@trickydicky0880 - Just noticed that too! I'm thinking hoping another wave of sets for 2014 ;-)

Over at eurobricks it looks like they have discovered two new hobbit polybags 30215 with Legolas and 30216 with a laketown guard at the back of the instruction manual.

The advertisement says the Hobbit journey concludes in 2014 so it seems pretty clear there will be one more final Hobbit wave sometimes in 2014. Wether it will be a summer or winter wave is the only real question, winter seems the most likely since that is when the final film will hit theaters. The other big question is if there will be a third LotR wave or not.

^^^^ The Hobbit's finale will be out in December 2014, not summer. At least I'm pretty sure I saw that.

Just being curious: What did you "see" where? :-)

You are correct. All J.R.R. Tolkien films are released in December.

I wonder if Jackson will go on after The Hobbit, would love to see a movie after Turin's tale. I doubt Lego sets would follow that though.
  • icey117icey117 Member Posts: 510
@vitreolum I'm pretty sure both Jackson and high-cash Hollywood is done with Tolkiens Middle-earth for quite a number of years. Though I for one would love them to dig out more of the tales... well, beside the fact that I NEED TO WAIT 24 month from the beginning to the end of the story. Its almost one month for each page of the book.

^ Since the Tolkien Estate is currently suing WB (who have countersued), I don't think any more material will be released. J.R.R. Tolkien sold movie and merchandise rights in 1969 for The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. The other material is controlled by Christopher Tolkien and he isn't very happy with the adaptations.

That's because I believe they make no money at all from them, except for an increase in book sales.

Yeah, those will be the two polybags. The Lake Guard one is actually a great choice.
  • icey117icey117 Member Posts: 510
^ah, just saw they were already in the DB. Maybe it's old news :-/
  • icey117icey117 Member Posts: 510
@Hardrada It is a new thing that the polybag-minifigs make it to the Minifg-overview page in the booklets. I think that is first time they do, isn' it? Usually the polybags (and formerly the impulse-sets) were never really promoted.... Obviously because they are the promotion, I guess.

Legolas again though? I guess he can be an extra elf
  • yys4uyys4u Member Posts: 1,093
Through Eurobricks (sorry if this was mentioned on this forum, haven't read through all the posts) I realized that TRU has the sets at MSRP and have a promo for 15% off. I purchased the Lake House Set as it was the only one that was shown as available for in store pick up in my area. I'll let you all know if I was successful in getting the set, hopefully tonight.
  • icey117icey117 Member Posts: 510
@dannyrrw One can never get enough elves nor guards. :-)

No luck, they cancelled my order... Dunno if it's because they didn't want to apply the 15% off or cause they realized the sets aren't supposed to be sold till later on.

He is the same as the one in the set isn't he, just with a different weapon.

Legolas will be useful for his head and hair, if the poly is cheap enough.

The 2 #79014 from my order have shipped and the #79012 and #79011 say located in stock. Not sure why they would cancel orders since they always seem to sell stuff early.
  • klatu003klatu003 Member Posts: 729
    My experience:
#79014 from ToysRUs.com (MSRP - 15%) is in UPS tracking.
#79011 #79012 #79013 from KMart.com (MSRP minus points from 2012 Hobbit purchase, which I forgot about, slightly better than 16%) arriving tomorrow.
We stopped at the physical ToysRUs [Arrowhead - AZ] just for grins yesterday. They had #79012 and #79013 on the shelf for MSRP (15% coupon would work). I almost fainted. They had the Christmas Tree bonus behind the desk at customer service.

Sets are available in store. I don't know why your order would cancel?

I found some sets in store. I took them to the register to check out. The clerk took them from me and said they were put on the shelves by mistake and would not be available until December 1st. Sadly, I had to leave empty handed.

^ If you order online and do store pickup they'd have to honor it if their store shows up as letting you order with that method. I would have done it standing right there in the store to watch their faces as they had to get the sets back out for me. =)

I got Lake Town delivered a day or two ago from TRU and it still shows for sale online. What the heck?

That's exactly what I tried (Granted I wasn't there in the store when I ordered) but after a couple hours I got an email saying my item was cancelled. Still not sure why. Maybe I'll just have it shipped then.

They seem to be availble at Argos (UK) now as well. Or at least the website implies that they are available for store pick-up.
  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,556
^ Now we just need them to accidently put them in the half price sale.

Just seen the new sets at TRU Portsmouth. Doing a spend £75 and get a £20 gift card too. Might go back and get them tomorrow..

I just got the whole wave at Barnes and Noble. They have 30% off coupon and buy one get 1/2 off, both ending tomorrow, and 10% member discount.

/\/\/\/\/\ Me too. I think I have bought more LEGO at B&N this year because of the sales then I have anyplace else.

The advent calendars this year seems so much like copy-paste from last year. Makes me wonder just how cool a Hobbit- or LOTR-Calendar could have been :-)

    Maybe next Christmas?!
Dear Santa-- I have been astoundingly good this year (oh yes, my son has too of course).
By the way, speaking of wishes, my son saw Lego Huset on the TVS video...
  • emilewskiemilewski Member Posts: 482
^ Presumably, although they may surface elsewhere eventually. I have been hitting my local TRU once or twice a week waiting for them to get them in (in USA).

^ I had the service desk look up the #30216 in their system on Thursday. The polys are in there, but not completely. They couldn't view all product info or select any additional options like they can with current stock. I'm guessing the 30216's aren't in TRU stores yet but with the movie opening this week I'm betting they will be soon.
  • klatu003klatu003 Member Posts: 729
I ordered #30216 online 11/29, they mailed 12/4, are supposed to deliver 12/9. We will see. They were not in store yesterday.

I want a Kraken in addition to the Balrog. All the cool monsters reside in Moria!

Has anyone heard anything about the Legolas Polybag #30215 ? I haven't seen any information on when/where it was available.
  • Bosstone100Bosstone100 Member Posts: 1,431
I believe I saw #30216 in TRU across the street. Maybe I'll stop in there after work today.
