Disney stores have already clearanced all Lone Ranger items, including LEGO sets. Just picked up #79111, #79110 and #79109 for a total of $129.97 + tax. Check your local Disney Stores (not Disney Outlet Stores).

The reason I say not Outlet Stores is because I called one of those first and they said they have no LR stuff yet.

I can confirm it. I stumbled into it yesterday. I saw a lady in the check out line with a LEGO set and started searching and found them....and to think I was that close to a great deal and almost missed it.

I got the same deal- 40% off the 3 sets. Thanks for the heads up @ckenda1

Impressed. I hit two Disney stores today and there was absolutely nothing. I am not sure they ever had Lego to begin with at those stores, though.

I can confirm this, the TLR sets did go on clearance on Monday apparently. Unfortunately my local Disney Store was sold out of everything.
  • tamamahmtamamahm Member Posts: 1,987
(Note: I specifically mean, I'm not sure the two stores I went to had Lego stock. We were there fairly recently, and I just don't recall any. That doesn't mean they didn't have it, which is why I checked anyway. :-) )

Went to Mall of America Disney store and only found one kinda beat up Silver Mine. Left it... Want the train and coach...

My Disney store said they didn't carry that kind of merchandise and speculated that it may just be in select stores.
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
Not sure if they were, but 'that kind of merchandise' comes across like they were looking down on LEGO as some kind of inferior toy!

No doubt they are full of plush toys made in chinese sweatshops and other plastic tat though!

Wonder if this reduction in price means someone can get Amazon to match? I thnik $60.00 for #79111 sounds a very nice price indeed.
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,788
Yeah, but not sure how Amazon confirms such a deal, if it is not at every store and not a documented sale, will Amazon just accept a pic of the price tag?
  • ckenda1ckenda1 Member Posts: 121
@cheshirecat -- Is your local store an Outlet store? or possibly a really small Disney store? Outlet Stores haven't gotten LR stuff yet because it's still in regular stores.

I think it depends on how one reads that.

I think if one said it in a snooty tone...
"Oh, we don't care THAT kind of merchandise.", then yes, it sounds like one is looking down.

Versus if one walked into Home Depot looking for the toy aisle, and an employee stated "We don't carry that kind of merchandise.', it is simply an expression of that they don't carry toys.

Disney in general carries their merchandise, and not what one typically find in other stores (some exceptions), and I would assume that is simply what the person was referring to. It was why this thread initially surprised me, because no... Disney doesn't typically carry toys like Lego.

Amazon doesn't match things below a certain threshold, nor do they match clearance prices.

The store I found the sale in was at a regular store. The one in New Orleans is pretty good size.

I have 2 Disney Stores in the sacramento area and the one close to me was sold out but the other had a few sets left. they were only in the back room and you had to ask for them or you would never know they had any. I called them and they put a few on hold for me to grab within a day. I got the last silver mine shootout and a few stagecoaches and colby city's. they only had those 3 sets. They did say that more would probably arrive even though they are on clearance and to call them to check in a week.

@ tamamahm I was being a little bit silly, I can't imagine a Disney employee being snooty. All Disney stores ive been in in the UK have stocked lego, as part of a films display area. Toy story, cars etc.

Costa Mesa store sold out quickly. Last items were bought yesterday. Word seems to travel quite fast once 'clearance' is mentioned.

^Just called Del Amo in Torrance and was informed sold out too.

Anyone know about Tyson's Corner or Potomac Mills, VA?
  • YellowcastleYellowcastle Administrator, Moderator Posts: 5,234
Oh wait, the Brickfairites are in town.... no LEGO will be found for miles. ;o)

Just remembered seeing a few at Disney in Southcoast Mall this past weekend. Too far out for the gas to make sense with savings, so anyone in the area should give it a shot with a call.
  • ckenda1ckenda1 Member Posts: 121
@Yellowcastle -- I checked Tyson's for you and they have nothing left. I didn't call Potomac Mills as they are an outlet however you could give them a call.

If anyone was able to pick up an extra Stagecoach #79108 and wants to sell, please PM me. They didn't have that one at my store. Thanks
  • gmpirategmpirate Member Posts: 1,654
Was at Downtown Disney tonight so I peeked inside the Disney Store. They had a whole section of Lone Ranger toys but they were not marked down. Found one stagecoach with a sticker price of $50. Didn't have time to spend checking on "one" set so I put it back.

I know they used to have the Lone Ranger sets one two weeks ago . . .
  • Thanos75Thanos75 Member Posts: 1,120
$50 for the stagecoach...wow. Instead of going on sale for 40% off they went up 55%

Thanks to the OP for the heads up. My local store only had the mine set left, but after reading the Brickset reviews, I decided to pick one up. Great set for kids with loads of play value, and at 40% off it's not a bad price.

Time will tell whether Target will discount these at 40% or more (as they did with POP).

hmmm.... disney store is one store over from the lego store over here... been in a few times when there with friends with kids, never saw any lego, should be that way later, will have to check it out

Target, well, some Targets, already did discount the TLR range for 30%.
