[US] Meijer Discounts

binaryeyebinaryeye Member Posts: 1,831
Meijer currently has several sets discounted. Nothing fantastic, but a few are better than Amazon's current price. It may be store-to-store, so YMMV.

#7962 Anakin & Sebulba's Podracers: $90 (25% off)
#79110 Silver Mine Shootout: $50 (~28% off)
#79111 Constitution Train Chase: $70 (30% off)
#70001 Crawley's Claw Ripper: $12 (20% off)
#70008 Gorzan's Gorilla Striker: $40 (20% off)

Also this week Meijer mperks has 5 coupons for Legos, so make sure to clip them before you go.

Thanks for the heads up. Has anyone tried combining the mperks coupon for $6 off a $30 Lone Ranger LEGO purchase with the sale prices? That would bring the Consitiution Train Chase down to $64 if it stacks.

Thanks for the heads up on this, hopefully some people can find a good deal by their stores
Ill use my spoon bending abilities and predict the 2 Meijer stores by me will either :
    a) not have them (cleared out already)
    b) not have them on sale
and both options keep me from wasting gas to get to either store
  • TheLoneTensorTheLoneTensor Member Posts: 3,937
Yeah, I've given up on dolphin diving toward any in-store promotion - Meijer/Walmart/Target/Kmart/etc. If I'm driving by one, I might stop in, but that's about it. Funny enough, I will be driving right by a Meijer around lunch today, so @madforLEGO, I'll let you know when they don't have them :)
  • TheLoneTensorTheLoneTensor Member Posts: 3,937
And the report. Mine had all the sets. If you sign up for mperks you apparently get another $5 perk. So, using that and the $6 TLR coupon got me the one set I've been wanting to get, the Silver Mine, for $41.33 out the door. Thanks @binaryeye

I don't know if it's chain-wide, but my local Meijer currently has BOGO 50% off on Star Wars sets.

And now Meijer has BOGO 50% off on City. I noticed they also have the #30224 lawnmower poly for $3.00.
  • oansunoansun Member Posts: 87
One of the two in my town had the Dragon Mountain set clearanced for 25%. Thinking I might use one of the mperks. But Meijer clearance is highly YMMV, as evidenced by only one store in the same town with it.
  • murroughmurrough Member Posts: 59
Santa bucks are going on right now as well so don't forget to use them.
  • binaryeyebinaryeye Member Posts: 1,831
The latest Meijer weekly ad has #70803 Cloud Cuckoo Palace for $14.99.

Also if you use your mperks there is a $5 reward for buying $35 in toys which resets every day or so. ;)

Is that a coupon, Catalina, or what? I don't see any offer to add under my mPerks...

  • ThirdBuckEyeThirdBuckEye Member Posts: 44
It is a reward you can choose. Similar to spending $50 on produce receive $8 off
  • goshe7goshe7 Member Posts: 515
They must have profiled me... No toys rewards on my mperks.

Not sure if this should be a new topic . . . Anyway, I noticed that Meijer jacked up the price $5 on some Lego Movie sets.

Noticed a BOGO at my local Meijer tonight (central Ohio). Buy one get one 40% off on the following themes: TLM, Chima, Superheroes, Hobbit, and City.

Also all "bin" toys are BOGO 50% off. Which includes CMF. My meijer is still well stocked on series 12 and will occasionally have polys there as well.

    Happy Hunting!

They are also running a deal where you get a $15 coupon off your next purchase when you buy $100 in restaurant gift cards.

Many restaurant gift cards are available at Sam's Club and Costco (and many other places) at a cost of ~$40 for a $50 gift card, which equates to $20 off $100.
  • weevinweevin Member Posts: 34
Meijer has BOGO 40% as was posted above, and today and tomorrow only they also have Santa Bucks, which let you save up to 20% off of the original price, depending on price.

Example: Benny spaceship $104 + bogo40 + santabucks = ~$63 each if you buy two

To expand on my post from earlier, since I'm on a computer now instead of my phone-

This deal is for Meijer, B&M / in-store only since Meijer doesn't sell LEGO through their website any more.

@CircleK‌ posted about the BOGO40 sale. The following themes are Buy One, Get One 40% off- The LEGO Movie, Chima, DC and Marvel SuperHeroes, Hobbit, and City - so if you buy two, you get them each 20% off.

