Not sure if this has been posted, but TRU US currently has EDB for $58.99. It's discounted to $78.99 and you can get an additional $20 off with code 963877. Pretty rare to find a 50% deal through TRU online. For some reason, the code only works for 3 copies of the set, rather than the 4 that TRU allows you to buy.

    The code also works with Jabba's Sail Barge and brings the price on that down to $70.

    Coast Guard Patrol #60014 is $44.24 at the moment too, no code required. MSRP is $80.

    Seems like TRU turned into the Good Cop over night. Guess being in critical financial condition going into the holidays really shocks their system into being competitive. Hope they keep it up!

    Nevermind, I see. You need to add it to your cart first. 25% discount applies to that set, the Chima Eagle's Castle, and Chima Gorilla Striker.

    963877 only works on "• Star Wars Jabba’s Sail Barge" or "• Ninjago Epic Dragon Battle" only. it does take 20$ off on Star Wars Jabba’s Sail Barge and brings it down to @ $69.99 plus tax ....

    Yea, no kidding... it has been... many months since I even bothered... but for this price, yea, I'll get a few... that set will be over purchased due to the red boxed Ninjago craze, but frankly, with Ninjago coming back, having a few at that price won't go wrong.

    I don't think. :)

    It really is a great set, my son built it a year ago, very sturdy dragon.

    looks like they fixed the prices and put them back to full price for those items. I got the sail barge and had the coast guard set in my cart and the price changed on me. I was so close.

    It works. You need to clear all toysrus cookie in your browser and retry. I used chrome and can selectively remove them.

    It works but the base prices have been adjusted so the savings is not as good as it was.

    I noticed the price bump up after I made the inital purchase. Knowing Toysrus, I cleared the cookies and redo the cart, goes back to sales price. I did this in Chrome browser just now.

    Coast Guard switched to pick-up only mid-checkout. :( Not really an issue except that they removed the items on the final click, so they charged shipping for the 3rd item that was available to ship. Dirty.

    I join the others basking in the recent love TRU is showing. Who knows if it's a result of excessive inventory, clearing shelf space, feud with Lego or death throws from Bain, it's nice to get some actual deals these days.

    Now, let's see a B2G1 sale with no restrictions. C'mon TRU, I know you have it in you. Think like it's 2010!

    I order a jabba barge for 70 buck at store pick up at 8:30 am and didnt have any issues with it. Just got done picking it up was 75 something after taxes

    I had price issues while using my phone's browsers last night, but I was able to order the Epic Dragon Battle set this morning for store pick-up for the $58.99 price, $64.30 with tax.

    I ordered 3x of each last night at 9:00 PM PST. Early this morning I got shipment confirmation for 3x Coast Guard Patrol, 3x Jabba's Sail Barge but for only 2x Epic Dragon Battle. I'm not sure yet if that's because they're only fulfilling 2 or if it's because 1 is shipping separately.

    This deal went frontpage on a deals site 3 hours later, so that zapped all their online inventory. Get it for in-store pick up if you still can.

    Those deal sites are amazing when it comes to traffic, are they not?

    Makes me wonder how much those people really want stuff, or if they are just deal hunters and will buy almost anything that is "a deal".

    To an extent, I'm guilty of the latter. There definitely is a frenzied mentality. The mantra "act first, think later" comes to mind, and it's necessary because you risk missing out on the deal if you take too long to decide.

    To that end, I tend to keep a running list of high ticket items and the price I'm willing to pay for them. That way I'm ready to jump on deals when they happen and I reduce my wishy-washiness when it comes to pulling the "Place Order" trigger. This was a perfect example. I saw the post, then went right over and dove in because it was (well) below my threshold for this particular set. Seconds can definitely matter in these situations.

    Have you tried re-ordering with in-store pickup, assuming the local store has them? The sets were removed from my shipping order and I placed a 2nd order for pickup and they're supposedly available.

    I made three EDB orders myself, all store pickup. One was a success, the others were cancelled. I figured it could mean they only had one at the store. I went to the store and walked by the Ninjago aisle with 5 on the shelf. Mine were canceled because they had an novice running the system, so they let me get the others for the same price, though I still only went with three total because the rest had serious security band scars.

    ^^ I had checked for in-store pickup and it was unavailable at the stores near me. It wasn't listed out of stock for me after I had received the cancellation e-mail, so I was posting here to make sure others knew they didn't actually have it in stock.

    I really should be saving for the VW Van as a Christmas preset for a buddy but this price was just too nice to pass up ;D

    My TRU said none in stock but they did have some dragons and tons of Sail Barges.. I'm not even seeing the Sail Barge online right now

    This was actually posted on a major deal site last night at around 10PST, it was only working for a handful of people at the time and I did some refreshing and some other things people were saying to make it work but the price remained the same. I assumed at the time it was likely a glitch.
    Lo and Behold it was showing up at the reduced price all throughout this morning with no fiddling.

    Possibly a bait and switch to get people talking about real deals at TRU again but unlikely to be an unplanned mistake.

    It is also possible that they simply way over-ordered this set and this is one way to move a large volume of them in a short period of time.

    It also, as you say, has the benefit of getting people talking about TRU and "deals" in the same sentence, which can translate into other sales.

    And frankly, they probably need the cashflow, if they don't outperform this year, as has been discussed, they probably won't survive.
