Anyone seen any 2014 Star Wars sets out in the wild yet? (UK) If not when are we likely to see them. I want to get my hands on the Death Star Troopers!

@mcvitie - I believe the Star Wars sets are only in LEGO stores or online at the moment.

Almost certainly saw the DS Trooper set at Watford Lego yesterday morning.

Saw the DS trooper set in Metrocentre Lego store yesterday - they're definitely out there - £11.99, and the new small ship sets replacing planets - at £8.99 each.

I'm undecided on the micro fighters sets, only reason i would get the, is for the mini figures, actual ships I do not really like.

All but a couple of the new Star Wars sets out in the Westfield London LEGO Store today! I didn't see General Grievous' Wheel Bike, Battle on Saleucami or the X-Wing Microfighter, so lucky I had the foresight of ordering a wheel bike online on Boxing Day! Some of the stocks were looking a little low when I got there at 6pm though, so beware ;-)

(p.s. I also saw a lone Snowspeeder and Hoth Planet set in there as well if anyone wants to get it, if it's still there ;-) Just thought I'd put it out there)

Smyths seem to have a handful of the new sets online too, not sure about in store
  • luckyrussluckyruss Member Posts: 872
They had pretty much all of them at the Watford store yesterday - I didn't check the shelves fastidiously but they certainly had all the battle packs, Grievous, Anakin's yellow interceptor, the V-Wing, the Police Gunship, there were others too (couldn't attest to every one)

Apparently these are in French TRU stores, can anyone confirm this?
  • oceanangeloceanangel Member Posts: 149
Can't see the kashyyk set, has it sold out already?
  • rancorbaitrancorbait Member Posts: 1,842
@oceanangel I think it hasn't been added to S@H yet.
  • oceanangeloceanangel Member Posts: 149
@rancorbait thank you, I shall keep checking for it

Some of those sets are potentially exciting, so long as they don't go the Khettana route and wind up significantly worse than the originals.

not sure the Cantina can be any worse than the original (other than for nostalgic reasons)! Return of a dewback would be welcome?!

Sounds like a good OT line up, accepting that by this stage everything is going to be a remake. Excited to see a new star destroyer.

    Happy New Year!

That's a pretty sweet lineup, though I'd like to see a little more from episode IV but it'll be nice to have one year with all OT sets. Also, how come the new sets are nowhere to be found in the US? They were routinely available by this point...
  • VortexVortex Member Posts: 342
Kickass!! Apologies ... But just as I was writing of the year for SW .. Wow , hopefully and like a 1430 ish piece star destroyer, snow speeder, and a Cantina! Even though I have the UCS AtAt I might still succumb to the new one depending... Oooh sudden budgetary pangs and chin rubbing tooo ... Back to the calculator and then the wife for a Lego budgetb2014 amendment. ..... HAPPY NEW YEARR :)
  • VortexVortex Member Posts: 342
    * correction --- I was still in bed and wetting myself when I first checked Eurobrick. After freshening up and checking again realised my groggy eyes mistook the ATAT for AtST... This is just brilliant , even better .. Safe to say my Essential SW collection is complete or will be complete this year.

Those look pretty great, definitely can't wait for the Cantina set.

Feels a little to soon for another AT -AT to me. The Star Destroyer makes perfect sense though.
  • korkor Member Posts: 392
Cantina! My mind is racing with the possible new minifigs as well as one long overdue remake :)

75053 - The Ghost piece number unknown yet 26090 HUF ~ 90-100 EUR

    what can this be?
And at last Cantina is back ! I hope we will have 2 of the creatures ;)
  • sliverbrichsliverbrich Member Posts: 91
The Ghost is name the name of a new ship appearing in Star Wars Rebels

Mmmm... I really like the fact we're finally getting a Cantina remake. But if it lacks both a) a Dewback and b) an updated Greedo, I will not be interested! But if they failed to put Boga into #75040, I do not hold my breath. Come on LEGO, surprise me.

On the other hand: Why do we need another B-Wing? We now have more LEGO models of it than it had seconds of screen time!

