Purple decorator CMF?

TheLoneTensorTheLoneTensor Member Posts: 3,937
On the recent CMF poster that Lego offered, who is this guy in the red circle? He's not Series 10's decorator - he's in the green circle.

Looks like a palate swap, but wondering where he came from and why he's on this poster.

Same guy, he's just painting another room. Not sure I'm liking his colour choices though.

Seriously though, I have no idea.

Heh, I meant palette, of course, silly autocorrect.

there's a missing minifigure. i counted 161 including mr. gold. if the painter is doubled, one of the CMFs is missing

Ok if I'm right, there are two Painters and two Bumble bee girls and the S7 swimmer and S9 Roller derby girl are missing.

Geez I've got too much time on my hands today :)

I think you meant the other way round right? I only have the purple one, not seen the blue one...

^I certainly only have and have seen the light-blue decorator, both physically and in every display/print (except this poster). Are you saying you have a purple one?

Sorry @tensor the post was supposed to have a smily winky on the end.
Was just trying to be funny. Not very succesfully!

Heh, we can look back and laugh at it now :)

My daughter has a pink roller on her painter. Her painter is also a girl!

My guess is that the mystery painter was the original color palette, but at some point they changed the color of the room he was painting and sent new art to the poster people who inadvertently replaced the wrong minifig in the poster. I hope the poster isn't indicative of the quality of the book they're promoting :-\

^I got the book a couple weeks back for the toy soldier minifig, and while I didn't read the book super carefully since I'm not the intended audience, I was impressed that it seemed well designed and put together, and I didn't notice any glaring errors in the content. The only thing I'm not sure about is how sturdy the book's binding is, but for casual reading, it held together fine.

For the record, the book is mostly cheese, jokes and monstrous pictures which are great for kids. Also, there are interesting facts and trivia things. If you're really into CMFs, the book is worth it for $10 even without the toy soldier. With the toy soldier, it's a no-brainer to get.

The CMF book is totally worth it, I preordered from amazon and got it right away when it was released. When the life size X-Wing was in Times Square I got to meet Kel, the guy who's name & favorite animal are on the S5 lumberjack!

So did Kel tell you he liked beaver?

My 5 yr old and I are having loads of fun with the book. We read about 4 new minifigures each night prior to bed. He loves it. The toy soldier is awesome.

Downside: we only started collecting at series 5... Now I want series 1-4.

I'm in the same boat @Deadareus.
I started collecting from series 1 but only the CMFs I liked. After reading the book I now want to fill in the gaps and complete each series.

I somehow doubt lego would ever make one like that in red. An official figure with blood splats all over his clothes? In a toy line where they sell chainsaws too? I think not.

It may even be the reason they didn't go with purple.

I too can back that up. Purchased a 5 last month and got the poster. This thread has piqued my interest in the poster which has prompted me to open it and enjoy it. It's things like this that make you realize how great of a community we are and how this environment allows for everything to enjoy lego.
