Iron Patriot minifigure.

FoxyA19FoxyA19 Member Posts: 124
I believe I have put this up before, however no-one had any relevant information. Does anybody know if the Iron Patriot mini-figure which is available by pre-ordering at walmart, will be available in the UK, or will we have to pay ridiculous prices to get one?

I think it's going to be the same situation as it was with Elrond, only available with the game preorder.
  • FoxyA19FoxyA19 Member Posts: 124
Understandable, however it should be available in other countries not just USA, I find this unfair!

Perhaps it has been restricted to the US as it is a nationalized toy? Haven't there been sets in the past specifically designed for European countries?

When you pre-order Lego Marvel Super Heroes Video Game at Walmart you will receive a Lego Gun Mounting System (30168)

Lego Gun Mounting System (30168) should be given to every person in the world who pre-orders or purchases Lego Marvel Super Heroes Video Game. I myself like other people who have collected all of the Iron Man 3 minifigures and armours will have this minifigure of the Iron Patriot from their reach except people who live in the US which is very unfair.

Lego has already given us a War Machine minifigure in Lego Extremis Sea Port Battle (76006) which they have cheated us and should have given us a Iron Patriot instead (This may be due to revealing spoilers from the film, so that’s understandable)

Tell me if you agree that some country's don’t receive better treatment than others like the UK has not got the Lego Batman: DC Super Heroes Unite movie or the Exclusive Hobbit film with the Bilbo minifigure?

I went to my local walmart and they didn't have them. Is it supposed to be given out when you pick up the game?

    I'm located in the US.
  • GIR3691GIR3691 Member Posts: 674
You get it when you pick up the game.

  • starfire2starfire2 Member Posts: 1,335
^It should but only time will tell!
  • kyrotekkyrotek Member Posts: 212
And the UK will be waiting until November 15th for the release apparently

Well that certainly makes more sense.

I checked with the Walmart CS on it as I was not seeing it in the pre-order invoice, but their response was that it is coming with the game.
  • Pitfall69Pitfall69 Member Posts: 11,454
The Iron Patriot comes packaged with the game. No need to preorder it. They won't be handing these out when you come pick up your game. On Tuesday you can just go buy the game :)
  • DoubleDDoubleD Member Posts: 488
Well if I don't have to preorder. There is a GameStop in the parking lot maybe I will open it and go sell the game right away, and buy another if I am basically paying like 10 bucks for the figure i can live with that.

I thought the Iron Patriot is a Walmart Exclusive???
  • y2joshy2josh Member Posts: 1,996
^I think @doubledbrick was saying there was a GameStop he could sell the game to immediately and just keep the figure for a loss of ten dollars.

Though... if anyone thinks GameStop is going to give them $40 for a $50 game... that's a different story.

I think it is but there is a GameStop in the Walmart parking lot, I have no interest in the game I didn't want to per order 2 copies of the game. but if it is included without a preorder I can take the game and sell it right away. And not take a big lost I will go back and buy a couple games to trade.
  • DoubleDDoubleD Member Posts: 488
Best bet is GameStop giving $30 and that is a stretch, so is it worth $20-$25 for a second iron patriot to trade on here?
Sorry about my post above my phone doesn't keep up with my thoughts.
  • y2joshy2josh Member Posts: 1,996
GameStop giving $30 for a $60 game is a bit of a stretch... I think you'll be lucky to get north of $20 (and it's lower if you get cash), but I don't know what that particular figure will be worth. I'd still guess selling it to GameStop is going to result in a wash at best. You'd be better off finding somebody that actually wants the game (but not the minifig) and selling it to them for $35 or $40, in my opinion.

Maybe you can trade a Hoth Han for one. I hear they will be valuable in the future ;)
  • y2joshy2josh Member Posts: 1,996
^They ARE both equally amazing figures, though I still imagine the B-Wing fire sale pretty much ruined my chances of winning that bet.

Gamestop only does store credit from what I've seen for selling games. :(
  • y2joshy2josh Member Posts: 1,996
That's very possible. I haven't been in there in well over a decade (not since I stopped working there), but they used to do cash at a lower rate than whatever laughably low store credit offer they were making.

I just want the Iron Patriot minifigure but don't want the game because I don't have a console to play it on what do I do?
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
^ It's pretty obvious really, you have two options:

    1) Buy the cheapest version of the game going (Nintendo 3DS version in the UK) take the polybag and sell the game on ebay or trade it in for cash at CEX (they usually give the best cash trade in prices in the UK).

    2) Buy the polybag on ebay, Bricklink or Brick Owl.

I'm betting option 1 will end up the cheaper option.

    I see 3 options:
Buy game, keep figure and sell the game
Buy fig on ebay or bricklink
    Trade for one

Try to do the math and see what is the cheapest way. Me, I'm going to try to flip a game or two. :)

From what I understand it is only coming with games for the will u, Xbox 360 and ps3. I pretty sure all the games are 50 bucks.
Does BestBuy buy games I heard they were going to start?

I would consider keeping the game if you have the console. This game is going to be good. I'm not a huge gamer but I've played LEGO games in the past and this one looks incredible.

If you are wanting to sell it, I have heard that some people buy the game at Walmart and receive the minifig, then they wait a couple days and just take the game back. If the plastic wrapping is left on, Walmart will give you an in store credit refund.

I don't know if that's necessarily honest though.

  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
The polybag is in the outer box along with the game, if the outer box is wrapped then that wouldn't be possible.

    It's also theft.
