Funding the Forum Ideas

Might be more of a mess than just doing a subscription but people are very generous on this forum so what about a voluntary tag sale where people offer up Lego as they would for sale using market place but proceeds go to funding the forum?  I assume a PayPal or similar online account could be set up or may already exist for Brickset. Minimums could be set to a what the individual believes would be a fair price.  It would mean an out of pocket cost for shipping to buyer by the donating individual in order not to complicate the whole thing.  Important in all of this is simplicity - not making this a workload for Huw and company.   and a measure of trust behalf of donators and purchasers versus layers of assurances/controls that would take time and efforts

 Also possible in the spirit of giving, part of the proceeds if sales are good could go to the charities usually supported by Brickset.

Would people support a nominal subscription fee to keep the forums?  Would $5 or $10/year per person be enough? Or voluntary amounts like wikipedia asks for every year?

I would, for one, be willing to pay for this. Life has caused me to have to take a step back from my typical collecting, but I think the forum is a great retreat from day-to-day life; so, if Huw could find some financial medium, I certainly think it would be worth at least presenting.
