Light up lightsabers/ torche batteries

I recently got a bulk lot of lego which includes 4 Star Wars figs and a policeman which all have light up functions how ever my light up police man doesn't work. Can you replace the batteries on them as I can't get him apart to see if faulty or just out of juice
