New Magnets

ChrisJThunderChrisJThunder Member Posts: 115
Heya everyone.

I've been looking for a way to get a cheap Princess Leia Minifig with my VIP points and I cam across 850637-1: Princess Leia Magnet.

However, I'm not sure if this is one of the new magnets that's backed onto another brick or something that doesn't allow you to separate the minifig and use it as ... well, ... a minifig.

Do you know what's with these things? Should I buy one?
Thanks!

Yeah, to prevent people from just taking the figures they've glued it to take brick-magnet. Sorry.

thebrickblogger does an excellent tutorial on how to remove magnet figures. Of course the back of the figures legs get a little messed up from the glue.

But the one the TC is talking about is the ones that are more or less attached with a screw to the circle, not the glued magnets

^Oh I see. my bad I'm on the mobile version of brickset so wasn't able to look up the set number. I just assumed he meant the original ones. Well that sucks I was hoping to pick up one of those new magnets to check ot out, not anymore.

they're similar to the keychains, a rod is hot inserted through the back and legs glued on, it can be removed but you'll have a 3mm hole in minifigs back.
