It is there but at the right hand corner "More buying choices". I think this is intentional by Amazon as it is only there for price matching with Target.

Well that was the Amazon ghost... It is there but really not there... I guess Target will be your best bet and it will be the same if you buy 2 and another 5% with red card.

Thanks @lordzarak. I had an order for the tumbler at $29.97 and was able to cancel and replace it due to Amazon's slow pace for standard shipping.

you can also just contact them and they will adjust the price for you without cancelling.... just did it for my order of 5x tumbler

Mind tricks and I ordered the sets on Mar 2... not sure if they changed the limits that day or not. Also was able to have them price match them from $29.59 down to $23.99~!
A lot better than the CDN retail of $49.99 each

I was excited to receive the three sets I ordered for a huge discount from Amazon today: #76001 for $23.99, #76003 for $25.99, and #76004 for $11.83. All arrived in perfect condition. It took Amazon so long to ship them that I was expecting them to ultimately be canceled.

^ Same here. I got my sets in great condition and they took a bit longer than usual to arrive. Course, being close outs who knows which amazon whse(s) they were stocked in.

BTW... Has anyone ever seen an amazon truck? One would think they'd be quite common. I mean, I see Lowe's trucks, Walmart Trucks, etc. I've never seen an amazon truck.

D'oh!! Oh yeah, they transfer stock via drones! :-)

^ Lowes and Walmart are stocking their own stores from a centralized distribution center. Amazon stocks distribution centers not stores. So the "trucks" would be source from the manufacturers of the products which aren't typically branded. So the unlabeled trucks on the road or the ones branded with shipping companies like Maersk are the ones that most likely are full of product that might be going to an Amazon location.

^ I'm sure you're correct. I was thinking more of when Amazon needs to move inventory from distribution center to distribution center. I have no idea how Amazon combines products into 1 shipment, but I don't think they would have everything a customer has in the nearest center 100% if the time. I'm thinking they would transfer certain inventory from center to center. I, like many people, will buy a variety of items across categories at the same time. Almost always items will arrive together. Sometimes it takes days for the items to ship. It causes me to think they are combining the order from multiple centers. It may rarely happen, but I'm thinking it does. If so they may have regular shipments to/from center to center throughout the day, every day. Just wondering how that inventory is transported.

Again, just my thoughts. I could be way off base.

It's possible they use the same trucks delivering other things. Say a truck of all LEGO is taking a shipment of half its load to one distribution center and then going on to another. They may just load up that truck with stuff needing to go there and send it on its way. Or even if the truck is emptied at the first the same could happen. The logistics of managing something like that would be insane but that is basically what every shipping company already does today to maximize the use of trucks so they arent driving empty very much.

I work in logistics and transportation. I can tell you with 100% certainty based on my experience, I have no idea how Amazon moves their product between DC's.

I've got a question here. I'm seeing these discounts at Amazon, and I'm really tempted to pick up one of them. I'm kind of new to Lego (since Christmas 2013 and our boy "came of age'), so I'm wondering if a discount like this is typically the best we'll get.

Any advice?

It depends on how quickly you want the set after release. Finding discounts from 10-20% are typical sale prices. The better sales these days are BOGOHO (25% discount if your two items have the same price).

Much steeper discounts (40-60%) can be found on final end-of-life clearance items. But the availability is hard to find, discounts vary by store, and not all end-of-life items go on deep discount.

With Easter this weekend, we are likely entering a lull in sales. There will likely be some Star Wars items on sale at beginning of May. Other sales will be hit and miss.

So, a lot of rambling. The short version is this is a decent price if you want the sets now. If you can stand waiting, I can pretty much guarantee you will find a better sale in the next 9 months.

My advice is that if it's a set you want for yourself, and it's 20% or more off, get it. You may save more later, or you may not, but at least you'll have your set now, at a respectable price.

Seems like most sets don't get past 30% unless on clearance. So if it is 25 to 30% off that is pretty good price and you may want to pull the trigger. Most sets seem like you will be able to get at 20% during a good sale and should happen a couple of times during its run.
