Weather seems to have warmed up a bit this year ;0) Loving this addition - and can see some new elements in there I think! The 1x1 round tile with spiral will be awesome for crazed eyes!

Is that the coveted dark blue 1x8x2 arch I see? At least two of them?

@plell indeed it is! Ho HO HO! Astrid specifically mentions it in the designer video. How very very nice of TLG.

2 x dark blue arches seen in this set at the small stores... this will collapse the really expensive parts market for these, and BL'd Market streets will thrive.

Yes that's it! I feel a sense of completion now. That was the last set I was waiting to get pictures of for the year. Now to come up with funds for this and ewok village and numerous pirate sets from another bricksetter....

May be for the side of the carousel, I don't see any stickers, so there is hope that those 1x4 tiles are printed..

I guess this is good news for people who are Bricklinking the MS. Good job on LEGO's part for listening to fan input and actually taking action.

Good thing I sold mine when I did!

Couldn't resist looking this up too... http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPG.asp?P=3308&colorID=63

They will sell a ton of these... That is my prediction... and when it retires it will do well. :)
  • rancorbaitrancorbait Member Posts: 1,842
@caperberry- It looks like you will indeed have some new parts.
did anyone see those mini stars? And the detail on those horses is awesome, cant wait. :-)

I assumed the stars were the ones from Friends sets, will check that out.

I'm not a fan of horses (still hanker for the brick-built ones of my youth!) but
I can't begrudge these ones, they're soooo beautiful.

They brought back dark blue arches to help "rebuild old modular buildings."

Wut. Well, I guess that'll bring the secondary market price down, but this set only has 2 and I need 5 for my sourced Market Street. To the parts replacement site!

looks great, i love the coursel, just wish it was a little less snowy (moc fun begins) so i can add it to my lego city - it's just what my central park area needs.

I suppose this is the Exclusive LEGO Set being announced at Brickfête this weekend.

    Quite a lovely set!

Drat, too late to edit my last comment...

@ColoradoBricks At the top of the carousel and the game booth I see what look like pearl gold 2x2 round tiles with reflective silver stickers on them. But may my eyes deceive me and these parts, as well as the 1x4 tiles, be printed rather than stickers!

^ I watched the video, they are actually reflective (like mirrors) so I think they will be stickers... (but even if they are it is not that many all together)

Argh, I am currently traveling outside the US and where I am at both FB and YT are blocked. Does anyone have another link (just want to take a look at some pics, even the cover will be fine)? Thankee.

can't wait to hopefully see it tomorrow.

Wow! In fact, the only set so far this year that I can say that about!
  • HokieJoe99HokieJoe99 Member Posts: 351
They really are pushing those trees on the Facebook page. How many pictures of those do we need, and how many are actually in the set?

This looks nice, but it just feels overpriced at $99.99. It seems more like a $60-$70 dollar set to me.
  • SirBenSirBen Member Posts: 594
    ^ 3 trees, 1 large & 2 small

@poochy Searching Flickr for "10235 Winter Village Market" will bring up most of the pictures, but as they were posted by other affiliate-funded websites I don't think posting the links here is kosher. Although I suppose if FB & YT are blocked there, Flicker probably is too.
  • ColoradoBricksColoradoBricks Member Posts: 1,659
At 1260 pieces, 9 minifigs, 2 printed horses, lot of accessories, I am OK with the $99 price and if it takes the same road as #10229, it will be at $70 in March...

I noticed the "Combine with 10229 Winter Village Cottage for an even bigger winter scene!", no mention of any other Winter set, it could mean that #10222 is actually retired...
  • PoochyPoochy Member Posts: 479
@SirBen Thanks for the tips, as I was able to access Flickr and am salivating over the pics on there :).

Damn. There's no way I'm not buying this. This was my last hold out theme; The last theme I was sticking to my guns on and staying away from b/c I had missed the earlier sets. So much for that.

The carousel is brilliant and it looks like it would fit outside of the winter theme just fine.
  • aplbomr79aplbomr79 Member Posts: 159
Definitely not disappointed by this set.

Looks like I will have to increase the size of my frozen pond and purchase more large white plates!
  • LukeSkywalkerLukeSkywalker Member Posts: 231
Another must-have for the winter village collection, it's building up ;) (sorry) to become quite a scene!

Can anyone tell if the teddy bear is light/dark brown, as opposed to the caramel-brown (as I like to describe the colour) of the series 6 bear?

This has been the first holiday set in a while I am really excited for. I absolutely adore that carousel. There really is a ton of play value here. There is no question this is a set I plan to buy.
  • thenosthenos Member Posts: 444
This wasn't what I was expecting. It's cute. Seems like some good play value and isn't "just" another building. Still... Maybe I need to go watch the video again but it seems like much more simple fodder (in nice colors) other than the carousel. Also, I live in Minnesota, I wouldn't want to go on a carousel in winter. And do most outdoor markets have carousels? Am I missing something?

@RainingBoroSi02 No, part 11609 appears in Flame Yellowish Orange/Bright Light Orange in two friends sets #41001 Mia's Magic Tricks & #41004 Rehearsal Stage

As a seasonal collector, this is a very very nice set. The dark blue arches are a very unexpected addition and the fact that it's not just a building will mean displaying the winter village will be easier. Think this is top of my list now! Now hopefully we'll have a 2013 Christmas Set in this theme too :)

I really really like this. It has so many cute features.
But I had to pass last year on the cottage because of the price, not sure I can afford to pick up this one either. The jump from £45-£50 to £80-90 on these sets is just a bit more than I can afford :-(

^ I can just see the 2013 holiday set being another stall.

So the forum post I mentioned back in Feb seems to have been correct: http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/9404/10222-winter-village-post-is-alleged-to-have-been-retired/
