New LEGO Store opening in New York City Jan 2014

Not sure if this is news or not, but my wife was checking some real estate around her old office and found out that LEGO will be opening a new flagship NYC store at 200 Fifth Avenue (next to Eataly on the corner of 23rd, near the Flatiron) in January 2014. A bit of googling told me this was announced last year but I don't recall seeing it here. At 7,700 sq feet it sounds like it'll be pretty huge. I expect prices will be inline with the inflated Rockefeller prices, but at least the opening could be fun.

SHAKE SHACK ACROSS THE STREET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew about this for a while but it was more rumor than confirmed fact. Should be awesome. IDK about flagship store, with Rockefeller only a mile and a half north though.... unless this space is HUGE.

LEGO mgr told me this store would indeed be a flagship. Maybe even have classes as well. Hopefully the PaB is ginormous.

Theoretically the flagship store will have the best PaB selection. Ooh baby.

Even though it won't be open while the family and I are up in NYC for Christmas, it will be there for next year. Yet another place that will become an anuall stopping point in the city. :)

The new store is reported as opening some time in July - anyone have an exact date?

^ I doubt that it will be this month as the new Staten Island store was announced much earlier on and is scheduled to open in August.

Grand Opening for SI store August 8-10. Supposedly Manhattan store opening in summer as well.

The earliest I can see this store opening will be sometime in September. All the new store openings are announced on the monthly calendar. The new Staten Island store is the only announcement for August.
