YW, glad you got a couple. Remember to ALWAYS ask at the CS desk, because many TRUs love to hold these under the CS desk (literally having them in the their shipping box under the desk).

Lol well I got a couple ordered that day. Later that day I got the ready for pickup email. About 3-4 days later I get to work at 8am and get an email saying "Your order has been picked up". Checked my account and I was charged but I never picked it up lol. I go into the store and they cannot find it and have no idea what happened. The manager wasnt there so now I have to go back to the store another day to get a refund, yay. Guess itll be ebay for this one, ugh.

I was at a Target today and saw them setting up for Halloween. They hadn't finished putting out all the stock but there were price tags at all the empty spaces on the shelves. I could not find a placeholder for a Lego polybag. I'll check a few more targets tomorrow and report back here

We rarely ever get any polys here.  Not sure if this is new or not but I did find city 30315 today at target.  It's a space guy and car and satellite dish.

The problem with Target seasonal polybags is the person in charge of the plan-o-gram.

Sometimes, they just don't put out everything, depending on stock at the time or space for the actual shelf layout.

Even though I checked five or six locations over Easter season for the #30313 Garbage Truck polybag, I only found it in one location in the correct seasonal area.
I'm pretty much expecting the same thing this time around (though this time, I have family checking their respective locations for me, saving me a drive!)

I also checked one of the local Target store that they are setting up the Shelves for the Halloween.  also didn't see any shelves for any Lego Polybags,  so i guess this year may have none!

I have heard that some Targets are saving their Series 14 for Halloween. Maybe there won't be a poly this year.

I checked our local Target a couple hours ago and it's the same for me. Nothing...

I checked a SuperTarget today. It had 5 aisles full of costumes and candy. There was no space left for a Polybag. It's not looking good.

Aren't there any endcaps or even basket racks along the wall of the setup? Those 2 spots are where I can find that sort of stuff w/o problems.

    @russel

I hope they havent. I've been looking forward to Halloween for MONTHS just b/c of the Halloween area polybags!!! I'm going to be hitting target todya to pick up Lego awesome ideas and the Halloween/seasonal/whatever the official term for that area of the store is called is spitting distance away so I can check today.

  • TkattTkatt Member Posts: 472
The thing that has me concerned is that at each store I've been to there is that endcap spot for little toys. There are placeholders/pricetags for playdoh' and hot-wheels items, but not Lego.

Each one has had the Moon-buggy, Chima, and go-cart polybag in the checkout lanes. I'd say they're overstocked on them actually.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
I actually do not mind the LEGO moon buggy as it seems to have some nice parts in it.

my store had the Series 14 hanging display box in the Halloween aisle but also had the Series 14 box on the shelf in the Lego aisle.

Good to know, so it does sound like Targets are putting these on racks in the Halloween aisle as well though Im guessing YMMV.

At my Target they hadn't put out any Halloween toys, just candy. Some of the up-front seasonal area still has back-to-school/dorm stuff so the layout isn't complete. And no CMF at all anywhere. And my local Lego store ran out before I got there last weekend. Dang!

I did notice the checkout aisles are fully stocked with #30275 TIE Advanced Prototype which I know has been at TRU already. I liked it more after I built it.

Checked my local Target last night.

Slowly shrinking the Back to School section and already had the Halloween stuff in.

But what wasn't seen was the aisle of stocking stuffers: the $1-$4 toys, activities, gadgets, etc. that would be used for baskets, raffle packages, etc.

That's where the Lego polys usually are.

And with lots of moon buggies and race cars still in the checkout lanes, it's not looking good.

I noticed  last year that the little knicknack toy section seemed small for Halloween. To be fair that makes sense as it is not really a gift holiday, and my kids certainly don't trick or treat at houses that give these toys out (though the rumor at school is that there is a house that gives out minifigures).
  • wagnerml2wagnerml2 Member Posts: 1,376
Last year the polys at our targets were on endcaps in the Halloween aisle.  There are places currently at ours for that to happen again.

I asked at the Lego store and they didn't know of a Halloween poly this year. My targets all have the same 4 things, and I was lucky enough to find a couple Star Wars poly bags hidden in the back of a row at one. So now I'm just waiting. How often do they seem to switch them out for new ones?

This year I believe that Targets have not really had any season specific polys. They just get certain polys to put out for their seasonal sells. Regarding when Targets get new polys near the checkouts, I'm not sure, I'm guessing they get a 'new' one every quarter of the year to put out? There are rumors about Joker's Bumper car being at Targets this year, and I would think that Halloween would be a good time to have them, but not sure if they will.

