21103 Release Date?

Burning question-Does anyone know when the next CUUSOO Set comes out, the Delorean Time Machine? It's been over a year since the last set, we haven't even seen pics yet.

Pretty sure I saw August as the date in a previous thread but I can't recall the source.

Well, let me just go hop in my DeLorean, hit 88 mph, and before you know it, I'll be back with the model. Unless, of course, I'm already back from the future. O_o

Yes late July/August timeframe is what I have read/heard on here and other sites.

Surely October 15 2015 would be a much better date for the set release?

Although that would mean we would all have to wait even longer for it!

Though with the fairly credible-seeming rumors of future Minecraft sets, who knows? By the time 2015 rolls around there might have been strong enough sales of the time machine set to warrant expansion into a full theme.

^ the train from BttF 3 and a city hall/street scene with the cables set up for the delorean would be awesome additions to the car.

If done for AFOLs instead of for kids, those would sell very well indeed.

BTTF still has a huge fan following...

^ if they continue it under Cuusoo then I would assume they'd be AFOL focused. The train could be kid friendly if done kind of like the Lone Ranger one. Make the train nice, include Clara and maybe their kids, add the Point of no return wind vane thing and some track. But I wouldn't think BttF would be a hit with today's kids so I think LEGO would know it would be better to focus that on AFOLs.

I honestly don't think there's that much of a difference between AFOL-focused and kid-focused sets, to be honest, at least as far as licensed themes are concerned. They're both going to try to portray the source material fairly accurately. And to be honest, there are some scenes from certain licensed properties that couldn't work at all without a lot of kid-focused play features... how's an adult supposed to enjoy an Indiana Jones set if they can't properly activate the traps, after all?

Some older licensed sets tended to sacrifice the authenticity and adult appeal of a set in order to meet price points, but the latest Hogwarts Express is the only example of that I can really think of in the past several years. Otherwise, I feel that licensed sets have kept to a pretty stellar standard of quality.
