Is it possible to delete your own posts in discussions?

No, not currently. We have taken a view and intentionally removed the ability to delete posts in order to try and maintain the integrity of the discussions. In the early days, it was causing much confusion and was making it difficult to audit certain discussions due to posts being deleted.

We do understand that on the odd occasion, it would be useful to be able to delete posts, but it is more important that we can all sensibly follow the trail of a discussion. I should note that nobody has the ability to delete posts, mods and admins included.

I understand. And agree! Edited threads are annoying and off-putting to readers... Thanks. I'll just have to live with what I've done then! Nothing harsh, just potentially unfortunate... Live and learn, etc...

^ sorry, there is a delete function, it's just switched off currently. If you feel strongly enough that you want a post deleted for a good reason then we may be able to accommodate your request as a one off. If so, I would suggest sending a pm with your request to one of the admins, e.g. @rocao or @yellowcastle.

Thankfully, it's resolved now with a couple of PMs. All's well. Everyone's so decent on this forum, which is why I love it. Thanks.