As for LEGO making any Halloween poly, I think that the #40122 Boxed set is LEGO's 'Halloween' set this season and only at LEGO stores (and I think Discovery centers may have them as well, not sure).

Toys R Us has it slated for a sale the week of 12/13/15.

I found a toys r us outlet!!!! I was so excited to go check out the legos. Some retired sets and I found a couple of old polys! It's not listed on the website, but OKC has a new TRU outlet on the west side of town.

That's not a Toys R Us Express that you are talking about, is it?

  • Prin12sPrin12s Member Posts: 47
Hmmmm, maybe. I don't know for sure. It's in our outlet mall and its new.
Mi was just excited to find something I didn't already have.
  • MilcheaxMilcheax Member Posts: 52
There's a new Toys R Us Express in the new Gloucester Township Outlets near me in Blackwood, NJ.

Same overpricing, but yes, some older sets.

It's not an outlet though, in the traditional sense of "outlets have cheaper stuff".  It's just a place they could stuff a smaller version of the big store to get additional foot traffic.  (And that's with a full-sized store like 8 miles away in Deptford.)

They (Express stores) pop up from time to time during the holiday season.  It's a lot cheaper to have the transient smaller store than to drop the resources for a full sized building.

Yeah the TRU expresses are a bit laughable IMO, never mind the typical TRU 'RRP' which is about 10-20% over normal retail for many LEGO sets, but then take on another 5-10% for mall fees... I see these places and typically pass. The only thing I may go into one of these for is if they would happen to carry polybags, but the last time I went into one when TRUs had a poly available in their normal stores, nothing was in the Express store.

Since I'm fairly new to this how do I know if I found a target with old sets I don't have or new sets?
not that it matters to me since anything I don't have makes us happy, but I don't want to share my find if its old hat!
that being said I found city poly 30226, China poly 30265, and Galaxy squad poly 30230! Yay!
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
I would say if you find certain polys at a store and it does not appear like the last few posts have mentioned it, go ahead and post them as while some may be 'old' polys they may have some people still looking to buy them at a store.

  • Prin12sPrin12s Member Posts: 47
Alrighty, I found them at a Target in Moore Oklahoma. I'm hooked.  Everytime we go anywhere new I have to find the closest target and TRU.
  • MrJ_NYMrJ_NY Member Posts: 592
#30315 finally showed up at Target near me.Stores here never carry polybags other than a few seasonal ones so it was a bit surprising to find these. They were hung near the registers on top of the year+ old Chima poly's

Maybe, I'm sure there are those waiting to see them at Target, like hoping Target eventually starts to carry the #30303, at least that was a rumor earlier this year

For the Midwesterners, the local Meijer had a whole endcap side full of Advanced Tie Fighters. They also put their 50000 (estimated count) Friends Wish Fountains on clearance at 25% off. Mixels are still occupying the checkout lanes.

Would someone be able to pick me up 3 of the wish fountains? It was never available over here.

Man!! I wish I had a Meijer here!!  I don't have the fountain!
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
Pretty sure they had wish fountains at 'five below' stores, if you have them in your area.
  • dannyrwwdannyrww Member Posts: 1,394
Dang it....we just got our first Meijer and they don't have any polybags. There is one over an hour away that had the wish fountains.

I saw #30303 at Target in Central Virginia, north of Richmond, today.  They had at least 2 dozen on an end cap.

^found it in NC today as well.  Was in the toy section on an end cap, not at a checkout line.

I'll be trolling the toy section now...Haha. Can't wait to find it! I also found another Chima #30265 at a target that I know didn't have it a week ago, so I'm thinking it might be new!
  • Sethro3Sethro3 Member Posts: 1,015
^Fire bike is old. I picked one up last year sometime. Plus, with Chima on its way out, I don't see them putting out new Chima polys for it.

Joker Polybags were available at Target in Upstate NY, along with the Moon Rover for the City sets.  Plenty of the same Chima polybags that have been on the racks for months and months.

Haven't seen any new SW polybags.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,836
Joker bumper cars are available at Target in Chicagoland area, not by the checkout aisles though, but at one of those smaller end caps in the toy section (and not necessarily near the LEGO aisle)

So many Joker bumper cars here in Tampa too. Each Target has 50+. If anything, I'll pick more up to make bumper cars for the entire DC gang. Just need slopes in different colors to customize them.

At least in the US, the Hulk polys are not yet available via TRUs. Try to look for them late Nov/early Dec I think it is. As early Nov the C3PO will be available at TRU.
