I was at my local Lego store today and they will be offering the long-awaited 30141 Alien Conquest Jetpack polybag. The set will be free with with ANY $35 purchase and will NOT be available for individual sale. Offer is available 8/1-8/31. Not sure if this will also be available in European stores. Other Deals include 75 bonus points with purchase of the City Harbor set and 50% off SW magnets with a $99 purchase.

After seeing this set here I don't think this set is much of a big deal. Is the fig's head a new design?

I hope they just mean that the LEGO stores will not be selling it individually, and that outlets like Target and TRU will.

It will be interesting to see if it does go that route like other polybags. It could be the only time it is available in the US, so I will pick up at least 2.

This is why I hate polybags. For me, they are the only sets I can't reliably find for MSRP or less. If I don't wind up with this guy - I'm not going to lose sleep over it. There are other polybags, like the Atlantis Octopus, and the Ninjago Dragon, that I have yet to actually find in a store.

Can anyone tell me the piece count on this set please so I can update the database.

I don't 'get' polybags - are they ever for sale in the UK or only in promos? I know brand stores have some of them, but do they have all? I've not seen any on [email protected] either. I'd love an octopus!

I saw the fire chief one at Tesco a while ago, hanging on a plastic strip.

^^ Some become available for sale in the UK , but are notoriously store specific and not normally available online. Others are given away in promos as exclusives in one country or another and are never seen again, whilst other times they will reappear on sale in one country or another months later. On more than one occasion I have paid over the odds for a polybag on ebay or Bricklink, only to find it given away for free 6 months later!

It's kinda hard to predict, which is one of the reasons I'm utterly addicted to tracking these little fellas down. I have polybag addiction.

lol! I'm glad I'm not too addicted, but they are kind of adorable. I just can't help think of giving hubby one a day for his advent calendar...would be awesome!

Some of the ESSO polybags seem to be same as previous mail giveaways, which seems a bit of a con, but actually at £1.50 each vs 45p or whatever it is for the paper (and the hassle of having to be there on the day) doesn't seem too bad. And the jet ski is ace :)

I have about 20 of these guys. If anyone is interested in purchasing any, send me a PM.

I just got one today for free with my [email protected] order but i do wonder about the way polybags are distributed. I found the clown fish 30025 at London Drugs the other day and only 11 people are listed as having it (either cant find or dont want.. i dont know). I rarely see polybags here in Canada. TRU usually has one Star Wars polybag at a time and there are no freebies with gas or papers here. Is there a rhyme or reason to these??
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
^^ thanks for the piece count @dougts

^ @dimefield, ooh Clownfish, nice! If you get a chance to grab another couple I'd gladly buy them from you or trade them with other polys, I have a healthy stash for trading.

^ +1 as a fish scientist I'd love a clownfish please. I have UK sets to trade :)

ill have to swing by the store tomorrow, they also had 30010 fire chief but that one seems to be more common.
  • atkinsaratkinsar Member Posts: 4,258
Yeah 30010 was/is more widely available, but as far as I'm aware you've made the first confirmed sighting of 30025, certainly not a lot of people have marked it as owned on Brickset.
