I received an invite last year, but didn't this year. No keychain in February either. My purchases at the store have dropped dramatically though...
After two years on the invite list, I didn't get one this year. I'm guessing because I bought too much, and they have started weeding out the highest spenders.
I did not get one, but asked what the requirements are. I would find it hard to believe that I got beat out of 30-40 spots with transactions, but I wonder if October was counted in this count, as I bought a bunch during October.
Or if it is only transactions, but a dollar amount as well.
If it is transactions only that means some could go buy a keychain every week and be counted for this.
Anyway didn't get one...Yet
Nothing as yet this year.
We are going to the Black Friday event at Downtown Disney, CA. I was so excited when the invitation came that I immediately texted our babysitter to see if she could watch the kids, for an hour, inside Disneyland. Apparently it was one of the stranger requests she has received but fortunately she's free.
I probably have spent more this year than last, but most of my "interactions" with Lego are around the first of the month when I'm trying to see if they have updated their calendar online to determine if it is worth calling in a reservation for the next Lego Club meeting.
I think it makes sense from TLG's perspective if they are excluding the big spenders. TLG does not need to invite the $10k+/year customers. Those will spend the money at [email protected] on BF anyway, in order to get the holiday set number 2 and the rumored triple points.
I got an invite last year after buying only 6 modulars and a couple of small sets all year. Not this year, despite having spent considerably more- they must know I'm hooked and move to the next target.
My wife got her own VIP earlier this year so I could not see anymore what/when she buys me LEGO.
I got one last year and not this year while my spending remained the same, but I understand LEGO reasoning behind it.
It's a shame that I probably won't make it too as work and funds prevent me from doing so.
Guest slot already taken.
I am probably pushing it to get there as I am touring at the moment so will it be worth it?
Have fun, Russ.
Happy campers all round then ! :-D
See you tmrw @DrDaveWatford ! And have fun @Russell844 !
I'm wondering if they are filling the slots that weren't RSVP'd.
Next year, Jenni! Next year...
