Anyone know what's going on with Chima Online launch?

Up until two days ago www.chimaonline.com went to a title page that said the game was launching on August 1st. All day long (on August 1st, that is) it said that. At some point late in the day it switched to "We're making final updates. We're almost there! Keep checking back!" It still says that. No hint of when.

I've had trouble finding any current information about what's going on with this launch. Anyone know what's going on? I'm sure there's an NDA but it would be nice to know how long "almost there" will be.

It's an online game. Timing is important in the gaming industry, but if a game isn't suitable for players just yet, aren't you glad that they are taking the time to perfect it?

Guess I should follow up on my own question: Chima Online went live today. It says "beta" but anyone can play and they'll let you subscribe or buy "gold bricks" so it seems like a launch, pretty much.

Seems fun so far, or at least my 7 year old thinks it's the best thing ever.

It's called "Open Beta," which, unlike "Closed Beta," is available for everyone to play. Being that it still is Beta, it isn't perfect, but a fun game otherwise.

Still says "We're making final updates. We're almost there! Keep checking back!" but might be a regional thing? (I'm in the UK). Maybe they've rolled out an Open Beta to certain countries?

I like the look of that Rhino guy though. Rocksteady?:P
