I wanted to let everyone know that on the TRU website the new summer sets are listed. These include the new cargo line, stunt plane, monster truck transport, grand prix truck. As usual they are more than RRP.

I was the new cargo plane! I may have to investigate this. Thanks for the heads up.

Ooh wow, and there's even a "huge" summer sale on older sets! Look at those prices. Some are as low as ever-so-slightly under MSRP! What a bargain.

I was already confused, but now even more so. :-) I feel your pain!

It's on sale, but was marked up, is now BOGO, but OOS, you get a free collectible, but they don't have any, it's on sale on the website, but on in the store, it's on some kinda convoluted sale, but the clerk doesn't know how to ring up the purchase correctly.

I think I'm gonna buy a car that has a rebate and include a my trade-in. Then, haggle with the sales person. That's less confusing.

TRU also has a clearance sale going on now and LoTR Weathertop set is 54.98 and then you get another 20% off of that price if you use their clearance checkout code.
That is an 'Okay' deal but you then have to pay for shipping, unless you buy something else, maybe another Weathertop and then you get both roughly for 52-53 a piece after tax...
Not great, but what do you expect from TRU at this point?

    What was that code again?

I think it is blast20, but it only works for items that are in their Clearance section online

The code only worked on ONE clearance item in the cart. So unless you bought something else with 9472 you would not qualified for free shipping. Other option was to purchase it for store pickup.

Yeah, some days I wonder why I even try with TRU anymore. So tired of the game and eventual disappointment when you get to the cart.

Of course, I mostly blame ignorant consumers, like the parents I saw walking out of there with a new Jabba & Rancor Pit for over $220 a couple weeks ago.

You mean the Palace and Rancor Pit
    120+60=180, 40 over spent.

That's RRP, I'm talking about getting them at Amazon right now, it's about 96 + 48, so about 76 over spent, even shipped to your house potentially tax free.

Shrug, such is the retail world today.

^ Food for thought....the same reason TRU can sell at over MSRP is the same reason that there is a very active reseller market: people find value in Lego no matter the price.

I partially agree, but with reselling, it's a tightly woven tapestry of supply and demand. With "live" sets, supply is at a peak, so it's either ignorance or laziness when people pay more than they should.

Reselling goes based on market demand for the most part. TRU charges whatever they think they can get away with regardless of what others may have.

does anyone know the availability of the new star wars sets from Shop at home?

^they are listed on [email protected] USA with a release date of August 1 but there is always a chance they bump it to earlier

These sets are no longer on the TRU website. I wonder if LEGO told TRU to remove them.
