@KingAlanI What do you do with duplicate mini dolls/digs? Trade for different ones at the store maybe?
I use extra minidolls for crowd scenes. I MOC an audience for #41105 Pop Star Show Stage. I want some customers for #41311 Heartlake Pizzeria. I mix and match minidoll components for variety

Fred Meyer has #30425 CRU Master's Training Ground (sale price $2.99) and #30476 Sea Turtle (sale price $2.49). Both in the Easter section.

The yellow border is interesting.  Haven't noticed that on the Creator polys before.

Here is what I saw at a local Meijer's, a veritable polybag smorgasbord:

    #30347  #30398  #30476  #30376  #30354  #30338  #30425  #30477  #30352

All in pretty decent amounts, except for the police car

this is an interesting "polybag". the parts are bagged separately and it also contains a few cards.

May I ask where people are finding the above polybag?  #40175
  • nychromastonenychromastone Member Posts: 163

^sorry. it was a GWP at the Lego store but i don't recall it being announced on the event calendar. i purchased #76077 IM Detroit Steel Strikes and it's possible that a $30 purchase wasn't required.

    OH NO WHEN!?  Boooooooo  :(
  • gmonkey76gmonkey76 Member Posts: 1,833
I thought #40175 was going to be given out starting the 27th when you found the six crook stickers at a lego store.
  • jmeninnojmeninno Member Posts: 1,216
I don't recall seeing that on the calendar...I'll have to look.  Appreciate the feedback - it is a neat little poly!

#40175 looks really cool, it's a shame we don't really have highways in our towns.

Saw #30496 at a Walmart here today.  They're ringing up for $3.99.

^ Have to check out B&N quick. I'm so tired of the only polys I can find being the Kylo Ren shuttle and the Hot Rod at Target.
Oh, and the dumb police car and Friends pommel horse in the Easter section.

Sounds like LDCs are getting the batpod, but the one in Schaumburg IL apparently had them, but they said they had a LEGO Batman bag, but apparently some lowlife dbag went and bought them all. If the store continues to allow this, then I'm not seeing any reason to go shop there.
LDC did have the #30477 Creator Chameleon, but for 5 USD. They also had a little 2x2 brick case for the Batman movie, and those Krypto bags still. I think they may have had the Ninjago training poly too (forget what the number is on those)

That is so irritating. I live near Madison WI, my family and I would have driven down to go to the LCD then we would have swung by the shop to snag one (plus I'm sure a bunch of other stuff). In a small shop like that it is not hard to limit sales.

That's like the third time in the last year you've reported that they have allowed this. Guess they don't get that they would get more customers if they limited sales.

Nice, was hoping they'd pop up in stores after the S@H promo since I didn't feel like buying enough sets to qualify for the free one.
  • nychromastonenychromastone Member Posts: 163

Does the store have any control over the number of these sets they get from LEGO? If your shelf-clearing nemesis is buying all of the available stock, can the store order more, either in their initial order or as a restock?

From what I understand the LDC get s box of something and that is it in regards to polys. So it sounds like someone comes in first thing on Tuesday (when they apparently get their stocks) and then promptly buys it all. What is annoying is a manager should step in and say 'sorry, we need to ensure everyone has a chance to get one. If they are still here in 30 days then you can buy the remaining stock' At least that is what I would do.

Have you tried asking the manager to pull one for you before they hit the shelf? Turning away a customer with money in hand because somebody else MIGHT want to buy the same item later means the store might get stuck with unsold inventory.
  • JooTogJooTog Member Posts: 945
#30521 The Mini Batmobile at the Aliso Viejo B&N store.
There were only a handful of them; I grabbed a couple and left 4 or 5.
  • josekaleljosekalel Member Posts: 683
Even though it's not 'fair' to have someone buy all the stock, I think it's good for a store since it clears up stock and space, and of course, makes them money...but yeah, it sucks.

If only Target would FINALLY decide to put those Kylo Ren Shuttles (which are actually really cool) on clearance, that would be great...

Yeah, A lot of 'miss' on that idea. Most sales people either give it to someone else, or have such a narrow window to come get it when it is in stock it borders on laughable.

Lets face it, if someone wants to buy 30 of a poly the day it is out, likely they are a reseller. Especially when it is the SAME guy coming in every time to do this.On the way off chance they are doing it because they have a class of kids and they are a teacher or something like that they will have no issues waiting for 30 days (or probably should not).
Bottom line is if someone wants to buy 30 of something the day it comes out, it will likely sell fine without their 'help'. Especially so if that store gets them in and they are the only store in that state, let alone area, that will be getting them.

^ That's the thing that is hard to get across to managers, if that guy is wanting to buy all the stock on day one, then clearly there's a reason & that probably means they will likely sell all the stock without his assistance. Recently we've had a few SW polybags given away with a kids magazine called K-Zone, whenever this has happened some 'enterprising' individual has gone from store to store trying to buy all the copies they have. A few of the stores closer to home have started a two per person purchase limit thanks to a lot of irate parents complaining their children didn't get their monthly treat.

Personally, when I come across stuff like this, I buy a few & leave it a couple of weeks before swinging back around for more, if they're still there by that point, they're fair game.

What if the manager is the guy buying 30 at a time...
  • VorpalRyuVorpalRyu Member Posts: 2,318
^ That is hard to prove, but if it can be proven, complaining to head office can work on occasion. A similar thing was happening at a couple of local EB Games stores with the pre-order bonuses a few years back. The worst was the incident with the polybags for the Lego Lord of the Rings game, managers for three of their stores pocketed them & one foolishly put them up on Gumtree. According to one of the staff, the state manager got a family member to call up about them & when the manager met up to offload his loot, the state manager revealed himself & demanded answers. Safe to say, that manager ended up unemployed for his troubles.
