I want them to release info on Marvel sets! So many currently available are retiring and there hasn't been info on them in months! Thought we would have heard something for Thor about now.
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
Looks like that means there will be a cheaper way of getting the Penguin as opposed to buying the Arkham Asylum set.
  • rancorbaitrancorbait Member Posts: 1,842
I'm guessing for the man- attack set they are going to use the same part for the man-bat as in the MF castle?
  • dannyrwwdannyrww Member Posts: 1,394
But no Green Lantern? :( Maybe they can sneak him in with the movie sets

I am happy with Man-Bat, but would love a couple more new villains in that large Steamroller set. Killer Croc and Ra's Al Ghul are fairly notable by their absence from the theme so far.

Oh no, my own interpretation of the Penguin's Duckmobile is going to look rubbish next to an official version! I've been working on an Arctic World/Penguin lair MOC that I was hoping to display later in the year...

Other than that, sounds good, especially the steamroller, thanks for the info!
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,526
Yeah, penguin being a smaller set number is great, it should be a small and cheap set. No need for me to buy AA now.

    -Captain America the Winter Solider
    -The Amazing Spider-Man 2
    -Guardians of the Galaxy

Thor the Dark World sets this year please.

It won't be rubbish. No negatives. Get it out there :-)

I was slightly underwhelmed by the list (three out of four sets being based on villains we already have) until I read the descriptions. I would be over the moon with a new Nightwing. Though in saying that, I would probably still want the Batman I version because of the colour. I imagine the new Nightwing will have a red symbol.

I'm also pretty stoked about a Man-Bat minifig, quite an understated villain and it's encouraging that they're showing signs of doing characters that are not 'marquee'.

Come on all ready with the pictures!
  • jasorjasor Member Posts: 839
We definitely need another Joker, Riddler, and jetski Batman. sarcasm alert

Clayface, Killer Croc, Ra's Al Ghul....yes. I'll be happy with a Penguin refresh and a Flash. Nightwing ftw!

Holding my breath for more Xmen... Maybe add "DC" to the title?

There wasn't Marvel in the catalog from what I was told.

Marvel will be based on films, so they wont be allowed photos. Spoilers

^true enough, perhaps there is still a chance we will get a Thor 2 set announcement at NYCC. We all need a gold armor godess Natalie Portman minifigure Right? Right?!

As long as the bottom is a slope piece. Wouldn't want one with legs - that wouldn't make sense.

You still need Scarecrow and Dr Harleen Quinzel, but you could just get those off of BL

How about some product for the new animated series Hulk and Agents of SMASH or Avengers Assemble.

''The rumoured sets for January see LEGO narrowing their focus in the Super Heroes line, but there will be more to come throughout the year.

In January there will be four DC Batman sets, featuring different villains.

There will also be two sets featured in the new LEGO Juniors line (like that name ever needed resurrecting…), targeting the characters at a younger audience. One will be a Spider-Man car and include Venom, the other will be a simple Batcave including Batman, Robin and the Joker.

For Marvel there will be three Spider-Man sets, including additional heroes and villains, released in March. There will also be two sets based on The Avengers.

In July there will be more Marvel sets, this time based on Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men to coincide with the release of the respective movies.''

Yay for more Superheroes!!! Can't wait to see some pics. But is the recent spy shots of the Flash-Riddler-Bat set coming from 2013 or one of these 2014 sets? Can't wait for more X-men & Avengers. Interested to see the new Spidey sets and curious if it'll be a different outfit. Itching to see the list of new villains and hopefully their truly new, as in 'not-rehashed in different outfit/color/face print'.

But a resurrected Juniors line feels like wasted slots that could have been better spent on additional Superhero offerings =T

    No Thor movie related sets?

Hopefully this will be similar to the Star Wars Microfighters line and include normal minifigures.

Early 2014. And they're not really spy shots; the set was shown by LEGO.

Man, I want a Daredevil minifig. With this LEGO Marvel Superheroes game coming out you think we would see more of a variety like Fantastic Four, classic X-Men, etc. Give the kids what they want though, I guess

I'm crossing my fingers that the X-Men sets are classic though with Cyclops, Gambit, Colossus, Rogue, and Nightcrawler!