Wow. A very good (and expensive) year in prospect for the OT fan.
  • suprajamessuprajames Member Posts: 366
Indeed, looks like I am in for a pricey year, will start putting money away now. Still loads of 2013 sets I have still not got as well.
  • rancorbaitrancorbait Member Posts: 1,842
^ If that's what it looks like I think I'll pass.

I assume no ucs at-at this year based on this news though a system scale 1100 piece version could be worth a look. Cantina is welcome.

Expect to see many Cantinas, Greedos, B-Wings, Snowspeeders, and At-Ats on eBay in the coming months :-)

Ok, so prelims of the ISD, Cantina, and AT-AT are on Youtube. If anyone can't find them, PM me.

    The Cantina looks... bad.

It is extremely disappointing n my opinion. I prefer the old dewback.

^The Cantina doesn't bug me that much, but only because the reported price-point led me to believe it would be something like that. I'd have much rather had more Cantina than landspeeder, though...

The AT-AT, on the other hand, looks abysmal, and is the kind of downgrade from any of its predecessors that I was hoping NOT to see.

@91stlegotrooper I think that one is just a poorly designed digital 'model', the official one should look more like this:

Yep - that dewback in the box image is just a digital placeholder. Doesn't even look slightly Lego-ish.

Isn't it just a 'placeholder' (8129) image? It's supposed to have 1138 parts which should make it considerably more impressive than the previous one.

That's possible actually, the one in the picture appears to be identical to #8129.

Now that I count the studs, that seems possible. I suppose it's the angle making the legs seem idiotically long relative to the body.
  • korkor Member Posts: 392
I'll wait until I see official images to pass judgement on any of these sets. My interest in the Cantina is purely for the minifigs. If I want a complete or great looking Cantina I'll build my own.
  • CapnRex101CapnRex101 Administrator Posts: 2,364
The AT-AT does look the same as ##8129, although with the addition of the new spring loaded missile launcher on either side of the head.

As for the others, I am not very impressed with the Cantina, but it looks like we get Greedo, two of the Modal Nodes and of course a new Dewback, which will look great judging by other large animals recently produced. The dinosaurs from the Dino theme of 2012 spring to mind.

The Imperial Star Destroyer looks quite good to me, and I like the fact that many of the aesthetic features of #6211 have been maintained by the looks of it.

However, I am most excited about the Ithorian appearing in #75051, he looks fantastic and I am delighted to finally have this legendary Star Wars alien in LEGO!

The only one I was able to find was Cantina, which looks like a huge letdown. I thought 600+ pieces would have given us something much more substantial than the original. Also, from the image I saw it looks like they have put another Landspeeder with it. That seems like a waste of pieces, given the relatively recent #8092

When you do a YouTube search filter the results for "upload date" and sellect Today or Last Week. You should find them, not that they are very good photos.
  • ISDAvengerISDAvenger Member Posts: 205
I found them, thanks. The AT-AT and ISD look like the older versions....not that impressed...at least for now. I wonder if the rumor of a UCS Sandcrawler will come true or not.
  • hoyatableshoyatables Member Posts: 873
As far as the Cantina goes, I'm not sure it will actually include the land speeder. That might have been in there just for color. I though the actual play set looked good. Entrance door, a couple of tables, and at least one other section. Hoping against hope for a spot for the Cantina Band and Figrin Dan. Or maybe, much like Jabba's palace, we will get an expansion pack with more "rooms" in the Cantina?

Oh and this makes me pretty confident that 2015 will see Cloud City....!

Pretty sure that, at least for the AT-AT, it's placeholder art. I have the old AT-AT next to my desk, and in a side by side comparison, they appeared to be identical, except maybe for the new flick missles.

If you closely at the cantina image, you'll see that they are using Squidward's head as a placeholder on two of the minifigs as well, leading me to hope that the cantina image is not final either.
  • vitreolumvitreolum Member Posts: 1,406
The cantina seems to include a jek-14 minifig, so it's not going to be an old trilogy set. Still hoping for a Greedo but I don't know if it will happen.
