It's the time of year when I'm billed for forum hosting. I have renewed it for another year but it's unlikely that I will do so next year. The price has gone up by about 10% and will do so again over the next few years.

I have been unable to monetise it effectively either through adverts or affiliate links so it continues to run at a loss. This is mainly because of the low traffic it receives, which is a fraction of that when it was at its peak in 2012-2014, and that on the main site.

The forum's dashboard is showing a steady decline in users and page views over the past year and to accurately assess traffic levels over the coming months I have just enabled Google Analytics 4. I will also try and gather more accurate data for advertising revenue before making a final decision.

I appreciate this will not be good news for the hardcore users of it but unfortunately it appears everyone else has migrated to Facebook and elsewhere, which is a problem many online communities are facing.
