Hello from the Chicago - burbs!

Hey everyone.

I've been checking out this site for the past 2 weeks, and just got approved, and posting.

I never had much experience with Lego as a kid (I liked them, but we never had them), so I am making up for it now. So far, it's Creator and MF, and we'll see where it goes from there. LOTR and SW are tempting. SO tempting.

This all started when I dusted off my old #509 firestation, and bought a few S10 minifigures. I now have all the minifigures, and a few MF sets.

Looking forward to hanging out with all of you!

Kaz

Hey, @Kaz! I'm from Chicago, and although now live in Florida, most of my family is still there. Great place to be a LEGO fan with all those LEGO stores around! My brother lives in Northbrook and I envy his LEGO collection! Have fun around here!...(c:

Welcome from Mundelein. Now that you're back in the hobby, keep a real close eye on your wallet...otherwise it may wander off and spend everything it has!

$200 in the past few weeks. Incredible how quick I went through that. Trying to reign it in, but it's tough. haha.

Welcome. Far North (Rockford) here but I grew up in Downers Grove. My suggestion would be LotR over SW only for the fact that SW is huge. I buy a few SW sets here and there but I'm hoping to collect at least one of each set for the entire LotR/Hobbit line. Again, welcome and Brickset is an awesome site. Enjoy.

Hi KazJY, I collect the CMF too - I now have Series 1-11 complete (uh, though no Mr. Gold). Have you been to that Lego Discovery Center? I think it is in Schaumburg. My son had a good time but to be honest I was a little disappointed compared to Legoland in California.

Is it just me or is it kind of weird that spell check is flagging "Legoland"?

@DarthWalle I was lucky in that we visited the Lego Discovery Center in Schaumburg first and then Legoland California. I don't see the need to return anytime soon. It was fun but I guess I expected more. The only thing we didn't do was the Master Builder class.
