Finally Gone?

The 6212 X-Wing Fighter is finally listed as SOLD OUT on Shop-at-Home. Of course, who knows if this is permanent? It was marked as such back in early 2008 and actually disappeared from their listings altogether for a bit. Then a few more appeared in stock (during which I stocked up on five of them) and sold out again before reappearing once more and holding steady ever since (much to my dismay at rushing to order five at that time and not more of other sets that didn't reappear).

What do you think? Care to take odds on whether or not this is the X-Wing's curtain call or just a refuel?

I was told by a member of staff at [email protected] that the xwing was about to be discontinued just before the shadow trooper promo which prompted me to buy 5 of them =)

I'd wager this iteration is now done but a new X-Wing should return in 2 years once the Falcon is retired.

You have to admit, that's a heckuva production run for a modern day Lego set, 3 years and 8 months.

In the US it is gone from Amazon and from the US TRU website (not just removed from display; the TRU product ID no longer registers). So it may be the final hurrah.

The big question, is how long will they wait before replacing it with a new & improved (more expensive) X-Wing?

I have a few already from previous sales and whatnot.. My guess is they will not go for much, considering how long they were out and that the usual suspects will have a lot more copies than just four....

Well, now both the X-Wing (6212) and the Death Star have been pulled from TRU's website. I know that the place for the X-Wings on the shelves has also been removed from both of the B&M TRUs nearby.
