Not so far in the foothills around Seattle. :( The NW seems to be a backwater for toy distro in general regardless of brand...
Good to know others share the same opinion and it's just not me being overly critical.

Seriously, there are certain things in other lines I collect that the Big Boxes are saying "yeah we stock it but no we won't ship it to your area, hahaf-you" that are getting really freaking annoying.

Granted, the fact that we have a strong, long-established and multigenerational scalper-parasite culture that refined the art of beating everyone else to everything good and flipping it on the secondary market to an exacting science back in Beanie Baby Craze days doesn't help either...

They have every legal right to be complete douchebags, and I have every right to call them on it.

Grab a couple to hold for the future sure, but when you suck up the entire inventory and list each piee on eBay for 10 times the price... here's one I actually SAW when my mother was in the Beanie Cult. Scalperdouche was laying a line on her re one critter that had caught her eye about "super rare variation, last one," and as soon as he had her money and her back was turned he pulled an identical beanie up from under his table and started trying to lay it on me too... didn't like it much when I told him loud enough for three tables away to hear "I just WATCHED you run that scam on my mother, don't try it on me."

There were quite a few folks who turned away from his table at that point...

Lego will be around for at least another 50 or 100 years.  At some point during that time, the used Lego market WILL crash just like Beanie Babies did.  (It's inevitable to happen at some point.  Trends come and go.)  ...and I can't freakin' wait!

I'm in this hobby because I enjoy collecting and building with Lego bricks and so do my wife and son.  We're not in it to resell.  If I'm caught with a sh*t-load of "worthless" Lego, I won't care...and I'll be happy that reselling hoarders who hopped on the bandwagon when they saw all those news reports about how it's "a better investment than gold" will finally go away.  They have no love for Lego and it's all about the money to them.

If I was in this for the money, I never would have opened that MiSB #10197 and #10211 a year or so ago.  I had been storing those since I bought them 10 years earlier and knew what they were worth...but I cared more about my own personal building experience.  I still have a bunch of old 1980s Classic Space landing plates that are still shrinkwrapped that I found in the mid-1990s on clearance at Toys R' Us.  Never put them up for auction because I knew I'd need them when I finally had space to build things.  ...and now I do and I'll be opening those up in the next few months as I FINALLY assemble our spaceport!

...but this is off topic, so I digress.

Hey, polys in the wild everyone!  Gotta go find some!  :)

I'm sure that he pivoted to something else and upped his jack-up to compensate... the way these guys work, they all network--each of 'em specializes in something, they all buy the limit of anything that seems new or rare and trade 'em amongst themselves and post-COVID probably have switched from not-so-much-a-thing physical shows to cornering the market and trickling 'em out on eBay.

But yeah, have we heard anything about when and where #30435 is gonna drop? And do any of you Potter diehards have any idea bout fitting the three different build options together into a better representation of the complex?

That one, my aunt's gonna need one to build each way...

I bought several of the mini Hogwarts from Scheel’s last week.

I got mine in Scheel's also a couple of weeks ago.  I picked up 5 and when I got home realized I should have gotten 8 to be able to recreate all the pictured versions.  I've gone back a few times since but there haven't been any more available the times I've checked.   I expect they will be an in store GWP the same time the Staircase GWP is offered at Lego Stores.  Hopefully eventually they will show up in Target and/or Walmart, maybe around the holidays.

Interesting discovery: there's a socket in one side of #76948 that #30390 drops neatly into, fits like a glove. Almost like LEGO MEANT for it to slot in there... once I get the other JWD "Malta" set I'll have to set the three up and get a picture before I knock 'em down to put in storage.

There were quite a few folks who turned away from his table at that point...

