Hi all,

Looking to try and get a few of these sent over to the UK and happy to distribute to anyone who wants one. Price still to be determined but will be at cost.

If you're in the UK and need one, please PM me to arrange.

Many thanks!

    Okay,

So I've PM'd pretty much everyone that showed interest with total costs.

I've arranged a deal with @ColoradoBricks for 37 Polys, but thanks @margot for the offer!

Anyone have any feedback for @ColoradoBricks? Apparently they've dealt with you @CapnRex101?

@tom4086, you told me in a message yesterday that you needed 30 -40 , and I replied that I had a pending order for you. I told you yesterday that I definitely had 30 and this morning that I got the 40 you needed. I wondered why I heard nothing back from you. Now I know. Not the way to treat a fellow bricksetter imo.....

@margot is also highly recommended (by me). She got me some US exclusives in return for some UK ones.

I'm also interested in one or two of these if anyone can help/willing to ship to Romania. I can either buy or trade.

I've not heard from @tom4086 so I guess I missed out - if anyone else manages to get some, such as @SirKevbags , I'd be very interested in a couple.

Seems like there are going to be a lot of disappointed Bricksetters unless you also had a third deal in the works @Tom4086?

I bought a lot of #30166 for Tom4096, after I made a special trip to TRU and offer to send them at cost. Tom4096 went silent after I sent him the pictures and the payment information. I hope no one on this forum sent him any money...
He played the same trick on @margot and me and unfortunately from now on I will think twice before trying to help someone.
If anyone is interested with 37 #30166, they are available at a lot right now. If I do not get an offer within a few days, I can break up the lot and offer worldwide shipping.

I also hope this was not a scam, I offered some at cost and after an initial response, never heard back...

Same here also had 40 of them for him and after two response nothing. Sadly I could not hold onto them and they went back to TRU.

So I try and help people out and because I have events in my life that unfortunately mean Lego isn't a priority, I'm quickly branded a scam artist, trickster and any other slanderous name people choose to see fit.
No one sent me any money, I just haven't had time last week to sort this deal out.
I'm sorry and promise to never try to help others again on Brickset!
USA folk seem so inpatient, I don't get what the deal is.
If you want to PM me to discuss, please feel free.
    I'm pretty disappointed tbh

I would like to say that I've dealt with @tom4086 on numerous occasions, both in trade and purchase, and he's never been less than fair, honest and generous to me. Real life can happen to any of us at any time, and I'm sure he'll sort things to everyone's satisfaction. Please, folks, be patient and understanding. :-)

    @coloradobricks

Can't start a PM for some reason but drop me a message with how much you are looking for and I might be able to resurrect the deal. I'm in the UK also.

^^ Well said, Carl. It's unfortunate but sometimes we can't always reply to messages quickly because of circumstances in the real world. Hopefully this can be resolved easily.
@Tom4086, thanks again for organising this bulk deal.
  • joel4motionjoel4motion Member Posts: 959
Just re-read my post and it may read that I am looking to hijack the deal??? Definitely not if it does read that way.
I have also dealt with @tom4086 with no issues and if for whatever reason he cannot continue the deal then I may be able to help out and do the easy bit. He has done all the leg work and PM replying....

I have a small number of these already in transit from the States courtesy of @margot. I intend putting most of them up here either for trade or at cost price to me (tbc in case I get clobbered for VAT and import duty)

Please don't PM me about this as I'm going away for a few days shortly and will have limited time and 3G access plus I don't have them in hand just yet.

As soon as they arrive I will start a new thread for them.

Tom, you sent several people out to buy multiple polys for you with the intent of only dealing with whoever got back to you first. Then you said you made a deal with @ColororadoBricks but proceeded to ignore him/her for almost 10 days, with no PMs. Lego may not be your priority but that doesn't give you the right to forgo common courtesy. And it is not ok to keep people hanging with $200 of goods purchased for you.
I hope you are a teenager and not an adult behaving this way.
Fortunately these polys are valuable and very easy to get rid of. :-)

    I agree with that ^.

You shouldn't ask three or four people to get hold of a load of items, with the intention of only dealing with one of them. Not replying for a few days is understandable if there is a problem, but asking lots of people to get something and not being able to deal with all of them if they all come through is wrong.

Being bullied on an open forum by people who do not know anything about either my life or private PM's is not how I choose to spend my time.

I set out to make something good happen here for the Brickset community and due to changes in my life Lego hasn't been a top priority. I'm not ashamed of this, Lego is a childrens toy and therefore doesn't come before my "real life" and responsibilities.

Let me take some time to address the community before I consider leaving Brickset on a permanent basis.

@CCC - you know nothing about this situation, therefore your two cents really aren't worthy of the time you took to write them.

I asked in general if anyone could gain a large quantity of this item so I could bulk buy and pass the savings on the UK Lego fans, thus dealing with a few people then choosing one was my only option. I'm afraid this was going to happen whatever I did, unless I was going to buy 350 of these and hang onto them forever.

@margot - you sent me abusive PM's that I ignored. Your original PM's about sourcing this product consisted of one line which read "I can get you 30" then the following day "I can get you 40". Then you send me abusive messages stating you have bought 40 and they're suddenly my responsibility.
Over here, in the UK, GET is a different word to GOT. If you can GET something, it means it is obtainable but you don't currently have it, whereas GOT suggests you have it. I never told you to buy them, I thanked you for letting me know you had them but that I had sourced them elsewhere. I didn't ask you to buy them, in fact I only ever asked @ColororadoBricks to buy anything.

@norm103 You only ever sent me one PM's which read "How many robain polys u looking for"

And @ColoradoBricks informed me, ten days ago, they would be on business for ten days, so couldn't ship anything anyway.

I think I'm done here. I shall not, and will not, be bullied and accused when all I set out to do was help.

Ok, first of all, no one is bullying you so calm down. Second, it's the above statement that I have been trying to point out to you is wrong. You should have chosen one person to deal with. You didn't want to have 350 of these but it was ok to have 10 people buying 35 polys for you and then only choosing to deal with one?

The offer to source these for people was a really nice one, but if you make an offer like that then you need to be responsible and follow through and do your best to make it happen. If things happened in your life making this an overwhelming task right now, then a short pm to everyone would have sufficed.

I take issue with your claim that I sent you abusive pm's. Please post them here because I have NO idea what you are talking about. The only critical things I posted are in this thread, and they are all out in the open for everyone to see.

I would be interesting in buying one of these sets, if anyone still has any left... missed this originally. I live in Manchester, UK
  • tom4086tom4086 Member Posts: 689
I did choose one person to deal with. At no other time did I tell anyone else to buy anything. I can't make it any clearer.

A short PM to everyone? Because sending a PM to over 50 people is oh so quick to do.

Please can someone close this thread? I thought it was against the rules to discuss in a Marketplace thread anyway...
