I got to have them, both, so I figure out what to buy around October.

I like those sets, especially the first one, I am glad they didn't go Chima for the Christmas sets, as you can't spell Christmas without c.h.i.m.a :)

Loving them both. My plan is pet shop in October to take advantage of double VIP and the first holiday set, then in November on BF I'll pick up the WVM. and get the second holiday set.

    Should work out nicely.

phew so 2011 had #3300020 and #3300002 were not WV related. I was worried I missed something! ;)

#3300014 was a really good set

I like the sets, but hate the whole release 2 sets and the second one released on BF weekend.. Kinda annoying, but not bad if you can get them via S@H
Hope I get the pre BF invite so I can get one without having to worry about shopping on BF.

Got it. Thanks guys. I don't usually do dupes except for space soldiers but multiple elves are needed to keep Santa in business I think.

I am especially excited about these two sets, not long ago we were all wondering whether the winter theme would catch on and resurface from one year to the next, well now that we have that answer, and in a positive ligh no less, we are posed with another. Will TLG continue to release late fall/early winter freebies with minimum purchases like this? Especially with the winter theme? I SURE HOPE SO. I got last years version; and was very pleased, every time I look at the box I smile and am glad I purchased what I did. At any rate, good job TLG, for keeping us enthralled in your wintery thralls!!!

The Post Office retiring is only a rumour, isn't it? I think @Grogall mentioned in another thread that it is expected to return. We won't know for sure until the theme reappears on S@H.

^ I think someone from Canada said the theme has reappeared on the Canadian site, with the Cottage listed as available from a certain date, but the Post Office listed as retired. We'll see what the rest of the sites say, but I'd be very surprised if it was available in one or two countries but unavailable in the others.

WV theme already returned around here and there's no Post Office, only Cottage for now.
  • JdawgJdawg Member Posts: 83
Can confirm that the Canadian Lego online store has only the cottage listed as available on the 15th I think.

It is marked as "Retired product" on S@H (http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Winter-Village-Post-Office-10222). Has TLG ever reversed "Retired product" mark before ?

On topic: as nice as these 2013 Christmas sets, didn't we already get tree vendor in #10216 ? Here comes the competition... Move away horse drawn cart, we deliver trees with truck in 21st century :)

That was my first reaction too, but this one is far better so I think I will turn the one from 10216 into a stall for something else and add it to the market. There isn't a whole lot that identifies it as a Christmas tree stall, so it could easily be converted to something else. I'm thinking a mulled wine stand :)

^ I just clicked on the #10216 link. Has anyone else noticed that the pretzel sign on the lamp post is upside down?

(This is probably old news, but I don't have time to search threads to see if it was already mentioned.) :)

You mean apart from the big sign above the stall with trees on it? ;)

Christmas trees and wine! Sounds good to me!

I do admit I'm a bit disappointed that they rehashed another xmas tree stand, which I'll probably just cobble together with the one from the bakery and make a bigger one.

I'd really like a set of A Christmas Carol vignettes myself. There are all sorts of cool possibilities there.

There are?? My memory fails me. Still, maybe they're just to signify that it's Christmas :)