Meijer has Santa Bucks going on right now, today and tomorrow (Weds 12/10 and Thurs 12/11). There are five different coupons, all of which can be used multiple times per transaction, but only a single time per item, and they base the savings off of the list price, not the BOGO price.

    $3 off $14.99
    $5 off $24.99
    $10 off $49.99
    $15 off $74.99
    $20 off $99.99

I noticed that Meijer has started to price some of their LEGO sets at slightly over MSRP, but the majority of them were at MSRP or within $5. If you pick out two sets at similar price points, especially if they are close to the coupon breakpoints, this deal should net savings approaching 40% off.

a few example deals (prices below exclude sales tax and assume buying 2x)
#70816 Benny's Spaceship Spaceship Spaceship- $63.19 down from $100 MSRP
    #60051 Passenger Train - $99.99 down from $150 MSRP
#79018 The Lonely Mountain - $83.99 down from $130 MSRP

This morning I was able to get:

#75054 AT-AT for $67.49 with 25% off stacking on $15 Santa Bucks (before 6% tax)

    and

    X2 #70816 Benny's Spaceship for $131.38 with BOGO40 stacking $20 Santa Bucks AND $15 Santa Bucks.

Two things: Meijer has Benny's Spaceship marked up to $103.99 which is unfortunate but was more than offset by it allowing me to use the $15 Santa Bucks TWICE.

Note: I split these into two transactions (AT-AT in one, Spaceships in another) but being able to use the same Santa Bucks coupon twice could be a fluke or it could be worth trying for! YMMV!

Also, the only Lego trains I've ever seen at Meijer around here is the train station, but never a train itself. Boy would that be sweet!

Also worth mentioning for any resellers that are grinding your teeth that there are no Meijer stores near you that they use security wires at all my local stores that are put on waaaaaay too tight and pretty much destroy the boxes.

So don't feel too badly, these aren't the best resale fodder...

My local Meijer has started this recently, and their threshold for it seems to be $49.99. I did a double-take when I saw #60035 with a security device on it. I'm used to seeing them only on $100+ sets at TRU.

Where do you get the Santa bucks?
  • CircleKCircleK Member Posts: 1,055
^ I have this question as well. It seems like I have seen them in the front of the store before (like in the ad area), but I couldn't find them last time.
  • malachirobertsonmalachirobertson Member Posts: 268
You clip them on-line as a mPerks member. Sign-up is free, but you have to give them a cell phone number. They send out text messages to you with the biggest mPerks deals. You can clip different kinds of coupons on-line. There is also some rewards that you can earn. For example, spend so much on produce in xx amount of time and get a $$ reward. On Fridays and Saturdays they sometimes give a percentage off groceries and also merchandise. This week it will be 10% of general merchandise. I always check the toys coupons, because when they were doing clearance they had some coupons for a couple of small sets. You got the clearance price plus the amount off the coupon.

They also have an app you can download. Not sure if the rewards are the same for everyone but I was able to accumulate 2 toy rewards this week 10 off 85 and 8 off 75. Might go pick up another lonely mountain tonight.
  • CircleKCircleK Member Posts: 1,055
Ohhh OK - Didn't realize they were on mperks now. I still remember when they were actual "santa bucks" i.e. little coupons that looked like dollar bills with santa on them that came in the flyer.

    How 2004 of me...
  • sidersddsidersdd Member Posts: 2,432
^ they come that way too. You'll find a stack of em on a shelf at the store.
  • BazookaJoeX9BazookaJoeX9 Member Posts: 98
I heard they have Mixels on sale for $2 each in the stocking stuffers section. Wish there was one close to me.
  • ShpadoinkleShpadoinkle Member Posts: 420
Yesterday I actually took back a Lonely Mountain I had bought for my wife for Christmas and grabbed another off the shelf. Saved me an additional $20 or so off the BOGO40 price just for taking ten minutes to get another.

Also had to head to a different Meijer last night to get an Imaginext toy for my nephew and was able to get the new train station for $42. It's very rare around where I live to see any train stuff at Meijer so seeing that at all was surprising enough, seeing it 20% off with the other City stuff was even better, and stacking Santa bucks on top was the best!

I swear that's the last thing I'm buying until the Slave I...I swear!