So.. your really mad that your mom paid, what she apparently was willing to, for something.. I mean, did I miss the part when the seller held a gun to your mom's head and demanded a certain amount? I mean if that guy did, I'm no legal expert, but that is a crime.  If he supposedly lied to your mother to sell an item, then that's likely fraud, did you call the cops or report the seller to the show runner? I have also seen PLENTY of people haggle prices down. Did you mom try that or again was she willing to pay what she did?
Also, I must have missed where people managed to suck up millions  (typically an 'entire inventory') of a LEGO set to sell for 10 times the price? When did this happen exactly?
See, the thing about vitriol is its often not thought through and irrationally directed.
Now, there was a guy in Europe that did try to buy as many of a limited Technic 4x4 set back in the day and basically took a bath on them as they did not really go up in price, if that can help you sleep at night. I get ire at scalpers, but really its all about supply and demand and its a toy, or a collectible. Now it it were basic food, medicine, water, or even toilet paper? Sure there is a special place in hell for those people. But a toy? a video game console? These are not 'needs' they are 'wants'. Now, yeah its deplorable that some prey on those who have poor impulse control or they scalp a 'need', and they usually get their just deserts soon enough (like the @$$holes who were trying to buy up toilet paper in a region to charge over retail on Amazon for it and wound up getting in trouble with the cops and likely getting their Amazon marketplace yanked, if not their business license as well), but toys are not 'needs' they are 'wants'.
Your mother 'wanted' that 'critter', and she got it. Now you may feel it was not worth that price (or the guy was pulling a fast one as you say), but then you did not buy it, correct? See how that works? We have choices in this world....

Funny thing is ten minutes later we saw the exact same thing on a store shelf at list price... what I'm cheesed at still almost a quarter century later is the outright LIE. "Last one in the entire show and you won't find it in stores!" Choice relies on good information, and I've seen used car salesmen that were both lower-pressure and more honest than that particular hump--I suppose your first day in any new hobby you have to get burned once so you know how to avoid doing so again.

Yeah, I'd be interested in seeing a photo of this.  I looked at official images of the sets and it's not immediately obvious how they would fit together.

In the absence of a photo... when you orient the "market" part of the set so that the red-walled section is to your right, there's an empty space between those walls just big enough to wrap around the smaller set. (As an aside, that entire side of the set also looks like it was designed to be "collapsible" with how weakly the three walls and two outer pillars are held on.)

Target didn't have the Atroci Bike Chase set today, so I'll check again Wednesday on my way out from another defoliation session. As noted previously, will followup with pic once the complete "Malta group" is in hand and assembled.

On my hunt for #30590, I found that the the LDC by me still had LEGO movie 2 Poly Rex's Plantimal ambush #30460 (ouch) and the #30589 purple go kart. Walmarts by me have the latest Friends flower pack (#30417) and nothing else. Target still had the #30343 Mclaren Elva but that was it. May have to try to go to a Meijer and see what they have.

Not yet in Target or Walmart.  If you have a Scheels sporting goods store anywhere near you I got mine there a while back.  They still had them last time I was there a couple of weeks ago.

Sadly the only place I heard them be around me, and saw them, was the LDC in Schaumburg IL. Hopefully they should up in a store, but I have noticed that many of the stores around me (Walmart, Meijer, Target, etc) have been notably threadbare when it comes to polybags lately.

Do you have a local Bricks & Minifigs store? I have seen some polys there somehow that I have not seen elsewhere. They are higher prices though.

My new Bricks & Minifigs seems to have current polybags at normal retail prices. Not sure if it's company wide, but I feel like once they got the official "blessing" by LEGO, they were able to carry more current sets and offer them for the normal retail price. I honestly don't pay attention that often to their new sets as I'm almost always after the bulk table or used sets.

I now have a Scheels 5 minutes from my temporary new place (15 minutes once the house is finished being built). Might be dangerous...

Thanks everyone for the input! Bricks and Minifigs is about an hour away so my best plan is to keep hitting Walmart and Target to see what shows. My Target didn't have any polys in the toy aisle or around the registers. Maybe they are due for a big re-supply.

I did see a new batch of 32x32 baseplates at Walmart in paper sleeved bags.

The train is presumably the Holiday Polybag this year.  I've only found it in Scheels so far but expect it will show up in Target and maybe Walmart before the holidays.  I got mine a couple of months ago along with the Scarecrow & Hogwarts ones & the Classic 90th one.  I'm still resisting the Birthday Bear because I think he looks a bit creepy like the clown did.  My Walmarts finally just started getting the Jurassic World poly.  My Walmarts mostly still have tons of the Friends Sunflower one and one store is still loaded with the Shang Chi one.  I ended up ordering the Elsa one & Spidey Tower Bridge from Target.com.  I'm still waiting for the Friends Market Stall one to maybe show up in Target eventually.  Only ever saw it once in Joanns & when I went back for it they were sold out.  I used VIP points on the Parrot when it became available that way but I'd like to pick up another if I can find it somewhere. And I still need two more of the Hogwarts one.

Shoot me a message with what you're looking for. My personal funds to spend may be somewhat limited, so not sure if I'll be able to accommodate a ton of trades as opposed to just buying/shipping, but we'll see what we can manage!
