Series 6

This is NOT a leak or a 'I hope they make a blah blah' thread. But I came across this link http://www.bricktuts.com/?p=374#comments but haven't had any confirmation for the chap as to where he got his source (other that hoping to drum up traffic for his site). I'm just surprised that with series 5 confirmed and almost upon us, we haven't even heard a peep about series 6?

This source has been discussed over at Eurobricks, and they (and I) are sceptic.
I agree with you though, we had a Hi-Res image of S4 before we had one of S3, and now we've nearly got S5, where's S6?

I maintain the Hi-Res image dump of CMFs4 was a mistake. We hadn't even seen the hi-res versions of CMFs3 yet (wasn't it even before s3 was released?), which leads me to believe that the wrong folder of images was made public, and LEGO just rolled with it since it was their mistake.

It's just an odd list to put out after a number of the 'rumoured' figs already have some incarnation (eg evil scientist) unless its someones poor description of what they've seen. I remain sceptical (hadn't seen that thread on EB, and had commented on his article a while back) but still surprised there hasn't been anything to maintain the hype.

Meh, it kinda seems to me like it's just some random list of previous minifig ideas. Series 6 I expect to have some real home-runs and nothing on this list would motivate me in the least.

I'm almost expecting any real list to contain something like a Golfer, etc.

Yea I saw this at eurobricks. Pretty sure its fake. If it's real I wont be buying any of them. Sounds really bad. No army building fig? Doubt its real.

^ I agree, they all sound pretty poor. Except maybe the snow shoveller. :P

Honestly, sounds nearly as plausible as this:
    http://www.brothers-brick.com/2011/03/31/list-of-upcoming-series-6-collectible-minifigures/

    A terrorist, huh?
  • vynsanevynsane Member Posts: 179
We've not gotten a terrorist yet, true, but we've received a few cannibals now, thanks to PotC ;)

I could see half of that April Fool's list actually happen.

Yea I remember seeing that list a while ago and thinking it was plausible, and even began to think it might be true, which had me excited, until I read terrorist....Then I realized it was a joke lol. But that ones more believable than the one from bricktuts in my opinion.

One of the employees at the Lego Store I went to last week said that Series 5 is the last due to sagging sales of Series 3 and 4 (they still have huge stocks of Series 3). He hadn't heard about the reports from TLG designers about design of further series already having been determined though so his comment may not be accurate.

^ I could see this being the case, though that could be pure conjecture. If true, it's a shame, but I voted with my wallet and didn't go all-in after the pice change. At $1.99, I was up for getting an entire set, but at $2.99 (or $3.49 at the Rockefeller Center Store, as I found out recently) I just picked up those that I really liked. In fact, there are still some from CMFs3 that I don't have and don't feel compelled to hunt down.

I wouldn't be opposed to series' dragging out. The gaps have been too short IMO, I felt a bit fatigued towards the end of my Series 4 hunt.

If what @prof1515 was told is true, I'd have mixed feelings. On the one hand there are plenty of great minifigs that could still be made; on the other hand I'd hate to see the concept milked to the stage where we were seeing pure filler minifigs at Series 7 or 8.

At $2.99, they're still cheaper than in the UK... (if my conversions are correct) and previous reports from 'the top' implied that they were designing series 6 already.

I wouldn't be surprised if the release dates were slowed down, as yes there are still tonnes of series 4 near me (and I can't help but buy the damn things), but that's more a case of the stockist getting their order levels right.

Still heaps of series four around now and I even came across a very full box of series three figs recently up on the front counter of a store. Seemed to me like they might be getting hard to move. I think the sets are released far to close together to keep them exciting and if I see another type of skater, skier or snow/surf boarder I'm calling it quits on them. I have all four sets complete so far but I'm no cow.

I will be seriously disappointed if they stop releasing these. I think they clearly need a re-think on how/when they release them and the quantity, however I love these little fella's (and Ladies). And really, really, really want a 'bobby' UK Policeman before they stop the releases. :)

I agree, I am hooked on the Minifigure Collections. I used to be into collecting baseball cards and the fact that the packages are blind takes me back to it and I love it.

I am hoping they come up with a counterpart for the baseball player or an American Football Player :)

My opinion on the series 4 pictures drop was that it was actually due to the uproar about the magnets being reported as glued which was reported through Brickset and other sites officially on the 1st of December (http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=1016) and there was a pretty big uproar and then on the 5th we suddenly had something to divert our attention. Great PR move, could be a coincidence/acident but you never know.
  • EricEric Member Posts: 376
    ^ Haha, very good point.
  • kylejohnson11kylejohnson11 Member Posts: 508
@MCNwakeboard I guess it worked, I forgot about it completely until now :)
  • vynsanevynsane Member Posts: 179
^^^ Ha, hadn't thought of that, though I never went in for magnet sets, so the news didn't bother me one way or the other.
  • andheandhe Member Posts: 3,916
Great review on eurobricks of the series 5... guess that means they are on their way.

Anyone work out how the boxers gloves attach though?
  • MatthewMatthew Administrator Posts: 3,714
^ They attach directly to the arms instead of regular hands.