Yes, but Meijer shoppers may want to wait until tomorrow on those. 10% off general merchandise on Friday and Saturday this week.

^The Santa Bucks almost always works out to saving more than 10% and they end today.

But the Santa Bucks don't work on small dollar items like Mixels.

Anyone want to be awesome and purchase/ship me the 3 gray and 3 purple Mixels? (I'll pay you of course!)
  • CircleKCircleK Member Posts: 1,055

That was good enough for me to pull the trigger on the Lonely Mountain as well.

The one that is really nagging me is Benny's Spaceship. I already have one but thought of picking up another for Classic space parts pack. It's 25% off and will qualify for another $15 in Santa Bucks bc of the marked up price of $103.99. Works out to 63 bucks before tax which is a steal for that set.

Thirded on the lonely mountain... Great deal!
  • ThirdBuckEyeThirdBuckEye Member Posts: 44
Just went and picked up 2 more lonely mountains. Maybe I will take them to the Lego store after x mas and exchange them and cash for DO and PR. Yeah I know it's scandalous so feel free to judge. ;)

Meijer has an Mperks coupon good today and tomorrow only (Sun and Mon) for discounts on toys, in-store only. It appears to work more than once, as I used it earlier yet it is still shown as a potential coupon in my Mperks account. I'm not certain if you need to do separate transactions for each toy or not.

    $3 off $14.99
    $5 off $24.99
    $10 off $49.99
    $15 off $74.99

The one I was at had #70146 Flying Phoenix Fire Temple (Chima) marked down to $75, in a separate promotion, so combining the two, I got it for $60, a 50% discount from the $120 MSRP.

There were a few other sets marked down 25%, most likely the same ones that have been like that for a while. I recall a few of the larger TMNT sets, and the largest Agent base #70165 were among those marked down. That would be $60 + tax with this deal.

Meijer has been great with these all coupon and deals.

Today I picked up Lonely mountain for $82.49, Jek 14's for $49.19, AT-AP for $39.99 and Turtle sub undersea chase for $39.99 (all before tax).

I'm going to check out Flying Phoenix Fire Temple on my way home. I thought it was 25% off from $119.99 so never bothered to scan.

I really wanted to get Agents HQ but I could not find it anywhere near me.

Agreed. The Santabucks / Mperks coupled with 25% off sales have been nice. I went ahead and picked up a #79017 Battle of Five Armies Minifigures today for 33% off. There may be better sales on that one later on (if past Hobbit clearance is any indication), but I usually pull the trigger on any set I want around the 30% off mark. 40 to 50% causes me to pull the trigger on sets I don't want

Another good thing about Meijer is that their price is same throughout stores regardless sticker price on the shelves. So if you get any sale info here and there, it's same price at your local store. That's how I got Flying phoenix yesterday on my way home for $60 after $15 mperks coupon. Thanks @weevin.

So funny discount story at Meijer a couple days ago...... I recently started collecting Lego Mixels series 3, and went in the store to see if there were any more. I already had a complete set of 9 but thought I'd get an extra set. To my surprise, Meijer not only had them in stock but they were also on clearance for 50% off! So I grabbed a set of 9, and went to the checkout...... Only to have them scan at 70% off! Wow! Apparently Meijer has them in their system as 'stocking stuffers' so therefore they are part of Christmas clearance markdowns. And this is the case at all 3 of my local stores, so I assume it's the case at all Meijer stores. Needless to say, I went back and grabbed 2 more sets (and they even let me keep the display box lol).

So in a nutshell, I purchased 3 more complete series 3 sets (27 figures), normally $142.81 (full price with MI sales tax), and I paid $42.64 (70% off with MI sales tax). A savings of $100!! Over 1,700 Lego pieces!

If anybody collects or needs any Mixels, nows the time to head to Meijer! :)

I went to one of my local Meijer last night and they had nearly every set marked clearance. I picked up a White house, U.N. building, and Leaning Tower set. They also had all of their Lego movie sets on sale, TMNT, Chima, and alot of other sets. It looks like they were trying to clear out room for the new stock. I went to the 3 other Meijer in my area hoping they were doing the same thing since they had a larger stock of them left over but no luck.

I live in Midland and it was at this one. I went to the Bay City and Saginaw ones also but they did not have any mass clearances.
