I've got tons of photos to share and some video. Can someone think of the best way to share them? I guess I could use Flickr?

I wish I could be over there too see the X-wing!

I don't suppose there are any plans to do anything like this around Europe.

LEGOLAND® California Resort is proud to announce the world’s largest LEGO® model is “landing” at the family theme park in Carlsbad on June 13, 2013. The LEGO® Star Wars™ X-wing starfighter was unveiled for the first time today in New York’s Times Square by the LEGO Group.
After its New York appearance, the X-wing is making the trip across the country to LEGOLAND California Resort where it will be on display for guests to enjoy through the remainder of the year.
I'm going to get to see it, yay!

Went to the Toys R Us in Times Square and they were giving out one of these Yoda Minifigs with every purchase of a #9493 X-Wing. There were 1000 of them and it was only going during the 3 days the X-Wing was in Times Square.
