It does indeed look very interesting! I can't see any availability information, though.

I've asked for a copy for review.

Looks like they're planning to bring it to iOS by the end of the year too -

I've heard back and apparently it'll be ready in a couple of weeks: it's being printed at the moment.

It does look interesting. I have to say Huw's pictures are better, although these look decent. I am bothered by the lack of consistency in the backgrounds. Why are some white and some grey, and some yellow and some light blue.

^ My guess would be due to multiple photographers working on the project, each with their own equipment/setup rather than one uniform method. But that's just a guess.

I think we should reserve judgement until we've seen it.

It's being 'printed'?? I kind of assumed it would be an electronic catalog...

Surely creating any book like this will end up with it being out of date before its ever printed.
Not saying that means it has no value, but I would have thought if they made it a download they could always offer the latest version (or free updates), would be a lot more appealing to me.

It already is out of date, as it only goes up to 2010...

I have the Star Wars Minifig app for the iphone and the chap who put that together updates it when new figures are released. Think that is a good way to go, would rather pay a premium up front and have a more upto date catalog.

What's the name of the star wars minifig app for the iPhone? Couldn't find it using the obvious searches?

SWMinis, no connected in anyway with the Dev. But think its a nice little app.

If the quality is nice enough, and the cost is low enough, it might make a good book to throw on the shelf - I know my nieces and nephews would probably have plenty of fun looking through the last 3 decades of minifigures.

If you check the website linked above, he's planning to release an iOS app before the end of the year. Choice is good.

I've just received a proof copy for review purposes.

All I'll say for now until I have time to write it, is 'wow'!
