Has anyone got Peril in Peru 7628?

Looking for set 7628 for sale, perhaps a fellow Bricksetter has one they are interested in selling? (would be posting to Australia).

Used is fine, preferably all pieces. It would be great to get the whole set, but the aeroplane on it's own is good too.

Otherwise does anyone have any suggestions to get pieces for making a Lego DC 3, especially the engines?

I have the complete set and I can recommend it, but it's not for sale! In general for a Lego DC-3 I would actually recommend getting the Cobi C-47 kit that's coming out next month.

@iwybs Thank you for replying. Glad you like it and although naturally it would have been great if it was for sale, I certainly don't blame you keeping yours!
Thanks for the tip regarding COBI C47!
Unfortunately COBI is very difficult to get in Australia (whereas it was often sold beside Lego in Europe). Certainly a cheaper option though! Do you know if the DC 3/C47 (there is a grey one and a green one), has prints or stickers? One German language review I looked at had what appeared to be a sticker sheet, although I seem to recall Jangbricks mentioning prints for COBI models.

I have a good windscreen and nose part to mod the Peril in Peri set but to buy the original set (even used) is too expensive (I bought one in 2020...which never arrived. The Bricklink seller seemed legit enough, it was probably 'borrowed' by someone in transit). It's fun modifying official sets and good having a Lego model. I've looked at a number of COBI products but I often find they are too obviously non-Lego. The DC 3 could be a good option though.

@iwybs I'm trying to compare wing dimensions for the COBI C 47 and Lego aircraft, do you know how big the COBI plane would be compared to a Lego plane? Would the wings be about the same size as the standard City 'BIG' passenger plane with the big wing piece?

What's the dimensions of your Peril in Peru DC 3?

Lego 7628, released in 2008: 37 studs long, 58 stud wingspan, seats approx. 5 minifigs
Cobi 5743, upcoming release in June 2023: 50.6 studs long, 74.4 stud wingspan, seats 2 minifigs

The Lego is a lot more playable, the Cobi is a much better scale model (1:48).

The big City passenger jets have about a 56 stud wingspan. The new Cobi set will be all prints, no stickers.

@iwybs Thanks for the info! Makes it a tad difficult if the COBI DC 3 takes up most of my airport RIP. All prints is a tad annoying too for a non-military setting.

You could buy the older kit 5702, which has a very light gray color for a Berlin Airlift setting, and scrub off the USAAF insignia. That one is at a slightly smaller scale, so it would fit better in your airport. Hard to get in Australia though.

@iwybs Yeah I was looking at that one, interesting to know it's at a smaller scale. Hopefully I could remove Camel Caravan to Berlin.

I was wondering whether it would be possible to do a Bricks & Pieces order for Peril in Peru? I tried the set number of Peril in Peru, that didn't work. Then I tried 60208 into the system (for that engine cowling piece), nothing. So I tried the set number of N1 Mandalorian Starfighter (which is a 2022 set I know has part 60208), and part 60208 came up! (with it's official jargon name). I was able to ring up Lego Customer Service when I wanted just the 2nd floor of the Boutique Hotel, the lady was able to send me an Excel spreadsheet with all the pieces from bags 7, 8 and 9. Then I unfortunately had to individually go through each piece and order it.

Do you know of any faster ways of ordering all the pieces from Peril in Peru? I wouldn't get those transparent container pieces though.

Sorry, I'm not a Bricklink whiz or a Bricks & Pieces whiz.

@iwbys That's alright, thanks for all your help! Do you know where I could find the exact dimensions of the Berlin Airlift C 47? I did eventually find the D Day C 47 dimensions on Amazon, and I've found a website selling the Berlin Airlift C 47 but it doesn't have the dimensions. Originally I just assumed they were the same size, but if the Berlin Airlift one is smaller than that's good.

that one is 55.6 studs long, 70 studs wide
maybe I did the math wrong
    5702 is 44.5cm long, 56cm wide
5743 is 40.5cm long, 59.5cm wide, so actually a little smaller
    1 stud is 8mm
the stud count on 7628 is right

@iwybs LOL This quick maths is doing my head in XD. I got 70 and 74 studs respectively.
I hope I am not taking up too much of your time. If I had Lego with me at the moment that would help but I don't.
Okay if I had in front of me 5702 (Grey DC 3), 5743 (Green DC 3) and 7628 (Lego DC 3), how many baseplates (32x32) would I need to have under each one? (I'm guessing like 4, not sure).
I'm trying to remember how much baseplate space my City Passenger plane (which I remade into an Avro Tudor) took up. My airport has been packed away for like 3 years now RIP. Also confusing because my entire airport was a mixture of 48x48 and 32x32s baseplates. Four 48x48s is 9 32x32 baseplates.

I don't use baseplates, you're on your own for that question.
