Any need 30166 Robin & Redbird Cycle in the UK?

The crossing of wires is unfortunate - maybe @tom4086 wasn't clear with the wording of his request, maybe @margot simply misunderstood and jumped the gun with her order, or maybe it was somewhere in between. But there was obviously no malice from anyone, so for the sake of community could we just put it down to misunderstanding and move on? It's sad to see good Brickset members at loggerheads and even contemplating leaving.

I've also dealt with @tom4086 and it was a pleasant trade, if he says that real-life circumstances prevented him from fulfilling his role in the arrangement then I think he should be given the benefit of the doubt. Even if he could have done more to explain to people who were waiting, these things don't always occur to you when you have real-life issues to contend with.

If I'm being called a fraudster before any money has exchanged hands, then I'm not sure I'm happy to risk this deal, which is a shame for the community as many will miss out. I'm not prepared to lose my reputation as a trustworthy Briskset member for a few disgruntled Americans that decided to venture out and pick up every poly they could find.

Shame really, but once again, a few bad apples ruin it for everyone. There was nothing more I could have done, so I apologise, but I'm not prepared to risk everyone's money in this way.

^@tom4086 I think you have set the record straight. There was a lot of confusion generated by this offer and now it is clear why. Everyone including you was trying to be helpful. As with most good deals, it is not realistic to wait 10 days and still find them available. Have a great weekend,

it seems a lot of dirty water being washed in public on this thread and lots of toys being thrown out of the pram ..

a prime example of something that should have been dealt with by the various members via pm, and pontificating on the rights and wrongs of the deal, reminds me more of trolling than anything constructive



anyway .. anyone got a spare robin and redbird for sale ???

^ For anyone who is missing out since this deal fell through, I have two spare polys that I'm willing to sell at cost. The total will be roughly $12.75 (cost, tax, shipping, and Paypal fees).

@tom4086, I apologize if my comment sounded like a criticism, but it was not meant that way. I do know how hard it is to organize a trade like this. It takes a lot of work to accommodate everyone and I'm sorry that you had a lot of undeserved grief and drama. I only wanted to offer up some polys for those people that might have been waiting/hoping for these.

I've arranged to get the #30166 Robin & Redbird Cycle polys from @ColoradoBricks, to be distributed to European bricksetters at cost. I can't promise an exact price yet (you know how it is with potential customs and all), but should be between GBP 4.00 and 6.50 per poly plus postage.

Once I receive the package (hopefully in 2-4 weeks; again, you know how it is), I'll post the details and take "orders".