    @vwong13

    Maybe Christmas 2013

I want to know what the Spiderman heroes will be. I'm sure we will see White Tiger and Luke Cage. Maybe a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent or two? Iron Spiderman outfit(that would be sweet)? As for villains, Mesmero would be a great one, as he's been a couple of episodes already. We definitely need a Lizard mini(maxi?)fig.

Isn't the X-Men movie to be based on Days of Future Past? That should be an interesting set of minifigs. Yay, old Wolverine! The Guardians of the Galaxy sets are going to be awesome no matter what lol.
  • vitreolumvitreolum Member Posts: 1,406
Electro and Rhino will probably be in the Spiderman sets, since those are in the movie.

I like the sound of these, although I am particularly keen to hear what villains might be included in the DC sets (other than Manbat and the Joker that is).

If they are using the Lego Juniors name, I assume they will be this style ...

Interested to know what will be in the Avengers and X-Men sets, would like to get a Hulk for my son without having to get Hawkeye and Thor and the rest.
  • andheandhe Member Posts: 3,916
^I wonder if they are just keeping the 'Avengers' branding to release tie-ins with Captain America/Thor 2.

Or sets loosely based on those films but with a few of the other familiar faces thrown in for good luck (we've seen from the Iron Man 3 sets that they seem to be 'inspired by' rather than relating directly to their movie licences).
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,539
I hope the X-Men figs keep the classic look used in the Wolverine Chopper set rather than trying to emulate the films. I imagine that has to be the case anyway for license issues. That is smart of them to put them out to coincide with the film even if they aren't movie tie-ins. They will sell a lot more of them, and we won't get weird crap like the Iron Man 3 Showdown flaming golfcart hopefully.

That was my initial thought, hence the "hopefully...".

With all the momentum LEGO currently has with the minifigure as an icon, all the licensed minifigures that have been recently released, and the upcoming LEGO Movie pushing it even further into public awareness, I'd be surprised if they break from the standard minifigure.

  • sonatine01sonatine01 Member Posts: 782
^^^ I haven't seen Thor 2 but presume the other guys aren't in it, i guess with just 2 sets they may just stick with the films characters if it is a movie tie-in. Who knows guess we'll have to wait for more info.

Never heard of Guardians of the Galaxy but just had a look and theres some little fox/racoon dude. My son would like him, he looks like a meaner Chima figure.
  • Steve_J_OMSteve_J_OM Member Posts: 993
Hooray for Guardians of the Galaxy!

I read more DC than Marvel, which has been reflected in my LEGO collecting habits. Guardians is a great series, though, so I think they will be my first foray into Marvel minifigures.
  • AdeelZubairAdeelZubair Member Posts: 2,703
I believe that Lego will make sets based off:

-3 sets for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as we got a Conic Con preview minifigure

-2 sets for Captain America The Winter Solider

-3 sets for Guardians of the Galaxy

    -X-Men, Days of Future Past

And I bet they will use parts from Chima for Rocket Raccoon....such as Skinnet's tail.

Sounds pretty great. More X-Men is fantastic news, and been waiting for more Spidey sets too. Guardians will be interesting, not as well known but along with the movie they could be a big hit.

... Iron Spiderman outfit(that would be sweet)?

^ This! After getting an Iron Patriot, this is definitely the figure at top of my most wanted list.

I'd like to see the superhero sets include a few more passer-by/civilian fig in the sets (or at least a bonus 'realistic colours' head to use myself) - like the security policeman found in the two-face chase/arkham sets.

Why? because my super heroes need people to SAVE from the baddies, (or people for the baddies to terrorize), and I don't like using my classic heads with new realistic ones in the same street scene.

Also: Peter Parker and Clark Kent in 'not-hero' form.

For Clark you could always switch out the torso from the LEGO Batman 2 DVD - but I know what you mean about civilians.

The old-style flesh Peter Parker still shows up on eBay frm time to time. Here's a listing I spotted today:

Didn't notice the Spidey 2 sets had flesh MF's until now.
