Refresh the page and it should start working, but bear in mind that it doesn't work in the mobile version.

Is there a shorthand form of linking to an individual fig or part?

    example:

    #75019

links to the 2013 AT-TE, (and looks nice) but if I wanted to link to Mace Windu from that set:

    #sw479

    sadly doesn't do it, whereas...

    http://www.brickset.com/minifigs/?m=sw479

does... except that will look really messy if written in a post listing lots of such links. Is there a shorthand for such a link, or a means to make it look nicer?

If so, can someone please show this computer illiterate how?

I seem to have managed to post a duplicate discussion. Is there a way to delete one? *embarrased*

^ I've removed it for you. In future it's easiest to hit the flag button next to the date/time of the post, under your name, and mention it's a duplicate.

Thank you I shall make a note of that for future need.

It's the button that has two chain links on it.

Hit Quote underneath the post you want to reply to like I just did.

^ You only get six minutes to edit a comment, otherwise it is set in stone.

If not an hour, I feel at least 20 minutes would be apropos. Otherwise you get a lot of back-to-backs.

Is it possible to import parts lists from Rebrickable? IE, I have parts listed on that site that were purchased on Bricklink, but I want to start compiling my collection here at Brickset (because the set interface is better than Rebrickable). I can easily add sets to "My Sets" and I see it's possible to add parts from individual sets, but I'd like to bypass the grunt work of adding each part manually.

I don't use Rebrickable myself, but I found this in the FAQ, so I don't know if it imports your part collection as well or if it's only your sets collection.
    https://brickset.com/faq

Import my collection recorded at Rebrickable.com

To import your collection from Rebrickable:

    - Log in, then click on your name at the top right of the page
    - Click on Edit my profile in the menu
    - Scroll down to the Rebrickable section and enter your Rebrickable username and password
    - Click on the Check login details link to ensure you've entered them correctly.
    - Click on the big blue My Sets link at the top of the page, then in the 'Sets Owned' box, hover over 'Import', then click on 'From Rebrickable…'
    - Follow the instructions

No, you can't import parts lists, or indeed record the ownership of individual parts here at Brickset.

Would it be possible to automatically wrap posted images with the spoiler tag if they exceed a preset size limit? It seems that there are complaints about image sizes being posted nearly every day. I'd like to think nobody intentionally posts super-sized images just to be annoying, but with current cell-phones a lot of images get created by default in sizes that some users have problems downloading. I'm probably guilty of uploading of uploading such photos myself, if they don't get resized when I grab them from Google Photos to post.

If spoiler tags cannot be automated, maybe a test for image size, similar to the test that prohibits sending .apk files as attachments to messages but allows .zip files to pass through?

^ That, or if everyone could just use spoilers anyway, that'd be great too.
  • datsunrobbiedatsunrobbie Member Posts: 1,812
^It certainly would. I've been writing software for food-service distribution for 30 years, and one thing that I learned doing that is that if there is a way to enter bad data, users will enter bad data. Not that they mean to, just that they will. The prohibition on memes is easy, because anybody who was going to post a meme knows they are posting a meme, while people posting big images most likely don;t even realize that the images are excessively large.

That's a good point. Either something is a meme or it isn't, but how do you decide by appearance whether an image is "large" or not? At what exact point does a photograph become too big? Putting every image in spoilers would probably be pushing it, although I've seen much worse enforced on some forums. Therefore, I think your idea with the automatic wrap would work well.

Other forums solved it by thumbnailing pictures to a fixed max size and only linking/loading a full size once you click it
