Was just there today and it was $79.99 thorugh Nov 26. I'll check back tomorrow. That's one I haven't bought yet. That's a steep price for just a few minifigs!

If you create a wish list on there site and spend $100 on it they will give you another $10 gift card. So add this set to the wish list and then you only need to spend another $41 to get the $10 gift card. or you can spend another $50 to get that $10 gift card twice and the wish list gift card. so spend $100 and get $30 in gift cards.

According to the fine print, there is no $10 GC on a "Hot Price Item". Deal is marked a "Red Hot Deal".. so it adds to the confusion.

Another good deal right now if the GC stacks (if you are in Technic) is #9395 at $50 right now at TRU (69.99 RRP)

This is a ridiculously good sale. I would have never in a million years imagined that an exclusive TRU set would be discounted that much. I thought getting it from the LEGO store at 10% off for a damaged box was the best I was going to be able to do. Grr.

here is what the website says.
How does the $10 Wish List Promotion work?
Create a new Wish List or edit an existing one from 11/1-11/27/13. Make purchases at any participating Toys''R''Us or Babies''R''Us store or online from the wish list totaling $100 or more (prior to applicable taxes and fees) from 11/1-12/24/13 and receive a $10 promotional gift via email. Gift card purchases are excluded. Limit one promotional gift card per qualifying wish list. Wish list creator must be age 17 or older. The $10 Promotional Gift Card is delivered straight to the Wish List creator's email between 12/12/13 and 1/9/14 and are valid through 4/30/14 (please refer to email schedule below.). Promotional Gift Cards for guests residing in CT, FL, ME, NH and VT do not expire. Void where prohibited. Valid USA only. Cash value 1/100 of 1¢.

What if I have multiple children? Do I only receive one $10 gift card?
A wish list creator can have up to 6 wish lists associated to their name and email address. Each wish list is eligible to receive a $10 gift card as long as the purchases total $100 or more per wish list, prior to applicable taxes and fees.

and the link to it toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=23729696

And the link to the $10 coupon with $50 purchase. toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=22728306&ab=Tru_homepage_aspot:2:In-Store-Only10-Gift-Card#truhp/110313Valid instore only.

Also they are giving Double rewards points on wednesdays. So if you can truly stack everything then this is a good sale for TRU. It also said you can have up to 6 Wishlists so only put $100 worth of items on each one and get lots of gift cards.

Thanks for the tip on the wish list @goldfreek but I wonder how the online system verifies that you purchased the items on your list in store. Is it linked with your Rewards card, do you have to enter the receipt code...?

@hoyatables just FYI we've been told here in NYC that LBR will no longer be offering damaged box sets with the 10% discount like in the past (this goes back to the the no exclusive discounts thing from the summer). They eliminated the sale corner of the store by me and sale sets are now in their regular spots with a tag on the shelf to alert customers to the deals.

Has anyone made this happen today? There's a link to the coupon for the $10 GC on the fbtb.net post, i didn't check the fine print whether it would stack or not but it's still a decent deal without stacking (although IIRC they've had this set for 75 regularly and as low as 61&change a few times)

@Brickarmor The website says that you need to mention that it is for a wishlist at checkout. when you create a wishlist you enter in your rewards number so it is liked that way also, but it sounds like the cashier has to do something to get it to work.

Yep. The sale price was unmarked and rang up at $59. Got that set, a $10 castle forest ambush, and the $10 gift card for $74.xx with tax. Not bad at all.

$10 gift card was given out on this even though it was a hot price item, so yes it stacked.
Also TRU got an email this morning saying not to price match Walmart - lol!

Well I went to TRU at lunch and got 2 Palpatine and 2 technic tow trucks. I had just crated 2 wish lists with 1 of each on them to meet the $100 threshold. I had the cashier look up the wish lists and she had to print it out with a barcode to scan after she scanned the lego. I had to do 4 separate transactions in order to get the 4 $10 gift cards. I then used the TRU credit card and got 8 points per dollar that will add up to $15 in rewards points. So after I get all the gift cards and rewards I will have spent $236.54 after tax, and then received $60 in gift cards and $15 in rewards. Without the sale at TRU these 4 sets would have been $380. So I think that is a decent savings, especially at TRU.

So I went in and bought a #4207 City Garage, MSRP $119.99, TRU in-store price $135.99

    1. Sale price of $109.99
    2. Used $10 off a $100 purchase coupon from front of my wish book
    3. Used the $10 gift card on $50 purchase coupon
    4. Had my wish list printout scanned for $10 gift card

If all goes well, my net cost for the set should be $79.99 plus tax. Not bad from TRU.

^ That's $5 more than the BF price, but without having to stand in line at 5am :).
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,421
BF set is #60026 Town Square. This was #4207 City Garage released last year. I already got a #60026 earlier this year for 30% off for doing a LUG Showcase display at the LEGO Store. :)

^ Oops, my brain is just too focused on the BF 60026 deal lately :(.

That's a lot of work for each set. And that's assuming you get a cashier who knows what they are doing. Most of the time it takes two or three people to get involved to figure out what to do. No thanks.
