

Wow. That's awesome. It even opens up like the haunted house.

I really wanted to stay away from any Simpsons merchandise, but now it looks like that ain't gonna happen.

I'm not a Simpsons fan....but somehow I like this set.

Oh dear, 2500 pieces. That is going to be expensive. I want it so much, it looks great.
  • kwkwkwkw Member Posts: 1,209
Hopefully we get a Santa's little helper and a Snowball in a set since they are shown on the box

As a house, I gotta admit that is absolutely stunning. I'd love to get a better view of the inside of the house to see if they've done all the rooms properly.

But my main niggle with it isn't the minifigs actually (though I don't particularly like them myself) - it's the car. It just feels too skinny compared to the actual car, but that might just be me :-)

As for price, I imagine such a beast of a licensed set easily creeping up to the £200 mark - but that's my guess.

LEGO did well on this one.

It appeals to Simpson's fans and non-Simpsons fans. It's a set that separates well from the theme, and can be a great standalone as an addition to a city scene.
  • collect_thatcollect_that Member Posts: 1,327
I'm not the worlds biggest Simpsons fan, and was groaning at another Licensed theme hitting the LEGO line up, especially one that maybe doesn't exactly fit in with LEGO .... but I have to say I think this set's pretty cool and just by looking at the front of the box the designers have done a really good job. As well as a nice looking display set, it's screaming playability.

I have high hopes for the other sets now, let's just see what the price tag comes in at though first...?

I too am drooling over this set, Im loving all of the nice details in here, is that a new piece or a friends spatula that Flanders is wielding? The plutonium rod is exactly as I expected however Im loving all of the figures, some great new moulds in here and I am liking the short sleeved printed arms aswell as the small printed legs. Marges skirt material is looking very nice too. I'm liking how lego have also made this into a large set to house the minifigures however my wallet is screaming right now. Its nice to see that they seem to have included most rooms (excluding the basement off course).

The fact that the house is in tan instead of pink is no problem to me. Like I said I hope Carlos gets us a picture of the back of the box as this one is kind of hard to make a complete judgement. The el Barto sticker is a nice inclusion on the skateboard ramp aswell as the car. I hope the price isn't too costly to say its licensed but oh so many pieces. I cant wait to add this cool 'dolls house' to my collection.
    :-D

That's a lot of tan bricks! It's also a lot of bricks in general. I'm going to guess at $199/£249, given that Ewok Village was 2000 pieces and £199.

Absolutely fantastic, I am sure the bank balance will be taking a hit when this is released I love the look of it!

This has gone straight on the buy list.
@Paperballpark The licence for The Simpsons may well be cheaper than it is for Star Wars (esp as it's untested as yet) so it may not be that different to the modular sets. It may be £200 as well.

I am a self confessed Simpsons fanatic so this will be a must buy for me. It is everything I hope it would be and more!

Possibly, but I think that might be just a bit too cheap for it, given all the new molds.

Also, I spot SNOT use on the upstairs windows!

I think Maggie's legs will be a 1x2 brick or a couple of 1x2 plates. It looks like her feet might be two 1x2 jumper plates, but I really can't tell too well...

I know my Simpsons and they got the house (at the very least the shape) right but the figures look a little awkward. Not sure whats going on with Barts eyes or Marges expression unless shes making her "mrmmmm..."(or grumble) face. Homers eyes half shut fit the character but are odd physically

  • One of our local retailers has this listed as a May arrival at ZAR 2,649.00 which is around £155, so it may actually come in below the £200 mark in the UK.

If not, use that as an excuse to visit Cape Town and pick up some cheap(ish) LEGO :)

Ay, caramba! That set looks amazing, exactly what I was hoping for. The price is going to £250 I expect but it's an absolute must have for me. Looking forward to details of the rumoured CMFs to go alongside it soon..

It's a Friends piece. Funnily enough the same one my Flanders figure wields. :)

This is a must-have! I love that fact that the house feels complete and is not just the front of it. I look forward to building this one!

Definitely not a Simpsons fan, but the set does look nice. Either way, I probably won't get it...

That said, I would get a nuclear power plant if they offered one for sure...just to do some MOCing. So many possibilities!

Is it possible this is the set that VP fans can buy early on the February Lego Store Calendar? Just a thought

It looks like a radioactive rod thrown on the floor in front of the car.

^ makes sense since it is part of the opening theme that ends at the house.
  • BrickarmorBrickarmor Member Posts: 1,258
I was not expecting the house to be built on this scale. I was thinking something under $100 akin to Olivia's House. But this is a very bold and very welcome move. My guess is $220 RRP. I'll eat my shorts if it's less.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
Licensed and 2500 pieces I am guessing $259 or more.
  • charlatan13charlatan13 Member Posts: 118
I haven't watched the show in years (I think I watched up through season 12) but I do try to catch the Halloween specials each year. I imagine that I will be buying this set once I see it in the store. I'm hoping that Lego and the Simpsons writers collaborate on an episode sometime in the near future to promote the line. If the other sets rekindle my interest I can see more purchases of the line as they are revealed.

I'm not a Simpsons fan at all, but as long as it stays around the $200 mark it will be a must buy for me. Even if I just build it and hide the mini-figures from display, it's a nice looking house.

Completely agree with a large number of the above posts. The house looks especially appealing and I am greatly looking forward to picking this up. At that piece count and being licensed I easily see this as a $199 - $219.99 set.

I'm a very "casual" Simpsons fan, but this is on a "must-buy" list of mine. I'll be buying this as soon as it comes out.
  • BlueMoonUSABlueMoonUSA Member Posts: 116
Hoping for less...but I'd put this in the $249.99 price point.
  • ninjagolightlyninjagolightly Member Posts: 140
Imagine if it had a sound brick that played the opening bars of the Simpsons opening sequence theme (which is my favorite thing about the Simpsons actually).

I've disliked the idea of a Simpson line since it was rumored.
I will however admit this is an impressive set. Would pick up on discount for MOCing.

I think more like $250-$300 range.

My guess is $249... I guess we could be surprised with something in the range of $219-239 though. This set will be mutually beneficial to Lego and the Simpsons, so Fox may have given some concessions or not charged a licensing fee, etc.
  • chuckpchuckp Member Posts: 684
With the exception of Bart's "shifty eyes", this set is an absolute home run in my book. Excellent job LEGO designers!

Anyone else besides me hope that if they continue the Simpsons line, they keep it to a big, detailed set once a year, rather than watering it down with tons of tiny add-ons?
