Cat-related things have been my default for "Damn, need a username and can't think of anything good!" for... ooh, a good 17 years now.

    Cat-related things

So you have a different username for everywhere? Was cathugger used first or did you come in at the catwrestler end?
Or maybe cat describes the quietness of your actions and you started from catburgler. In which case what do you wrangle quietly?
This 'I chose this username because...' actually made me less sure, before I just assumed that had some cats that were a bit of a handful!

My email is themakerofrules....A line from the song " Eye in the sky". I usually just shorten it for my username.... and I am or was 37.

I've got particular names I've used in clusters so it's easy to be found/added by friends on different sites that have a lot of membership overlap, and then there's places where I use my real name because it's handy to be findable by that. But yeah, when a site doesn't fit into either cat...egory, I try to think up something else. And your first guess was right; many cats are a bit of a handful, including the current feline boss!

I'm actually quite fond of my Brickset username now. So much so I've got the corresponding Flickr and About.me URLs, and the .uk domain: http://www.xwingpilot.uk

A family friend has the surname Albrecht and when I was a nipper I just pronounced it Allbrick. The nickname has stuck with him and my username is a nod to that, fits with Lego too.

Oh my; a strap on. This thread is going in an entirely different direction. Don't let Mr.Piggles see this or that will be the next password she uses or dare I say username?

I'll add it to the queue right after Bilbo. All you filthy-mouthed rapscallions have provided quite a list of password possibilities. :)

quick story... A co-worker had a critical piece of information on her computer, but she had gone home for the day. I called her and she agreed to give me her password so I could access the document. She was really embarrassed about her password and said "Don't read into it - it's just a silly password." Her password was Ram69Rod69. She never lived it down.

I am (was) a single Mom of two very active LEGO Maniac boys (although currently in their Dark Ages).  Things could get quite hectic and chaotic and crazy sometimes. When the boys found Mom 'Losing It'  they would go find a fuzzy critter (we usually had at least four cats and/or dogs around the house) and next thing I knew I had my face buried in my dogs' neck or my kittys' belly - totally distracted with Fuzzies and All was Okay!

Hence Fuzzy Thoughts - my go to Good Place...which also my LEGO place so it fit!

Yeah its a bad year all round. My condolences on the purple one. Favourite story about him- some friends saw his security arrive at a small London gig carrying a large bag walking right past all of the fans queued up outside. They were just close enough to the front to see the bag be put down inside the venue and prince climb out of it.  One way to avoid the fans!

It's fairly simple to be honest. I like LEGO. I like christmas. I collect and build Lego sets and MOCs which are christmas themed. Sooo...
    I am a Lego christmas-lover I guess ;D

I added 'King' to my real name to be thematic for a war strategy game. also I'm AlanFromRochester; I added my hometown to distinguish from another Alan on another site. I signed up for BrickLink years ago as KingAlanI and picked the same one for another LEGO site.

Because my name is Paul and I'm a Geordie! Although that's technically not true. I'm a Geordie in that I'm a Newcastle supporter from the North East of England, but I'm actually from a little town called South Shields, which isn't far from Newcastle, so makes me a Sanddancer. Confused? Google is your friend.

Fun fact - I was born in the same hospital as Ridley Scott and Eric Idle!

My Dad and my wife both call me Maffy. The D is to make it 3 syllables and it's the first letter of my surname.
  • TheOriginalSimonBTheOriginalSimonB Member Posts: 1,771
First name + initial of surname and then the rest to distinguish myself from imposters.
  • EdmicEdmic Member Posts: 102
First two letters of my name and first 3 letters of my wife's name, we use this username on sites where we both use the same account if that is handsome, and given that we keep the setlist on brickset and we both are into LEGO this is one of those shared accounts (Tho i doubt if she ever has visited the forum), it avoid ever asking each other "Honey what was your username or password on that site again.."

How do you distinguish between Hers and His sets?

I...actually have no idea. I was just signing up for Eurobricks a couple years back and came up with my name on the spot.

It's actually a name though, which I just learned.

I work for an airline in the engineering department, from 2005 through 2015 I was the MD80 aircraft Fleet Manager, this aircraft is also known as The Mad Dog, so it was an easy choice for me.

Now that MD80s have been phased out I am the Boeing 737 Fleet Manager, but I will not change my username to Tin Mouse, Maggot, Pocket Rocket Socket or FLUF (Fat Little Ugly F**cker), no way...

Mine comes from something I was called at a place I used to work at many years ago.  She meant to call me "deep", or a "dark horse", but ended up saying "deephorse".

There's a long and detailed story behind why I chose my username. It started a few decades ago when my parents chose it to refer to me. As those decades wore on, my resistance failed, and I started using it to refer to myself. Then I used it as my username.

So yeah, I chose this username because it's my name :)
